Saw a bucktommy say that they’ve actually thought for a while that Tim isn’t interested in developing Buck and Tommy’s relationship and in the long run it’s only bi buck they are interested in. They continued to say that last season Tim was brave by saying Buck was getting off the hamster wheel but since then has only kept Tommy as a background character with no development and they are 100% blaming Tim.
I had to laugh at that because at least they are waking up to what we’ve been saying this whole entire time. Tim saying Buck was getting off the hamster wheel meant NOTHING in terms of Tommy, like we’ve been saying Tommy is the stepping stone for Buck TO finally get off the hamster wheel, he’s suppose to be there to help Buck in order for Buck’s next partner to be the one he’s off the hamster wheel with. Also, Tim can’t ever be blamed for this because he literally warned everyone that Tommy was a ‘first fling’ and that he wouldn’t go making wedding plans for them…how much clearer did he actually need to be. It was only the other week in an interview Tim refused to comment on where Buck and Tommy’s relationship was heading, if Tommy was the endgame there’d be nothing to hide. He’d straight up say that he thinks Buck’s found ‘the one’ and that at the moment, he’s just going to develop on them and see where he can take them, but no he said he wasn’t going to answer it, because they’re gonna breakup and doesn’t wanna give that away! Blame Tim but he’s tried telling everyone AND Buddies have tried to warn everyone they aren’t lasting.
#something something to be seen to be found
i feel like when people talk about eddie’s jealousy they don’t talk about this moment in 5x16 enough like damn he really said you’re missing something because you’re not family to them but i am 🫶
Whenever a post refers to Buck as "Evan", I just know it will be the worst take ever
kitchen counter kisses for @loserbuckley !
this is a prompt fill with the @911actions gotcha for gaza—the submission period has come to an end, but you can still donate to a good cause!
how are any of us supposed to be normal abt buddie after oliver stark admitted to crying in the shower over buddie edits
Let’s not spread false information - it’s never been said it WAS supposed to be Tommy & Eddie. It was said it was a possibility, not a guarantee, but it quickly fell through.
Then Tim revisited the idea of bisexual Buck that got shot down (by Fox, I assume cause, well, Fox) and he then made the effort to specifically get Lou, because he is fond of him and yes there would be no need to introduce a brand new character and thus Tim started writing his lil romcom as he calls it.
Well if you wanna get technical let's get technical...
Tim Minear confirmed that he wanted Lucy in the very beginning but since Arielle was not available THAT LEFT TOMMY. So no, he didn't get Tommy because he was revisiting the idea of bi Buck. It was the other way around. BECAUSE Lou was available and Arielle wasn't, Tim decided to revisit the idea he had had during s4.
So no... He didn't make the effort. Lou just was available and Tim didn't want to introduce a new character to explore Buck's sexuality and therefore Tommy
They even let us know in the show that Hen requested for Lucy and Tommy just happened to be there
And then he had to choose... Ryan himself confirmed during my previously mentioned podcast interview that he didn't know to which one of them that storyline was gonna go so yes it was a "possibility" but it went to Buck because Tim (and maybe Ryan) didn't believe that it was a storyline that fit Eddie so Tim went to Oliver instead. Oliver also confirmed that he was approached with the Tommy idea in the early days of preparing either eps 2 or 3 so it was something that was decided as they were filming so Tommy definitely wasn't the original plan
It was ALSO confirmed yes that the main reason Tommy was chosen to be Buck's first male love interest is because Tim didn't want to introduce a new character which doesn't go into bt favor since Tommy's place could literally be filled by any other man
So yes Tim chose him but trust me when I say he's no Endgame. Especially after all the trouble bt have been causing. Tim called it an entry relationship and yes Tommy is important to Buck because he's his first boyfriend. But there are no wedding bells in the horizon...
And as we've been able to see in canon... there is nothing tender and positive about their relationship because Tommy doesn't actually listen to Buck or understand him. So yes... bucktommy is canon now but with the way he's been excluded from every promo/bts/content since they started filming (even though we all know he's coming back) well that doesn't sound good, does it???
AND because I'm petty I'm gonna add this. During the days previous to S7 Tim kept posting buddie stills on his Facebook account (the first one he ever posted was of Eddie himself)
Clearly you can tell Tim has a favorite right??? And I shouldn't even bring up the first still of s8 he posted just a couple of days ago...
Oliver liked a couple of bucktommy posts yes but after 7x04 he never liked a bucktommy post again and just kept liking and posting buddie content
And to finalize...
The ONLY post he liked post 7x10 was a buddie one so... if Oliver himself had to choose Buck's Endgame well the choice is pretty clear
Hoped this helped...
I just watched The Rookie 2x11. There was a parallel between Bones and 911 in this episode. To save the love of your life by digging them from under the mud with your bare hands. Ahhh this is true romance and it will never get old
the big buddie accounts need to start calling shit in their fandom out the way they do for bucktommy fans
That’s very true. But tbf, a lot of Buddie fans these days try and keep to themselves and theorize about having buddie go canon. Bt fans are the ones who message the actors, showrunners, FAMILY MEMBERS, and degrade the lgtb charcters like Hen, Karen, Josh etc because they aren’t important to them. They’ve even taken actual buddie creators from tiktok and have edited them into hate edits. Buddie stans have never done that shit.
But when buddie stans actually do something wrong they should be called out and some actually do. Like that buddie stans that was called out for defending Tommy’s racism, just like they do with bt stans
I feel like initially most people were on the same page about Tommy Kinnard, they were like ok let's see where it goes and we got Bi Buck!! Like, in April, I was on top of the world bc of Bi Buck, and I was so excited for him and eager to see where it goes, even the ones who didn't want him for Buck from the start were indifferent to him.
But I feel like the divide and the ship wars intensified was when people started using the "healthy male friendship" and "why can't two men just be friends" argument against Buddie, we have hundreds, if not thousands of those in pop culture and homophobes often use this argument against lgbt rep, so to see a group, some if not most of which are queer themselves use the same argument is off putting.
Then, whether you're his fan or a hater, you gotta agree that Tommy's character is a blank slate, he's not been given much to do, besides a few moments, and a significant part of that is him being racist and sexist to two fan favourite characters: Chim and Hen respectively (similarly people disliked Taylor for what she did to Bobby, the redemption and forgiveness before she started dating Buck was implied but it's not enough). Other than that he doesn't have a lot of qualities. And what happens is fans project a lot of things on him. What made me abandon the Tevan ship was people "stealing" Eddie's character traits and projecting it onto Tommy, while labelling him a terrible mentally insane father who uses Buck for his own gain, yada yada yada. And I love Buck and Eddie equally, so to me that was irritating.
Also, since he doesn't have many character traits, his lines, which are intended as sassy can come off as him being a dismissive and condescending dick.
Then for the off screen side of things, we were constantly told Buck is straight, by the actors and the showrunner but everyone was like eh whatever, and then our headcannons were proven right, but suddenly theorising about Eddie and that a lot of queer people including myself identify with him is looked down on if not straight up mocked, and that the canon storylines are the only ones that matter have made the fandom a bit toxic.
Buddies are often accused of blindly hating on Tommy, so I feel like I should lay it out as to why a lot of us went from being indifferent or open to the guy to straight up hating him.
“Buck isn’t co-parenting Christopher”
Here is a compilation of Oliver and Ryan saying to complete opposite
Now I know I did not just see that a bt fan messaged Tim for tmmy to have his own spin off show with buck 😭😭 there’s insane and there’s INSANE
not an explicit gay porn blog rb my post to say that bt is more intimate than buddie……
they’re also reblogging posts saying lou is responsible for the uptick in viewership as well as completely misrepresenting the network switch….
(also the referencing buddie shippers as “people” bc they’ve decided to completely dehumanize us meanwhile they are the ones doing the harassing of actors/crew… lfj was being called out on racist behavior, not being budllied bc poetry weren’t blowing sunchine up a nepo baby’s ass)
as well as reblogging multiple buddie/buddie shipper posts( @jackwhiteprophetic )and saying things like “you misspelled tommy” or using them to soundboard their love of oliver (which don’t get me wrong i love oliver and id much rather people speak positively about him than the delusional fucks who have been harassing him but coming from a bt shipper it always feels so off to me idk)
or blatantly saying buddie shippers are delusional while perpetuating this claim that buck (who has spent all of maybe 10 minutes of screentime with him) is completely head over heels in love with him
I’m sick of these people and i really hope the show doesn’t continue to just ignore everything they’ve done (especially for ryan and oliver’s sake) because these are the people who make fandom spaces toxic. these are the reasons tv shows/media refuses to acknowledge fan engagement (not that 9-1-1 is ignoring fan engagement). Tim Minear has been vocal about cakling out other people/groups in the fandom directly; he needs to keep that same energy and tell these people that they’re being the problem here.
I’m so sick of people trying to act like buddie hasn’t been THE ship for years while acting like this underdeveloped character and this likewarm representation of a ship are somehow the holy grail of queer media.
Not to mention the fact that I once got a flag on my account saying they deleted a post for “explicit nudity” because i had posted a picture w a shirtless guy in it, but they can post/reblog literal PORN and they’re just labeled as a “mature account” by tumblr.
(now im not a prude, i know porn/sex work is s real job, but tumblr can’t just pick and choose who it wants to allow to post porn or not)
but who knows; after all i’m just a delusional buddie shipper so 🤷
The only reason i want them to bring taylor back, she knew what buck and eddie got going on
taylor kelly sold her book. they're making a movie. she's back for an episode. buck tells her he is bi. she says congrats to him and eddie. he says ah no actually his name is tommy. taylor punches him in the face.
okay no bc i actually need to see abuela having a meaningful talk with christopher about how shannon wasn’t a good mother and that he’s old enough to know the truth rather than eddie just over-romanticizing the whole thing
christopher does not need to be shamed for being upset at his mom leaving. the whole “she didn’t leave, she died 🥺” argument is just factually untrue when she fully intended to leave again before she had her accident
he does not need to be coddled and told about how hard it was for her when she was actively being just as ableist as ramon and helena. he is 13 years old; if he can make a decision on where he lives, he can hear the truth of how awful his mother was so that maybe he can actually provide sufficient context to the actions his dad has taken
yes, she was very young when christopher was born, and no eddie was not a perfect husband/father in the beginning; but the point is she didn’t even give him a chance to even begin processing his PTSD when he cane back, immediately vilifying him for everything before doing the same exact thing as what… petty revenge? giving him a taste of his own medicine? you’re an adult woman with a son who needed you and you walked out on him because you didn’t want the stress. okay, that’s fine, that’s your choice
but don’t show up once he’s older demanding to see him because “he’s my son too” and then proceeding to shame eddie, the one who HAS been there for him after you left, for something he already has made clear he regrets, and has also atoned for by stepping up and actually taking responsibility rather than shirking them the moment it got ‘too hard’ when his parents would have been more than willing to let him do
and then to try and manipulate him with the whole “he’s my son” “we can be a family again” bullshit as a way to get back into his pants— only to dip as soon as things start to get serious again?
and on top of that, the “she was just a girl” argument doesn’t even hold up because yeah, she WAS just a girl. she’s not just a girl anymore. she’s a grown adult woman shirking her responsibility because she doesn’t want to be a mother. That’s all well and good; she doesn’t have to be a mother. But once you make that decision, don’t go crawling back acting like you weren’t the one to actively decide to leave. You’re an adult, making adult decisions, and you need to handle the adult consequences of those adult decisions.
sorry no one will ever be able to convince me to like shannon and im sick of the writers trying to force rose tinted glasses on her existence bc of tim’s obsession with bringing devin back out of nowhere every two seconds
anyway sorry for the shannon rant i saw thay post i reblogged and it just reminded me how much anger i hold towards her for everything she did and how i hate it when people are like “oh she changed she wanted to try again 🥺” when she quite literally didn’t, as is evident by the way she immediately tried to run away again the moment she had to be an adult.
also there is no way buck would EVER look at the way she treated chris and eddie and then actively be friends with her. friend-ly maybe, civil at best, but he would never look at the lasting hurt she caused those two and actively chose to persue a friendship with her.
anyway getting off my anti-shannon soap box and i just needed to get that off my chest lamo
I feel the same way about my brother, when he gets to s7 i already told him he cant like him.
If my mom is a tommy fan I’m disowning her
I was talking to a friend earlier and it got me thinking about something.
B*mmy stans project all of the stuff they do onto us to an extent I've never seen with any other fandom discourse before.
They call us homophobic for not liking B/T or T*mmy. Yet they hate on people for shipping Buddie or seeing Eddie as queer. To the point of harassing people for including Eddie and Buddie in pride posts. Continually harassing the 911news account and even trying to dox a journalist for posting about Buddie.
They call us delusional for having watched two men love and support one another for 6 going on 7 years and for thinking there could be something more than friendship there. Even though Oliver, Ryan, and Tim have all said they see what we see. Yet they've seen Buck kiss a guy twice, have very minimal screen time or development and they headcanon that they're in love and will get married in the coming season.
They say we fetishize Buddie. Yet most of the time when our fandom is discussing our ship we're talking about the emotional connection between them. Or how we want to see them finally be together in a canon romantic relationship or as a full fledged family (with Chris). Or have their first kiss. Meanwhile most of their posts are the kind of sex they headcanon Buck and T*mmy have. Hell after that that dinner scene tons of them changed their urls to something with daddy in it (referencing the out of place daddy kink joke). To be clear there's nothing wrong with headcanons about fictional characters sex lives. But the main reason most of us ship Buddie is not just because they're two hot guys who we want to think about f*cking, it's because we're invested in the story of their life together. The same can't be said for B/T.
They say we feminize Buck for Buddie:
Meanwhile most of their fics/art/headcanons involve T*mmy being the big strong protector rescuing the "damsel in distress" Buck. They constantly talk about how hot it is that T*mmy is this big older "daddy" firefighter who can take care of Buck and guide him in what it means to be in a m|m relationship.
They say we've made Buck's coming out all about Buddie but 1. Eddie and Buck's feelings for him were heavily included in Buck's bi awakening ep. 2. They have made T*mmy synonymous with buck's coming out to the point of saying Buck wouldn't have even realized he liked men without T*mmy. They've even said that if T*mmy and Buck were to break up in s8 that it would ruin Buck's coming out story.
They accuse our fandom of being mean and of harassing the actors including of sending death threats to Lou. Of chasing Lou off of social media and being the one who caused him to stop his cameos. They say we're the reason Oliver chooses not interact with Lou or anything B/T related online. When there has been no proof of any of this. Meanwhile there is proof from their own fandom that Oliver and Ryan have blocked some of them. They have repeatedly tried to pressure Oliver to interact with B/T posts and Lou. They were also leaving comments on the the video of the podcast Ryan did (with Tommy DiDario) where he talked about his s*icide attempt, telling him he should have finished the job.
They call us a cult or BoBs (Buddie or Bust) yet they dress up like Lou and would still be paying for his videos if he was still willing to put them out. They prioritize Lou/T*mmy above any other character on the show. They talk about how T*mmy should get a begins episode. How T*mmy should be a main character. They defend everything T*mmy has ever done including when he was racist and homophobic to Chim and Hen. They harass anyone who has a negative word to say about their ship or Lou or T*mmy much like a cult would protect their leader. They to this day act like everything Lou ever told them in his cameos is the gospel truth.
911 fandom has grown increasingly toxic ever since B/T became a thing and I honestly just can't wait for the day we either find out T*mmy isn't coming back or when his last ep will be. I mean in some ways our fandom won't ever be the same after this. I've seen a lot of ugly sides to people who I had followed for years as Buddie shippers.
It will never not confuse the hell out of me that some people who were big time Buddie shippers for years not only dropped Buddie but turned completely against the ship and our fandom. And all for a ship that is seriously underdeveloped and one that it's clear the show is telling us in flashing neon lights isn't meant to last.
Some of them clearly got the point of Tim's call-out.
Q. What did you make of Tim's interview? I realize the bulk was Lonestar but the fandom stuff was interestingly phrased. The fact that so many people involved with the show, and now the showrunner himself, are openly discussing how bad things are cannot be a good sign. I know we had some fans who were saying we could 'bully' Tim and the show into giving us more Tommy but I think that was a massive mistake in hindsight. I think certain people got carried away and went way too far. Weather their intentions were ever bad or not I just think some people took the bullying idea too far. I'm a little worried we may not see Tommy at all now.
A. The bullying idea was always going to be a massive mistake. Normally you can take Tim's interviews with a bit of 'lol, why is he so dramatic' because he's not immune to getting his feelings hurt, and using his interviews to tell people that. In this case though it was definitely a direct callout. I have been here from the beginning and the show has never experienced anything close to what they have experienced this off-season. It's one thing to root for a particular show ship it's another thing entirely to openly send, and openly encourage others, to send hate to the cast and creators of a show. Then those same fans dragged the lighting director, director of photography, show directors and professional media members who have covered the show for years into their bullying game as well. It was insane, pathetically immature behavior. At times it was also incredibly disturbing. And every single bit of it can be traced back to the cameo videos. The second the storyline they were paying to be told didn't match the storyline we were actually watching they revolted.
And unfortunately because I think Tim, and ABC, just didn't think they were anything worth paying attention to initially, he was allowed to do them way too long. The more he did the more obsessed with him that particular group of people became. This has nothing to do with 911. Those people aren't at all interested in 911. Their entire interest is Lou and Lou alone. It's a small group of people. A small sick group of people who created a bunch of separate accounts in order to appear to be more people than they actually are (and they were stupid enough to openly admit that is what they did). Then that small group of people got together and from every single one of their many accounts they attacked as a group. They started with Oliver. They pointed out that Oliver wasn't interacting with Lou or engaging with any of them, or B/T content, and decided, at least initially, that he was solely to blame for B/T not getting the attention they thought it deserved, again the Buck part they don't care about. They were upset that they weren't seeing more of Tommy and they blamed Oliver for that. Suddenly Oliver was being tagged in posts that were calling him unprofessional, immature, bratty, selfish, and because of course, homophobic (they're really not a bright group of people). However instead of taking their bait and engaging with them, Oliver, rightly, blocked them. Meaning they needed a new target. Briefly it became Tim because their moronic leader screenshot a message she sent him that he, stupidly, responded to. She took that and spun and ENTIRE relationship theory and spread it through her many accounts. Tim then admitted in another comment that he actually didn't know what she was talking about but didn't want to be rude by continuing to ignore her so he responded to her. He then said that was a mistake and he wouldn't be responding to anything else. And he hasn't (she should be very embarrassed by his interview today because he may as well have used her name). And the show also continued to not align with her/their theory and they got more upset. Then found a new target.
Throughout the season Oliver did what Oliver has always done. Oliver posted, liked and promoted Eddie/Buddie/Buckley Diaz family content. He has always done this. This was nothing new. But it infuriated Lou's fans and they turned their anger on Ryan. Suddenly Eddie was the worst character in the history of television. He was an abuser (to Buck especially), he was a user (of Buck especially). He was a terrible friend (to Buck especially). Depending on the day he was either a deadbeat dad or obsessed with his kid in an unhealthy way (they couldn't ever really decide which way to go on this one. That opinion was dependent on how the poster felt about Chris). When that attack didn't really get the attention they were begging for, they changed direction and made it personal. Post after post, that Ryan was always tagged in, calling him racist, a deadbeat dad, an asshole, unprofessional, manipulative and controlling of Oliver (wtf, god they really are a stupid group of people), a whore (I actually read that one myself, it was a trip), a terrible actor that only has a job because Tim thinks he's hot. And so on and so on. At first Tommy didn't kiss Eddie because Ryan is homophobic and refused to do the storyline, then Tim, very publicly, corrected that lie so Lou's fans had to pivot and said Lou actually refused to do the Eddie storyline because he knows Ryan isn't a good guy ( a special kind of crazy that makes me need to drink ). Then they sunk to their sickest, lowest, most pathetic, vile, disturbing, and inexcusable moment. Ryan did a podcast where he discussed his past mental health struggles and suicidal thoughts. They went into the comments on the podcast and told Ryan that they wish he had committed suicide. That if he had killed himself then Tommy could have his screen time and they wouldn't have to see Buck have scenes with Eddie. Not only did they leave those comments (the podcast has since deleted most of them, thankfully), they sent similar messages directly to Ryan on Instagram. Knowing he would see them. It was appalling and very, very disturbing. The cameo videos ended fairly shortly after. These people are sick. They get zero sympathy or understanding from me. It's a fucking television show. Tommy is not a real person. Ryan is a real person.
As for maybe not seeing Tommy at all, I would imagine conversations have certainly taken place. He was never sticking around permanently. The conversations most likely involved deciding if they needed him at all, and if they did, how many actual scenes did they need him for. I don't work on the show, but if they decided he wasn't necessary to the storyline, and they could get away with his stuff happening off screen I would imagine he's been dismissed. They probably decided they needed him at least for a few scenes though. Unless other things happened behind the scenes we're not aware of he will be around the first few episodes at least and then and probably no more. He can take his tiny army with him when he leaves. No one will miss them.
Okay, just ... yeah, all of this. It's crazy how these people did all of these horrible things in the name of... a ship? I mean, what?
I've been in fandom for a very long time and I have been shipping characters for a very long time, but I've never seen behaviour like this. Behaviour where people think they are justified to bully, harass and vilify the actors playing a character on a TV-show. To the point where they get blocked by the actors and crew.
I don't understand what would drive someone to do that? I genuinly don't.
These are the kind of people that need to put down their phones forever, go outside and touch all the grass they can touch. After that they should never watch 911 again. If you don't like something, just walk away. I have done that before. Shows don't always go where a fan wants it to go.
Look. I want Buddie. You all know that. I'm 99% certain that we're getting Buddie in season 8. But, if it turns out we won't, which is always a possibility since I don't know what Tim is cooking up, I will be disappointed, but I won't start spewing hatred all over the place. I will just take a step back and focus on other things in life. I'll keep shipping Buddie and read fanfiction. I'll be fine here in my Buddie corner of the Internet with my Buddie mutuals.
So yeah, this is insane behaviour to me. I truly don't get it.
Thanks Nonny for dropping this in my inbox!

For season 8 I want a call back to the what a man scene and that's how buck realizes he has a crush on Eddie.
Pretty sure you don't get to call our entire fandom homophobic or a cult when it's become a battle cry for your fandom to scream out canon anytime anyone so much as hints at Eddie being anything but straight. Also let's not forget that multiple people in your fandom attacked anyone who tried to celebrate Eddie and Buddie for pride month including journalists who review the show and the 911news account. Oh and as for being a cult. You can call Buddie a cult when we all all start posting pictures of ourselves dressed in a shirt we bought that we saw Ryan wear one time in a video we paid $200 for.
I love this little shot because it reveals so much. Everyone's left, even Buck's date. The party is a bust. But who stayed behind? Eddie, who has his ass solidly parked on the banquette, doesn't look at the door even once and who clearly never even considered the idea of leaving like the others. Eddie knew Chimney didn't want the party to start with; he reminded Buck of that seconds after this shot. Eddie is there for BUCK.
Eddie Diaz, who probably has the most conservative and conventional wardrobe of all the mains on the show, bought himself an improbable (and probably expensive) pink suit, which HE suggested and coordinated with his best friend, arranged a sleepover for his kid, and got to the karaoke place earlier than everyone else...but still got told by Buck that he was late, which means Buck expected him even earlier and therefore Eddie probably helped him organize the whole thing. He did all of that for a party that, because he is not as willfully oblivious as Buck, he probably suspected Chimney might not attend. He did it because Buck had his heart set on it for some reason and he wanted to make him happy.
Eddie is there purely for Buck. They're each other's ride or die. No matter the way the party was to go, Eddie was always going to stay. And Buck knows that on some level, because you can see in his attitude that he's taking for granted that Eddie is staying, too. They're a unit and they're in this together.

I always laugh when people paint Peeta as a soft, innocent, almost a push over type of guy. Like this boy was eating Katniss up in arguments, making innuendos while on his deathbed, and beating up guys if they threaten his girl. Like come on now.
its dogshit takes like "Eddie is white-passing so he would help gerrard terrorize the 118" that make me wanna go outside and wat dirt. like some of u guys are so internally racist it makes me start scratching at my walls. Like yeah EDMUNDO DIAZ is definitely passing as white with a name like that. are you guys dumb? do u really think a captain wouldn't read the paperwork on his employee's? not to mention that eddie is not even close to white passing like u can look at that man and see he is a POC so fast.. deranged.
But lets just say hypothetically Eddie was white-passing.. he still grew up with a mexican father, grandma, aunt, cousin, etc. like i think u guys sometimes forget eddie has a life outside of the 118. We literally see ONLY his mexican family. Theyve showed pepa and isabel in multiple episodes. do you really honestly think he would let some random decaying white man speak bad about his family like that? like the way yall are acting towards Eddie is BLOWING me... Just say u hate biracials and want to use poc to prop up your favorite white guy of the week.
