So we've got
- New, more progressive network
- Showrunner change (aka the Buddie hater is gone)
- Tim posting a bunch of Buddie stills on his facebook before the season even started airing
- ABC choosing Oliver and Ryan to do most of the promo stuff and mostly together
- This picture (just the fact that they took one just the two of them)
- So many interviews talking about Buck and Eddie's relationship
- A bunch of quotes from Ryan including: "we get closer than ever this season", "there's a lot of changes in the relationship", "we're trying to give the audience what they want", "the writers have taken note"
- Tim's use of "right now"
- Tim talking about Tommy as if he's not sticking around forever
- The underlying sexual tension line
- The "you're not planning on jumping ship are you?"
- Eddie being so involved in Buck's self discovery storyline (even when it's indirectly)
- Family Feud???
- Buck being canonically bi
And I'm not supposed to think Buddie is going canon??
I feel like going on a blocking spree on x/twitter, I can’t deal with all the hate for Oliver, for no reason, on my tl from supernatural fans and bt stans
Can we talk about how “Uncle Buck” was never a thing before Jee-Yun? I mean, if we analyze the facts, we’ll see that Buck has been there for Eddie and Chris pretty much since day one. He cooks, he cleans, he plays with him, he stays overnight, takes him when Eddie’s busy, takes him to places, gives him gifts and helps when he’s not feeling well, I mean he LITERALLY saved him from a tsunami -and nearly killed himself trying to find him-. This shit is so fucking canon Eddie added Buck to his WILL, he told him “there’s no one I trust with my son more than you” over the women that he allegedly cared for and loved so much… we never hear anything remotely close to uncle or “friend of the family”. Even in the crossover when Eddie talks to Marjan about Buck helping him build the skateboard, he never explains who Buck is (which, if I were in that situation, I’d say “this blonde dude, yeah he’s like family too”), he simply says Buck, because that on ITSELF (!!!!) says it all. Y’all can give me all the shit y’all want but Uncle Buck was never a thing before Jee-Yun, because he was never an uncle before. He was a dad. A co-parent. And if he was a woman, Eddie & him would’ve been together long before all our crazy asses decided to even come here so that’s that on that & goodnight

i hope those two firefighters kiss. i haven't watched a single episode of this show but i have seen the fandom and i believe in their beliefs
So many people who I used to follow for Buddie gifs/content have blocked me now because I don't like Lou or B/T. I've heard similar stories from other Buddie shippers who've been blocked left and right from people they used to follow. I don't get how a fandom could crumble so much over such a short amount of time all because of a ship that has had so little development. I mean the show didn't even bother to define whether or not they're boyfriends or what by the end of the season. Did so many of you really only care about seeing two men kiss? I don't get how you can claim to care about Buck's happiness when he's with a guy who doesn't seem to get him or care about his thoughts and feelings.
I get that we aren't all always going to like the same ships and I get that some people multi ship but a lot of Buddie shippers have totally dropped Buddie and now say either they don't care if it happens or they fully believe T*mmy is Buck's endgame. It's just so weird to me. I can't imagine loving a ship for years hoping it would go canon only to get this close to it actually happening and completely turn on that ship and it's fandom all because one guy showed up and had like 5 minutes of screen time.
was just having lunch w my mom and ranting about buddie and what i like about you started playing in the restaurant so i am taking that as a sign from the universe that buddie is going canon
I love this little shot because it reveals so much. Everyone's left, even Buck's date. The party is a bust. But who stayed behind? Eddie, who has his ass solidly parked on the banquette, doesn't look at the door even once and who clearly never even considered the idea of leaving like the others. Eddie knew Chimney didn't want the party to start with; he reminded Buck of that seconds after this shot. Eddie is there for BUCK.
Eddie Diaz, who probably has the most conservative and conventional wardrobe of all the mains on the show, bought himself an improbable (and probably expensive) pink suit, which HE suggested and coordinated with his best friend, arranged a sleepover for his kid, and got to the karaoke place earlier than everyone else...but still got told by Buck that he was late, which means Buck expected him even earlier and therefore Eddie probably helped him organize the whole thing. He did all of that for a party that, because he is not as willfully oblivious as Buck, he probably suspected Chimney might not attend. He did it because Buck had his heart set on it for some reason and he wanted to make him happy.
Eddie is there purely for Buck. They're each other's ride or die. No matter the way the party was to go, Eddie was always going to stay. And Buck knows that on some level, because you can see in his attitude that he's taking for granted that Eddie is staying, too. They're a unit and they're in this together.
