Sweet nothings whispered into the ears of her would be progeny; a young, human man on the brink of unconsciousness in the alley of some lowly bar. Her senses lit up by the blood seeping from the knife wound at his side put there by other humans. Most of whom she had let go - a strategic move. A space left on the chessboard to move a pawn. The dying human would view her as his savior and, along with the frenzy of newly acquired vampiric senses, wish for vengeance on those who had attacked him. Violence and rage she could mould in her hands like putty. Allowing him his revenge and bloodlust would only make him more grateful to her, more malleable. Just what she needed in the perfect soldier. Sharp, red nails adorn slender fingers that move back the hair on his bruised, swollen face, eyes lulling back into his skull. Fangs extend, ready to inject her venom, when she is interrupted by a familiar voice.

Maria's browns do their own roll back into her skull before she drops the human with far less grace than she'd been deploying for her earlier performance of a gentle, angelic saviour. The flow had been ruined! She turns to face the younger vampire, fangs snapping back into her mouth but her disdain still saturating her features. "And why not?" Arms fold across her chest as heeled boots saunter closer to Spike, dark eyes peering up at him. "Last I checked this was my jurisdiction." She stops in front of him, but with a safe enough distance between them if she had to make a speedy exit. He may have been a younger vampire but Maria was not fool enough to take him in combat alone. "It's been a long time, William. What brings you to Mexico?"

Brows furrow at his obvious attempt at deflection, a sort of feigned concern - though she is concerned at the way he had shut her out. It had left a sting that the Mexican queen didn't want to admit felt a little bit too much like rejection. Something she wasn't all too familiar with. He had been her faithful servant, yes, but he had also been something else none of his successors had managed to live up to. The power they shared together unrivalled, how did he not still crave it? She was there to make sure he remembered what he was missing.

As she closes in, Maria reaches a slender hand toward his, inspecting the vice between his fingers as she pulls it closer. "Married life stressing you out?" Lifting his hand closer, she places her own crimson lips around the cigarette, exhaling the smoke toward her escaped soldiers handsome face. Her latest kill is sure to still linger on her breath. They had always loved to share a kill.

A sharp nail traces his defined jaw. If she dug hard enough she was sure she'd find all the marks she'd left on him there just under the surface. That he wouldn't forget who he belonged to. "You know I should really kill you for betraying me like you did." A playful smirk as her finger lures him closer. She won't, of course. Not yet. Not there, she wasn't foolish enough to try and take Jasper Whitlock in combat alone. "But I'm going to give you a second chance to come home."

The major merely arched an unimpressed brow in her direction as she spoke. Though he was mentally reeling at the sight of his sire in Denali, Jasper wasn’t about to give her the sort of reception she was doubtlessly looking for. He was no longer her loyal attack dog, following at her heels and bending to her every whim. He didn’t have to answer her unless he chose to. And yet, he couldn’t resist. Even knowing Alice was in the house some distance away, Maria was still as magnetic as ever.

“Bit far from Mexico, aren’t you, cariño?” He finally asked without giving her other questions any response, the endearment sounding almost sarcastic on his tongue as he idly flicked ash off the end of the cigarette that had brought him out in the snow to begin with.

I've always wondered this, because I have no self control/organisation skills but how do you guys best utilise the queue? being australian I'm always online at mostly off peak hours and so it would probably be better to post some things on the queue but if you get muse for a reply right away is it common practice to just post it anyway?
