I’m proud to identify as morosexual. I’m attracted to dumbasses and dumbasses exclusively. A guy asked me what the Spanish word for tortilla was once and now I dream of kissing him under the moonlight

God I miss Double life
The idea came to me in a vision
ID below the cut (thanks to the person that added it!)
[Image description: Three colored panels featuring Joel, Grian, and Scar from the Double Life SMP. In the first panel, Joel glances at Grian, who is standing with his arms crossed and saying, “So. . . he’s my soulmate. . . Erm. . . Thoughts?” In the second panel, Joel silently stares at Scar, who is cheerfully frolicking with an allay. Joel turns back to Grian with his brows furrowed and expression shadowed and says, “And prayers!” A watermark in the bottom right corner of each panel reads, “@Coffit0 / Don’t repost”. I do miss the funky ninja
feeling real normal and fine over the fact that scar said “you can have a monopoly” while handing grian cacti. as they stood together in the sand. that is the Closest acknowledgement either of them have ever gotten to the cactus ring.
do you think that was scar’s way of trying to tell grian he misses him? that he truly does forgive him? that he never held anything against him for how things ended up on that mountain oh so long ago?
do you think that’s scar’s way of truly reaching out to him, saying it while talking in slightly more direct circles. that they can be okay again?
do you think, as scar holds the thorns of the cacti in his hands, feels them prick his skin (if he imagines, they feel like the thorns of a beautiful rose), he’s really just taking grian’s rough hands in his own and saying it’s okay.
scar gave grian that monopoly as forgiveness, I think.
Underrated part about Ninjago is how they use EVERY opportunity for character interactions.
It’s not just limited to casual scenes where “Okay it’s time for these two characters to talk and bond”
There is almost never a moment in the show where the characters, especially the leads, are just standing there. There’s always some sort of interaction going on, even if it’s minor.
Action scene? There’s still banter.
Exposition dump? There’s still banter.
It’s a small thing, but one that sells the main characters bond as a team that much more. It also makes scenes boring on paper feel memorable in viewers mind.
There’s usually someone making fun of someone’s bad puns. Or just each other. That’s why most of Kai’s roasts on Jay and his sister for example are quotable.
There’s usually something going on in the background. Like when Lloyd and Nya are talking about their plan to face the Ice Emperor, there’s the others in the background getting assaulted by a hammock.
Even in what should be a dry scene about plot exposition, there’s some sort of interaction happening. Kai being high on snake venom. Jay interrupting a backstory to question the wording. Nya nagging Cole’s babysitting tactics and Jay stabbing Kai’s hand with a fork.
Take other shows where the large cast of characters are just standing there and/or just talking about the exposition and nothing else. Not that they would never interact, it’s usually just scenes that are designed specifically for interaction.
Not only does it make Ninjago more fun, but it also makes the bond between this decent sized lead cast feel real.
If I need to bribe you all with more dbhc content I will and that’s a promise. Vote jimmy <3
