sometimes i forget this but like its ok to have a lot of lore for ur selfships and its ok to have like no lore for ur selfships. its cool to have pages on pages of headcanons and fics and drawings and its ok to just see a character and go that's my f/o now. its epic to have a fully fleshed out s/i and tons of ideas and its pog to have none at all. don't be too hard on yourself or ever feel any less valid for not having as much detail to your ships as others and never feel bad or annoying about having too much either cause it's not possible and there's no one right way to selfship

Imagine your F/O just being absolutely lovesick over you. They walk through town and see you everywhere, random things like a snack or a shirt they think you’d like. Somewhere they wanna take you, or a plushie they want to get you as a gift.

Them spacing out during the day, maybe at work, thinking about you. Friends and family members catching them daydreaming and they just respond “Oh! It’s nothing, just got distracted.”

How after the two of you hang out, they look at the place you were sitting and just, ache. That you’re not there anymore. How they try not to look desperate when you text them, thinking that maybe if they wait a minute to open your messages, they won’t have to confront how down BAD they are for you.

Maybe they even swap clothes with you, maybe they take a shirt, or a hoodie or sweater from you, playing it off as a joke or just “something friends do”. But when they get home, it’s wrapped around their favorite pillow, or they wear it around the house sometimes just so they can feel close to you.

Fuck, they really are hung up on you, do they have the courage to actually confess their feelings? Or are they gonna draw it out until they absolutely HAVE to do it.

Ooh. Please please make more self-inserts. Not only is it fun you have no idea how much it can help you be kind to yourself. Have the hero of the franchise fall in love with you for what you think are your annoying quirks. Have the wisest man in that fictional world, tell others that your are the kindest and the smartest person he has ever met. Have the evil guy fall for you and revoke his evil ways cuz youre just that hot. Allow yourself to be loved by the fictional characters you look up to and in time you may also begin see how wonderful you really are.

Your f/o adores you. They cherish the ways in which you express yourself. They see the way you live, as yourself, and that is the most beautiful thing in this great wide world to them. Even just doing anything, the way you listen to that song on loop or your laugh when something truly entertains you. How you show them so much appreciation, how you act you wake up and go to sleep. Everything about you, to them, is the beauty of existing all put into one individual. And they find it (and you!) breathtaking.

btw ur allowed to take ur selfship as seriously or as unseriously as u like. as long as it’s good for u and it makes u happy, u can do whatever u want. it’s not “too much” <3
