MORE ALIEN SAILOR MOON PLS AND THANKS
Haha! I’m glad you liked those! I might try to revisit those ideas in the future, when I’m not getting my ass handed to me by grad school.
Experiment with making small squares and then weaving them together. MAJOR practice piece. May do more with this, may leave it as-is. Designs based on Paracas textiles.

"Soft Hands"

I was looking at a bunch of pictures of 'creepy cute' fashion and I was struck by how... un-creepy all of it was. It was the usual conventionally attractive, cisgender, able-bodied women wearing pastel-color clothes, with the occasional skull or drippy goo thrown in to be 'creepy.' When I saw an image of an ectrodactylic hand, I genuinely found it to be incredibly cute. The skin looked so soft and there were so many different colors in it. I wanted to paint it to show how cute it looked, how anything can be cute, even the bodies and people that others may find creepy or disturbing. Why can't this hand be cute? Why can't disabled or transgender or fat people be cute? I can assure you, they can feel cute and they can desire to be seen as cute by others. tl;dr fuck your fascist cuteness standards.

Dreamed that I was on a road trip with some friends. The car was very full, so I had to sit crouched on the shoulder of the passenger seat. The person seated in the passenger seat looked like Benedict Cumberbatch and I think we were dating. We drove through a small southern town, and I could tell where the queer kids hung out. A bar and a hair salon and a gas station, with 80's goth queer kids hanging out in front, smoking and drinking. On one hand, I was envious that these queers knew just where to go to meet people like themselves, but on the other hand I recognized how few of them were in that small town and how isolated they must feel. We drove along a high way at night. The person shifted from looking like Benedict Cumberbatch, to looking like W., to looking like A., and then finally looking like a combination of all three of them. I told him that I wasn't good at dancing. When a song came on the radio, he pulled over on the side of the highway and left the car door open so that the music could be heard outside. On the side of the road at night, he rested his hands on the small of my back and we danced slowly. The roadtrip (and the dream) ended with us sitting in a forest clearing, dressed in togas, watching a production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream."
am about to read preacher: is there any heads up yall want to give me before i dive in? i tried searching online and didnt see any post related to my Q so hope am not being annoying
If you sent me a question about Preacher, I haven’t received it. Maybe tumblr ate the message? So, not knowing what your question is specifically, general content warnings for Preacher that I would give are lots and lots of explicit violence, drug and alcohol abuse, rape, domestic violence, child abuse, referenced/off-screen bestiality and pedophilia, use of racial slurs, religiously motivated child abuse, basically all characters that experience same-gender attraction are in some way evil, and there is a huge lack of people of color in any capacity. Oh, and lots of blasphemy, if that’s a problem for you.
Christina the Astonishing

A gift for a therapist.
Christina the Astonishing was a woman in the 13th century who, around the age of 20, had a seizure so severe that friends and family thought she had died. During her funeral service, Christina levitated out of her grave, and up to the roof of the cathedral. When Christina came to land upon the church altar, she told the congregation that she had seen Hell, Purgatory, and Heaven. In Heaven she asked for angels to return her to Earth so she might lead others to salvation.
Christina claimed she could sense the sins of others, and they pained her. To escape this, she levitated into the tops of high trees.
She is sometimes considered the patron saint of therapists, mental health workers, and the mentally ill.

I’ve decided this will actually be my test weave... gonna start the whole thing over because I have brainworms.
All this work and I’ve concluded I’m gonna have to cut it up to harvest some of the yarn for the next one! The custom multicolor yarns that I made. The issue is those plain weave sections are uhhhh almost 4 ft long. If I reduce the number of picks, I can reduce the length of the plain weave section by half and have a lot more room for cool stuff.
Doing insane shit with string today
A friend texted this to me "In my dream last night you were in this enormous cardboard Halloween costume that made you look like a section of wall cut out of a retail store. You rolled around while children picked items off your outfit." What a good dream about me.
Can you send a link/show anyway to view your Therapist Bobby Hill comics?
