Air Ghouls (My Interpretation):

Based on some kind of bird or flying animal (moths, etc)

very light (hollow but robust bones)

smaller than other species

noses are “beaks” → not as hard as the one of a real bird but still firm

good vision

feathers puff up with emotion

Ear holes under their feather tufts

move soundlessly

Markings are usually on their backs

Ewan & Cody argument from Chapter 15 of my first novel „Tarabris“ (formerly known as Dragon‘s Ashes)

Writing those two fighting/bickering is so incredibly funny but also disturbing to me for some reason. Like on one hand, they‘re one of my favourite OC ships and I don’t want them to fight at all but on the other hand they’re two teenagers, kidnapping each other. Anyways, I like how this illustration turned out so y’all get to see it too

Long, sleek bodies

slimy, wet skin (some are poisonous to the touch)

have lungs as well as gills

webbed fingers and toes

pupils are usually long slits

bioluminescent spots, some glow more than others

Small ear holes behind the webbed structures on their faces
