Death & The Afterlife for Hylics: An Archeologist’s Theory

In times beyond recollection, the act of dying was once a permanent affair.

The body would cease and decay until only the bones remained, and after that an organism could give nothing more to its world. The one-lifes feared it above all else and did whatever they could with their sciences to hold it back as long as possible. All the way up until the planet’s final melancholic shedding re-texturized its surface to this new dominion of clay.

To the hylic, however, death is simply an unremarkable daytrip away from life as the flesh and will melt down into that hazy, primordial land known only as the Afterlife.
