Ignorance is Bliss (Bakugou x Reader)

Summary: Confessing to you has turned into quite the hassle for Bakugou, as you seem to be totally oblivious to every single one of his ideas. From notes to jewelry, you don’t notice a single thing he tries to anonymously give you. Surely you weren’t that ignorant, were you?

A/N: I desire sleep. I just wanna sleep…. Anyways, here’s another Bakugou oneshot, because it’s just so easy to get ideas for him. This time, poor explody boy’s just confused. Again, thank you guys so much for the likes and follows, and please enjoy!

Word count: 3349

        To Bakugou you were… tolerable. However, in his case, those were pretty high marks. And it was because you were so tolerable that he found himself okay with the idea of hanging out with you more. He was fine with seeing you around after school, or maybe at the movies. Maybe even in his dorm room- okay, he was crushing on you. Hard. Hard enough that he found himself wanting to ask you out.

        At first, Bakugou tried to ask for the annoying redhead’s help, but that didn’t work out so well.

        “What about getting her candy and a teddy bear, and then telling her how you feel? Girls like that stuff,” Kirishima had innocently suggested.

        “What is she, five? Fuck no.” He shut down his sturdy friend instantly. After that, the blond had told his companion that he would figure it out on his own. If on his own meant he used Google. To be fair, it was the only other resource Bakugou could depend on at this point. So he searched up what girls like, and found a whole bunch of mumbo jumbo he didn’t really have the money for, but they were worth trying out anyway. The first thing on the list? Flowers. All right, he could afford that.

        The next day, the blond hero-in-training barged into class much earlier than he ever had, even earlier than the loud-mouthed class captain, and plopped down a hefty bouquet of roses along with a small note attached saying who it was from in the middle of your desk. And then he waited.

        When you finally showed up, Bakugou was practically snoring in his chair, reclined back with a small dribble of drool crawling down his chin. You didn’t greet him, but you never did, so that wasn’t unexpected. What was, however, was your reaction to his gift.

        “Who the fuck left their garden on my seat?” you exclaimed with disdain. The volume was loud enough to jumpstart the blond from his slumber. He furrowed his brows at your question, now wide awake. Here’s the thing, Bakugou knew you were a cusser. It was one of the few things he liked about you. But the fact that you had cussed at his gift... well, that kind of ticked him off.

        “What’s wrong with them?” he demanded, but before you could respond, a loud sneeze echoed around the room.

        Sniffing harshly, you untucked your face from your elbow and inspected the damage before replying, “I’m allergic to their pollen, dumbass.” Pinching the bouquet’s stems between your thumb and forefinger, you held it as far away from your face as you could while you carried it over to the trash. Bakugou’s voice stuck in his throat before he could try to stop you, so he could only watch in horror as you hovered the gift over the plastic bin. Watching his personal note work free from between two stems, the blond clenched his jaw and seethed silently when it gracefully floated to the bottom of the empty bin.

        “Aww, YN, are you really throwing those roses away? They’re so pretty!” Uraraka spoke up, just then stepping into the classroom. She pouted sadly at the sight.

        “Well, do you want them?” you offered, extending Bakugou’s gift towards her.

        “Umm sure. I guess I’ll take them if you really don’t want them!” she agreed, accepting the bouquet and taking a whiff before thanking you. As you told her it was no problem, Bakugou curled his hands into fists and sneered.

        “You’ve gotta be kidding me.”

                                ###

        That night, the blond student consulted his old friend Google once more for advice, leering over his glowing laptop and scouring for anything that might help him woo you. “A poem, huh? Ugh, do girls really like that sappy shit?” You best believe he copied one of Shakespeare’s most popular pieces and dropped it off at your door signed with his name the next morning. Plagiarism be damned, he really wanted to go out with you. After watching the love note flutter to the ground face-down, he quickly knocked on your door and rushed away, peeking out from the wall of another hallway while he waited for you to answer.

        “Okay, who the fu- what the hell?” you wondered aloud, whipping open your door and angrily peering out only to see no one. Glancing around, your eyes finally spotted the white paper on the floor. Lifting it up, you observed the backside of the note with a scrunched nose. Shrugging dismissively, you crumble up the slip of paper with both hands while grumbling under your breath, “Fucking litterers,” before throwing the ball into the trash can outside your door. After you returned inside your room, Bakugou came out from behind the wall and stared at where you had stood, totally and utterly dumbfounded. Were you really that stupid? Surely you were kidding with him, right? You didn’t seriously just throw away his love letter after only looking at the blank side, did you?

        Shaking his head, Bakugou abruptly remembered that yes, you have done dumber things. Just thinking off the top of his head, he could remember many incidents where you completely amazed him with your own idiocy before he ever thought much of your presence. For example, one time you had been so tired that you had run into the wall directly next to Class 1-A’s entrance, then proceeded to yell at it, “Move dumbass!” So yes, yes he could believe you had just thrown away his confession note obliviously. Bakugou shook his head at the memory before rubbing his temples, walking back to his own room to plot yet another tactic of confession.

                                ###

        Google was a godsend, and had provided him with the perfect gift. Jewelry! How had he completely managed to forget how much women love jewelry. Over the weekend, Bakugou had managed to convince Kirishima to buy him a necklace for you, one that was “your style.” In the end, his redheaded classmate arrived at school on Monday with a silver heart encasing a crimson stone on a metal chain. After silently thanking Kirishima with a small nod, Bakugou couldn’t help the small curl of the corners of his mouth while he lifted the locket up to glimmer in the fluorescent light of the classroom. His hard-headed companion, however, seemed a little disappointed in the gift.

        “Look dude, I really don’t think YN is going to like that. She’s not really that kind of girl,” Kirishima insisted, a little concerned at how his friend would react if yet another confession plan failed.

        “Trust me, this time I’ll get her. Plus, you know how all women love jewelry, it’s foolproof,” Bakugou assured his friend with a smirk eyes still set on the necklace. Patting Kirishima on the chest, the blond gestured for him to observe as he set down the necklace on your desk and made his way back, both preparing to watch your reaction. The redhead pursed his lips and bit them anxiously while his friend squinted with impatience. Finally, you entered the classroom and Bakugou had to hold back a fist pump. After all, he wasn’t victorious yet. Sitting down in your seat, you didn’t appear to notice the necklace, and the blond flinched harshly when you ignorantly dropped your bag on top of it. An apologetic hand settled onto his shoulder, and Bakugou was too stunned at your utter obliviousness to things right in front of you to shrug off Kirishima.

                                ###

        He had watched you all day in class, and nothing. You hadn’t acknowledged the necklace at all, and you didn’t even notice when your notebook had accidentally pushed it off the table. The future hero’s eye twitched and his hands began to tingle in irritation. You had to be screwing with him! How ignorant could you be?

        It wasn’t until after school when he discovered you had, in fact, noticed the necklace, but for all the wrong reasons. Miserably dragging his feet to his room, he had passed the common area, only to hear your heart-stopping voice. Halting in his tracks, he backtracked until he could see you and the pink freak standing in the middle of the room and conversing. Eavesdropping slightly, he leaned his head in to hear better.

        “Oh YN, that’s so cute,” Ashido gushed, holding her hands to her cheeks as she observed the necklace you held in between the two of you. “Who gave it to yo-”

        “How much do you think it could sell for?” you asked distractedly, scrutinizing the gem in the center of the silver heart before peering back up at your classmate curiously.

        “Well, i-isn’t it a gift?” she replied, her usually bright voice dropping with a lilt of uncertainty.

        “I don’t know,” you shrugged casually, “I just found it lying around.” Umm, no. Bakugou vividly remembered setting it down quite obviously in the center of your desk. Maybe you needed a nice, new pair of glasses. That could be his next gift.

        Mina shifted excitedly from foot-to-foot with her hands folded in front of her heart before enthusiastically suggesting, “Well, why don’t you just keep it? It is really pretty!”

        Pursing your lips, you looked at her with an “are you serious” face before promptly responding, “Because it’s not mine, duh. That would be rude, Mina.”

        Distractedly peering back down at the necklace, you made your way to the exit of the common area with Ashido bewilderedly shouting after you, “And selling it isn’t?!”

                                ###

        In a last ditch effort to grab your attention and confess, Bakugou made his way to the mall and searched for a clothing store you seemed to absolutely adore. On many of your clothes resided the word “Pink,” and the blonde student could distantly remember his mom always dragging through malls and passing by a shop with the exact same name.

        Now, as he stood in front of the bright, highly feminine store, he couldn’t help but sneer disgustedly at its neighbor. Shuddering (and blushing) at the sight, he stepped into the original store, only to bare his teeth at the sight of the one register being in the connecting room. In that store. Bakugou groaned aloud, attracting attention from most of the customers and workers in the area. Snarling back at them, the blond continued to his original goal, wandering into the other, darker half of the shop.

        “Why the hell are they the same store?!” he muttered to himself with a grossed out expression, all while keeping his head low to avoid staring at the rather lewd clothing around him. Although, it seemed unavoidable at a certain point when Bakugou accidentally ran into a table, looking up to find his path once more only to make eye contact with string. That’s it, he swore that’s all it was. Just… string. What the hell is that gonna do?! His face burned at the sight and he clenched his jaw tightly, searching for the checkout area so he could finish his business and get the hell out of this place.

        At last, he reached his destination and slammed his palms down on the counter, causing the cashier to flinch with frightened eyes. “Gimme a Pink gift card. Twenty-five dollars,” Bakugou demanded harshly. The girl in front of him instantly lost her patience at the order, and she had to force on a fake smile before replying.

        “Sorry sir,” her voice was snide. “We only have Victoria’s Secret gift cards here.”

        “Whatever, just give me a damn card,” he barked, shoving the cash into her hands. The teen boy was growing seriously uncomfortable in this place, and he despised that feeling.

        “Here you go. Have a nice day!” the worker sarcastically chimed, beaming at how anxious he appeared. His lip curled at her tone and he grumbled under his breath as he navigated his way out of the vulgar store.

                                ###

        Bakugou’s hands trembled as he set down the card on your desk. He was still shaken up over that stupid store, but whenever Kirishima asked him about it, he just shook off the question, mumbling about how he didn’t want to talk about it. Crashing down into his desk, Bakugou miserably shoved his chin into his hands, resting over the surface and waiting impatiently for you to see his gift. He wasn’t stupid this round. In a brightly colored, anonymous card, the blond had written about how he liked you and how he wanted you to buy yourself something nice. It was a genius plan, as now he didn’t have to worry about buying you something. Oh man, if only he had put his damn name on it.

        When you walked into the chattering classroom and sat in your seat, you inspected the card thoroughly, even poking at it with your goddamn pencil. What the hell? Either way, when you finally opened it like a big girl and watched the special gift card drop unceremoniously onto your desk, you didn’t make a sound. You just… stared. You were totally silent, breathing evenly with a blank face as you inspected the card like it had the secrets to the world. Evidently, you didn’t want to know those secrets, as you abruptly pushed up out of your chair, ever-so gracefully banging it into the desk behind you. Your eyes were dark and unreadable, and you hair acted as a curtain around your face while your fingers braced against the desktop. It was like you were burning the hot pink words printed on the gift card into your brain.

        Finally, you looked up and stared ahead at the teacher’s board while your face slowly grew enraged. “Mineta, you little creep! I’m gonna kick your ass!” Bakugou jumped at your outburst, observing shakily as you swiftly turned your head to the pint-sized, purple student in the corner of the room. As a result, the little squirt screamed in terror and ran away. You chased him out of the room, and Bakugou couldn’t help but bite his lip tentatively while staring blankly at where you had stood.

        Kirishima, also shaken by your sudden outburst, made his way over to his best friend’s desk, glancing at yours along the way. Spotting what had made you so upset, the redhead groaned and dragged a hand down his face while shaking his head. “Seriously, Bakugou, Victoria’s Secret? That was your genius idea?” The blond nodded in a daze. “If she ever finds out,” he continued, “she’s going to murder you.” Bakugou could only nod in agreement, still shocked at your reaction to the gift. Was it really that perverted?

        Helplessly, he stares up at his friend with desperation dripping from his face, whispering a small, “Help me.” Kirishima beams brightly at the admission, placing his hands on his hips.

        “Finally willing to listen, huh?”

        “Don’t push it.” Bakugou massages his temples, exhausted from the week's events.

        “Don’t you worry, buddy. I have the perfect idea.”

                                ###

        There was still a small, minuscule chance that Kirishima was wrong, right? Bakugou could care less at this point, he just wanted to confess to you. You were strong, stubborn, loud-mouthed, arrogant, and infuriating. He loved it. Ever since you had insulted him back and then proceeded to kick his ass almost beat him up during a training session, he had fallen for you. Which was why he had gone to such lengths for you. He wanted to get you the perfect gift to return all the fuzzy, totally lame feelings you had given him. And apparently, according to Kirishima, a little bunny stuffed animal and a box of chocolates were the best way to begin to do that. The redhead had claimed that gifts wouldn’t make any girl, especially you, fall in love with him instantaneously. Bakugou was doubtful, but according to how all his previous plans had crashed and burned into one spectacularly extravagant trainwreck, he had no room to judge.

        While letting those thoughts run rampant in his head, the normally tumultuous hero-in-training stood silently in front of your door, awkwardly waiting for you to answer after he had painfully knocked on it with his forehead. What was he supposed to do; his hands were chock full of stuffed rabbit and chocolates. Breathing a sigh of relief when the door opened to reveal you with a soft, sly smile, he shoved his new gifts towards you.

        “I like you,” he mumbled apprehensively, looking to the side to prevent you from seeing his flushed cheeks. You could barely hear him, but you knew. Oh yeah, you definitely knew.

        “Took you long enough,” you teased, hugging the presents to your chest. “No offense, but your other gifts were shit. Oh, aside from this.” Fiddling with the heart necklace and giving him a lopsided grin, you tossed the bunny and the chocolates onto your bed behind you before grabbing him by his wrists and tugging him inside, him stumbling in after you with a dropped jaw. “Speaking of, if you really want me to buy new lingerie, I’ll bring you along next time.” You laughed cheekily as Bakugou’s cheeks grew a darker shade of red, and he muttered at you to shut up.

                                ###

        Bakugou’s arm tightened around your shoulder as you pushed open the door to the classroom, giggling at his deadpan joke while the corner of his mouth quirked up at your bright smile. Directing you to your seat, he released your shoulder and groaned while dropping your bag to the ground. “Ugh, why is that thing so heavy?” he whined, glaring at the weighted object. Laughing at his pain, the pair of you suddenly tense up at a smaller presence behind you. Instantaneously, the both of you grow pissed, you whipping around and glaring while Bakugou wraps his arm around your waist possessively.

        “What do you want, pipsqueak?” your boyfriend hissed at Mineta.

        The shorter male’s eyes widened and he took a barely noticeable step back before standing tall once more and proudly announcing, “YN, I was hoping you’ve come to your senses today and realized that you have wrongfully blamed me for a despicable, unthinkable action!” Well, he wasn’t exactly wrong, but that didn’t mean you wanted to admit defeat. Especially to him. Sneering and opening your mouth to respond, the little grape lifted a finger to pause you and continued, “I will, however, forgive you in exchange for a generous kiss.” Ignoring your disgusted look, Mineta closed his eyes and puckered his lips, only to open them once more at the sound of explosions.

        Bakugou’s grip on your side was practically bruising, while his other hand was raised with an eruptive display for all to see. Snarling ferociously, the blond’s voice was gruff and threatening as he lowly warned, “You better get a head start while you can. I’m gonna beat your ass, you little creep.” Bakugou’s scarlet eyes were glaring nastily at Mineta, and if looks could kill,... well, you know the rest. The purple-haired pervert stumbled back a couple steps before he whimpered and spun around on his toes, hightailing it out of the classroom. Bakugou smiled at the sight and turned to brush his lips against yours. You placed your hand on the back of his neck to hold him there for a couple seconds, gently nibbling on his lower lip before finally pulling away. The tingles his soft kiss left behind compelled you to keep your eyes and revel in the waves of pleasure they evoked. You were content, at least until a loud bang ripped your eyes open. It was the door to the classroom swinging open as you saw the blond hair of your boyfriend disappear into the hallway.

        “You purple son of a bitch!”

        Wincing at the roar, you hesitantly sat at your desk, sucking air through your teeth and fiddling with the silver locket around your neck.  “Oopsies.”

One-Sided Future (Konoha x Reader)

image

*GIF not mine*

Summary: It’s hard to see a person fall in love with another who never intends on sharing a future with that person. It’s even harder when that person is you. (Based on “I Can’t Make You Love Me” by Bon Iver)

A/N: I’m really sorry this is so late, but I sincerely hope you like it. It might not be what you were expecting, but I saw a comment on the video of the song that just inspired me and also broke my heart, so I just hope you feel the same with this angsty fic. Again, I really hope you like it!

Word count: 900

        He was warm.

        The bed shook as he slipped under the covers, arms wrapping around you while you feigned sleep.

        Why did it hurt so much?

        His grip on you never tightened. It was as simple as that.

        His chest was hot near your back. You couldn’t feel it’s solidity anymore though.

        There was a wall between you and Konoha now. Every inch of space between you two created a wall. You didn’t like it.

        You couldn't stop it.

        Sitting in silence, you waited until his breathing slowed. Then you shifted in his grip, moving closer to feel him while also turning to face him. This was the closest you had gotten in weeks.

        He was so peaceful in his sleep, dirty blond hair splayed against his pillow. You couldn’t see his dark eyes behind his closed lids, and for that you were thankful.

        In moments like these, you could pretend they still held love. You could pretend they would still squint in delight at the sight of you. You could pretend their pupils would still widen when you embraced him in a hug.

        But the fact was that they didn’t. Your hopes, your requited love, your shared future, it was all just a dream. A fruitless dream.

        In your own eyes, Konoha was the one. One day, you wished you two would get married and spend the rest of your lives together. You wanted to walk down the aisle under his adoring gaze. You wanted to dip your toes in the hot sand of a gorgeous beach beside his grinning form. You wanted to watch him spill a single tear at the sight of a newborn in his arms.

        A whole future was visible before your eyes. Every detail was beautiful. Not perfect, but beautiful.

        Konoha couldn’t see it. He didn’t want to see it. God, how you wanted him to see it, wanted him to want it. But he didn’t.

        Nothing was more hopeless than that wish. The idea of being together forever, loving each other for the rest of your lives was nothing but a pipe dream. Not even a pipe dream. It was just a damn dream. One you needed to let go.

        Tonight would be your last night in his arms. You should have ended it before he joined you in the bed, but you just wanted to feel him one last time. It was a lapse in judgement, but a final farewell all the same.

        Tomorrow you will move on. Tomorrow you’ll let him go and carry on with your life. You’ll let him find someone else, someone who wanted the same things he wanted.

        And maybe one day you could find someone for yourself.

        Still, it hurt to think that there was nothing you could do. There was nothing left to salvage in your relationship.

        How…

        How can someone possibly describe the pain?

        It wasn’t physical, but it was damn near close. Your heart was… aching, yearning for reciprocity.

        Konoha wanted a girlfriend. He wanted movie dates and posters at volleyball games. Study nights and silly little pranks. Posts and pictures online of the two of you everywhere and anywhere.

        You wanted the love of your life. A man to marry and have children with. Someone to hug in joy as you watched first steps, listened to first words. Someone to go to for comfort when work was stressful or when college days began.

        Konoha wanted good times.

        You wanted commitment. But you couldn’t force that on him. So yes, tonight was the last night with him.

        So you wiped away your tears and pressed a gentle kiss to his cheek. You wrapped your arms around his waist and pulled him close, intertwining your legs with his.

        He was warm. He always was.

        Then you closed your damp eyes and laid your head against his chest, letting out a broken sob when his hands squeezed just a bit tighter.

        You promised yourself this was it. This was the last night you would be in his arms. Then you would let him go. You promised.

        Then you fell asleep.

                                ***

        Within the span of a month, Konoha’s arm had already fallen over another girl’s shoulder.

        Within the span of a month, you still felt just as much love for him as you did when you let him go. But the truth was clear before your eyes.

        You couldn’t force him to be with you for your own dreams.

        You couldn’t force him to love you.

I Wanna Build a Snowman (Oikawa x Reader)

I Wanna Build A Snowman (Oikawa X Reader)

*GIF not mine*

Summary: Oikawa just wants to build a snowman on one of the coldest days of the year with his beloved girlfriend. What could go wrong?

A/N: Major fluff. Like...that’s it. That’s the warning. We’ve been getting assloads of snow where I am so I figured why not. Hope you like this domestic fluff!

Word count: 2264

        Something cold, soft and insistent hits you in the face.

        “YN!... YNNNN!” Oikawa keeps whisper-yelling your name and patting the side of your cheek until you finally gather the energy to crack open an eyelid.

        “Tooru,” you yawn, moving to sit up and rub the sleep from your blurred gaze, “whyyy?” The lights of yours and Oikawa’s bedroom are still off but the open curtains of your floor length window allow the white brightness flooding the space to blind you.

        Huh, looks like the blizzard warning wasn’t a joke.

        The light zaps every ounce of energy right out of you as you struggle to stay conscious and you give in, flopping back despite Oikawa’s whines.

        “No, no! YN, come on, let’s go outside!”

        “Are you insane?” you mumble into your pillow, rolling over only to be flipped right back.

        “Neither of us have any type of clothes equipped for that kind of weather. Just go back to sleep- oof.”

        A piece of clothing, pants by the feel of the starchy exterior, thwaps you in the face and incites enough anger inside you to wake you for revenge and nothing more.

        “That’s why I bought those last night while I was out!” The bed shifts as Oikawa rises from the bed, giving you a show of skin as he strips off his night clothes and dresses in the newly purchased snow pants and boots.

        “I swear to God if you don’t let me go back to sleep I’m to suffocate you with my pillow before sleeping on top of both of you.”

        “Well that’s vivid.”

        “It’s also very desirable right now.”

        Oikawa pouts, zipping up a puffy jacket to his chin before shoving a beanie on his head and dropping back onto the bed next to you. “Come on, YN! I wanna build a snowman!”

        “I swear to God if you start singing-”

        “Do you wanna build a snowm-mmphf!”

        A pillow thwaps Oikawa in the face and you drop back to the bed with a groan. “Fineeee, so long as you shut up and don’t ever sing that song again, I will go outside and build a snowman with you.”

        “Oh come on, it’s tradition!”

                                ~~~
        Okay, so maybe you weren’t a morning person and perhaps Oikawa had been right. Though the weather may as well have left you feeling stranded naked in the Arctic, passing up the opportunity to build a snowman with your boyfriend on one of the few days both of you had off together would have been a terrible decision.
        Feeling like a toddler wrapped in twenty-ply toilet paper, you stumbled down the stairs of the complex and out into the freezing cold of nature. The snow pants and boots Oikawa bought for you sagged just a tad on your hips and you had to constantly readjust them with one gloved hand while the other held firmly onto your boyfriend’s as he led you out into the open space between the building and the parking lot.
        Snow still fell in small bundles, settling into your hair and onto Oikawa’s hat, slowly and surely soaking in and freezing all at the same time. The sky was a chilled gray, the sun a distant glowing orb in the sky that could never overpower the precipitating clouds that laid claim on the sky. A wind brushed the stray hairs from your face and bit at your cheeks, bringing with more flakes that settled onto the tips of your lashes effortlessly.
        Every footprint you and a grinning Oikawa left behind revealed there was a solid nine inches of snow that crushed the dark green grass underneath. A laugh left your companion as he tugged you farther along, barging through the piles of white that seemed reluctant to move.
        “Okay,” Oikawa declared, turning back to you with a pink nose and cheeks as his breaths left puffs in the air. “What should we do first?”
        The childlike glimmer of excitement in your eyes made the smile on your face grow full-fledged. Then a devious thought came to your mind. “Well,” you tapped your chin in faux deliberation, pulling your hand out of his to set it on your hip, “I suppose we could…”
        Without another word, you pressed both hands on Oikawa’s chest and pushed as hard as possible, letting out a laugh at the split-second betrayed look on his face before his black-coated form disappeared in a cloud of snow.
        It took him a second to recover as you went into hysterics, folding your arms around your stomach as you guffawed. Oikawa propped himself up on his elbows and blew a hair out of his face with a pout.
        “You’re gonna pay for that.”
        And before you knew it, your open-mouthed laughter was interrupted with a choke as snow met your tongue and teeth.
        Small clumps of flakes stuck to your forehead and chin as you gasped, trying to wipe away the cold in vain as Oikawa rose from the ground, two more snowballs already rounded off in his hands.
        “Don’t start something you can’t finish, Tooru,” you warned, stepping back and keeping watchful eyes on both of his armed hands.
        “Oh, come on, babe.” Oikawa grinned a sly grin that told you you had awoken a beast. “You know I can’t let you off the hook after that.”
        And the battle commenced.
        Somehow even in the freezing cold you were working up a sweat, ducking and dodging as many snowballs as you could while firing off your own.
        Sometimes you would hit Oikawa in his long legs as he dove away from a throw and sometimes he would hit you back in the arms or chest while you hurried to build a fort to protect yourself. At a certain point, both of you had built fortresses that were each a solid three feet high. Oikawa had gone for the simple-yet-classic snow wall tactic while you crafted a small barrier as long as your wingspan that surrounded your front and sides, packing snow on top of solidifying snow while Oikawa occasionally knocked off a solid chunk that required you to handle damage control.
        Your teeth began to instinctively chatter as the snow that hit your face melted off and slid down your jacket, soaking into Oikawa’s t-shirt underneath. Every so often you would have to tug your gloves back down after they slid up during your construction efforts, allowing cold clumps to stick to your skin and leave patches of irritated red in their wake.
        But you were distracted for just a second too long playing defense and that was all Oikawa needed.
        A shadow fell over your work as you began to carve a makeshift window in your fort, punching a hand through the thick wall of snow in order to keep an eye on your enemy as you worked--however, such efforts seemed futile as you slowly turned around to see a towering Oikawa with two armfuls of snow prepped and angled right over your head.
        You had been too focused on your own shaky breaths and mutters that you haven’t even heard him army crawling behind you and gathering up an avalanche to bury you under.
        “Oh shi-” flumph.
        Oikawa tipped his head back and released a maniacal laugh as snow piled in your lap and atop your head, making you look like the snowman he’d wanted to build this morning.
        “Looks like I’ve won this war, YN,” he nodded to himself, dusting off his white-sprinkled blue pants and puffy jacket. “Though, to be fair, it was well fought. You must’ve just gotten too distracted by your opponent’s dazzling looks to notice he’d already trapped you in a corner, and nobody can blame you. I guess I’m just too-AGH!”
        In two seconds you went from partial abominable snowman on the frozen ground to tackling Oikawa to the ground and straddling his chest, dropping two handfuls of snow into his face as he screeched.
        “What were you saying about victory, Tooru?” you sniggered, stealing the hat right off his head and pressing it onto your own. “Distracted opponent and whatnot? Kinda makes me wonder who really won this…”
        Oikawa coughed up a snowball as you used all your weight to roll off him and settle onto the floor next to him, just far enough away that you could spread your arms up over your head and down back to your side. Just as you worked to spread your legs and arms in synchronization to complete your snow angel, two folded arms dropped onto your stomach before a head plopped on top relaxedly, forcing a large cloud of air out of your mouth.
        “I don’t know, babe,” Oikawa mumbled, adjusting right on top of you so he could lean over and draw patterns into the snow with a single finger right next to your other side. Each time he shifted, a bony elbow dug even harder into your stomach, forcing noises out of your mouth no different from the choking sounds of a floundering seal. “I really think we could call it a tie right here.”
        With one dazzling smile sent your way, Oikawa moved so he was laying entirely on top of you, legs tangling with yours and all before he moved to straddle your hips. “Never,” you choked out, helplessly wiggling underneath him. “Ugh, get off me fatass.”
        “Hey! I’ve been watching my weight before the season!” He pressed a finger to your forehead after dodging every hand you tried to bat him away with. “I’ll have you know this is all muscle, but I don’t believe you need such proof after last night.”
        You gagged at the eyebrows he waggled at you before mustering enough energy to roll onto your stomach right underneath him and army crawl out, finally free from his weight. “Don’t be such a perv.” You rolled your eyes, standing up and staring down at him with your arms akimbo.
        Oikawa’s lips curled up into a smirk as he rose to his feet, approaching you with eyes narrowed enough to have you waiting for his next words. “You know, you weren’t this shy last night either.”
        “Shut up!” You blamed the pink tint of your cheeks on the cold and smacked his arm, spinning away when he yelped in surprise.
        “Hey!” When you kept your back to him, he huffed out a sigh and made his way closer to you, so close his entire body was pressed against you. Two arms slithered around your waist and a freezing nose traced a path up along the side of your exposed throat.
        When you relaxed into his hold and leaned your head away to allow him more room to tease, Oikawa hummed in thought and pressed a kiss to the skin, hands tightening on your hips.
        “Let’s go back inside, baby,” he murmured, peppering more and more pecks along your skin until he had enough of the back-to-front issue and spun you around, pressing his forehead against yours. Both of your puffs of air now mingled together as he spoke, his brown eyes trailing from your warm gaze to your red cheeks to the plump lips your tongue just couldn’t seem to leave alone. “We need to do something to… warm up.”
        The innocence that fell over your face, no matter how fake, made his jaw clench and his body grow still.
        “But I thought you wanted to build a snowman?”
                                ~~~

        You shivered under the mounds of blankets on the bed, wearing nothing but the soaked hat on your head as Oikawa entered the room with only a sheet covering his bare form. Two steaming cups of hot chocolate piled high with marshmallows were held in his hands, one of which he held out to you after shutting the door to the bedroom and dimming the lights.

        The sun outside was long gone, instead leaving the moon to shine and reflect off the layers of snow that you and Oikawa had ruffled up hours earlier.

        You accepted the mug with a soft smile and scooted over, making room as Oikawa shrugged off the blanket completely, leaving himself uncovered to the cold still circling in the room.

        “As much as I like your staring, YN, a wolf whistle is always appreciated every now and then.”

        You only wiggled your brows and blew a kiss at him over your mug, giggling when he gawked and muttered “Perv” under his breath.

        Oikawa wasted no time grabbing his own mug off the nightstand, settling in beside you with an arm wrapped around your hips to keep you curled into his side. As the movie began, he let out a long sigh and pressed two marshmallow-flavored lips to your forehead, grinning when you nuzzled in closer.

        “Ugh, Frozen? Really?”

        “Shhh,” Oikawa whispered. “You’re gonna miss the song.” You could only roll your eyes and lay your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and soft humming to the music.

        And as “Do You Wanna Build a Snowman” faintly played through the shining window of your apartment, two snowmen sitting just outside with pebbles for eyes and carrots for noses froze and solidified under the light of the stars, their makeshift twig arms still holding hands.

So I have a request can you write how Kenma Kageyama Nishinoya and Atsumu would react to their s/o randomly telling them to spread their legs cause she wants to put their head on their stomach 🥺👉🏾👈🏾 please and thank you 🙏🏾

“Spread Your Legs”... to Cuddle (Haikyuu!! Headcanons)

*GIFs not mine*

A/N: Slight warning guys, I haven’t watched season four. Aka, Atsumu is maybe OOC. Aka aka, I have no idea how tf he acts. I tried tho, I swear. Also, dear requester, with my dirty mind, I sincerely hope I took your request the right way, and hope you weren’t completely looking for innocent fluff. With love, this dirty-minded author. Anyway, hope you like it! (Oh fuck, I just reread your request, I am so sorry (I saw “randomly” and went off). But I promise some of it is fluffy!! you know... some of it.)

Kozume Kenma:

I'm just gonna start out by saying this is Kenma we’re talking about.

If you ask him for something romantic, he’s obligated to say “fuck no.”

Like seriously, you just gotta sneak attack this dude, cuz straight up asking him isn’t gonna work.

… okay maybe just this once.

“Hey Kenma, can you spread your legs?”

He gives you a weird look, then returns to playing his game. “No.”

I told you so.

So anyways, you just, you know, spread his legs.

He’s laying on the couch so one of them dangles off, and you just kinda slither between and snuggle up to his lap.

As you do so, he takes in a quick breath and avoids your gaze, keeping his eyes locked on the screen with maximum effort.

You lay your head on his stomach and smile against him, enjoying the heat after a cold day.

“You’re really warm.” You press a kiss to his stomach and he tenses up.

“Y-you should’ve told me this is what you were going to do.”

“Would you have let me do it?”

“...”

He just purses his lips and relaxes his game on top of your head.

“Do you want me to stop?” You set your chin on his stomach and peer up at him innocently.

He flushes and rolls his eyes. “...no.”

Kageyama Tobio:

You’re playing with fire with this one. But like… fake fire that doesn’t burn when you touch it, you feel me?

… Anyways, this guy is very, very concerned at first.

“Tobio, can you spread your legs for me?”

It’s one of the few days he’s invited you over (more like you invited yourself), and when you popped into his room, he’s already relaxing in bed.

When he hears those words, steam practically blows from his ears.

“W-WHAT?!”

You love to tease him of course, and any other day, you would’ve done so, but…

Fuck it, who am I kidding, you’re totally gonna tease him.

You step closer to his bed where he’s got one leg crossed over the other and he flinches when you run your hands up his lower legs.

“Just spread your legs for me, baby.”

“Y-YN, you don’t have to do this.”

“Don’t be so nervous, Tobio. I want to.”

Hesitantly, he allows you to settle your hands on his kneecaps and pull his legs apart.

You slide up onto the bed and slink your way in between his legs, giving him a reassuring smile.

Then you plop down in the middle of his thighs and rest your head on his stomach with a relieved sigh.

“Mmm, thanks for letting me do this, Tobio.”

He’s silently oblivious for a moment. (Lowkey thinking “is this how it’s supposed to be done the first time?”)

Then he slowly sets his hands in your hair and combs through it with trembling fingers.

“S-sure.”

Don’t worry, later you showed him how it’s done ;)

… meaning you let him lay his head on your stomach then. Geez, get ur head outta the gutter, guys.

Nishinoya Yuu:

SPEAKING OF PERVERTS

Just kidding, this strong boi treats you like a queen.

“Spread your legs, Yuu.”

“Oh, FUCK YEAH!”

Except for that. You can only giggle when he spreads his legs wide instantly, relaxing a hand behind his head while the other rests on his chest.

With a grin, you clamber onto the bed and slip between his legs, resting your head on his stomach.

Nishinoya instantly combs his free hand through your hair while you hum in delight against him.

‘Cause you guys do this all the time. Because this is how you cuddle.

He loves feeling like he’s taking care of you, and this is just one of the many ways he does.

When you ask him to spread his legs, he knows it’s because you’re cold and want snuggles, and this tiny boy absolutely loves to provide for you.

Once, when you tried to move after he had fallen asleep, his legs literally wrapped around you and trapped you against his chest. It was warm tho, so you couldn’t complain.

Anytime, whenever you’re watching a movie or just plain old taking a nap, he loves the feeling of you between his legs.

If it’s a scary movie or you’re having a nightmare and you whimper into his chest, he’ll just coo and massage your scalp until you calm down. We’re talking hairdresser-level scalp massages.

Noya is good with his hands, it’s confirmed.

As I said before, he loves to take care of you, and you asking him to spread his legs isn’t an uncommon occurrence whenever you two hang out.

Now this doesn’t mean he doesn’t get a little too excited sometimes...

Miya Atsumu:

First of all, y’all are just laying in the grass courtyard studying.

Well, you’re studying. He’s just basking in the sun and trying to fuck with you in any way he can.

When you finish (or more like give up) your studying is when you ask order him.

“Spread your legs.”

His brow raises oH fUcK, then he does that lil smirk.

“Oh really? Here? YN, you naughty girl.”

You’re dead tired. “Shut up perv, I just wanna cuddle.”

“What if I wanna do more than cuddle?” *waggles eyebrows*

“Suffer.”

You spread his legs apart and he silently inhales, trying not to choke on air.

When you crawl up between his thighs, he tenses up and the smirk on his face falters a bit.

Then you rest your cheek on his stomach and wrap your arms around him like a teddy bear and he’s like “oh.”

There’s not really much he can do. He doesn’t wanna push you off bc nO but he also wants to keep up his suave, self-controlled appearance.

But that’s not how biology works.

His hands settle into your hair and he’s hoping if you fall asleep fast enough, you won’t notice. So he starts brushing through your tangled strands and holding you closer to keep you warm.

I mean, you were really tired after studying, right?

Wrong.

“Atsumuuuu.”

“Sorry babe, but this is mostly your fault, just sayin.”

Yeah so um, next time you wanna lay on his stomach, just kinda say it, cuz this boy is all about gettin’ it onnn.

You’re too pure for him to handle

        Bokuto just wouldn’t leave you alone.

        All you had done was let him drink your blood, and now he followed you around like a lovesick puppy.

        “YN! Can I get you anything?”

        “YN! Are you hungry?”

        “YN! Do you need help with something?”

        “YN!”

        “YN!”

        “YN!”

        Every five minutes, he popped into your room with a bright smile and a need to please. He even crawled into your bed at nights while you were sleeping! Always slipping under your covers and wrapping his arms around you from behind, it scared you half to death. It was a shame he never stuck around to get a lecture, though. Just before you wake up, he always manages to sneak away. Once, you even felt Akaashi join the party, and woke up to two people spooning you with the temperature of a thousand suns.

        They almost gave you a heat stroke.

        Since then, it’s always been Bokuto, except today you had the pleasure of waking up before him. You had spun in his tighter-than-normal grip around your waist and delivered a quick shove to his chest. “You’re too warm, get the fuck out,” you had muttered with a yawn, and his body flopped onto the floor shortly after.

        And now, as Bokuto popped into your room for the fiftieth time today with something actually worth talking about this round, you couldn’t help but grimace at your television.

        “YN YLN is still missing. If you have any information on her or her whereabouts, please contact the police at…” you didn’t care to listen to the rest. Clicking off the TV, you slumped down onto your sofa and hugged a pillow to your chest.

        “Can’t believe they used that ugly-ass picture,” you grumbled, still glaring at the black screen.

        “YN!” There he is. “We brought you dinner!”

        “Is it poisoned?”

        “NO!”

        “Damn.”

        “Don’t talk like that,” Akaashi glowers, handing you a tray of food before snapping his fingers. Three cozy dining chairs and a wooden table manifests from thin air between your bed and the glass doors to your balcony, and he holds out a hand to guide you to the new furniture.

        “What’s this?” you ask warily, waving away his offer and proceeding to take your new seat without assistance.

        “We haven’t dined together in a century,” Akaashi sits across from you and levitates a pitcher of water, filling your glass. “Bokuto and I want to make up for lost time.”

        Said man nods his head excitedly and claims the final chair between the two of you, leaving one side empty at the rectangular table.

        The menu for tonight consists of a medium-done steak for each of you, alongside some appetizers of various vegetables and a basket of buttered rolls. The centerpiece is a small, silver candelabra, which soon becomes the only lighting for your meal as the light bulb in your bedroom flickers and turns dark.

        “Damn,” you chuckle nervously, picking at your intricately-crafted dining utensils, “didn’t know you guys treated your captives so well. Does everyone get this royal treatment?”

        “You’re so much more than our captive, my love,” Akaashi simpers.

        You purse your lips, growing more and more uncomfortable by the second. You hypothesized this elaborate dinner had something to do with you finally giving in and wearing a black, slimming mermaid dress from your ancient closet. Disappointingly, it was the most casual outfit in there, although the bedazzled sweetheart neckline drew a little too much unwanted attention from the vampire to your right.

        “Who even are you guys?” you scoff.

        “The loves of your lives.”

        Akaashi’s response left you busting a gut, and Bokuto nervously made eye contact with his friend. “Oh, come on,” you snort, hiding your grin behind a hand out of habit, “quit tooting your own horn. First of all, ‘love’? Don’t kid yourself. Second of all, what the hell do you mean by ‘lives’?”

        Neither man appreciates your words, or your reaction. Akaashi narrows his gunmetal blue eyes at you, nostrils flaring with distaste. Bokuto’s golden eyes flicker to pure red for a split second, and his hands reach up to grip the table’s edge with white knuckles.

        “It’s still too soon to tell you,” the wizard seethes through clenched teeth. Your laughs slow, but when Bokuto snatches up his knife and slices into his steak swiftly in the blink of an eye, you sober right up. With a nervous nibble on your bottom lip, you discretely slide your chair a few inches to the left and avoid the black and white-haired man’s burning gaze.

        “Look,” you draw your attention away from the massacred hunk of meat, “since I’m kinda like your guys’ friend now-”

        “We’re more than friends!” Bokuto barks, chomping on his meal bitterly. Akaashi nods in agreement and you roll your eyes at the action.

        “Easy, you two. I was iffy about even calling us ‘friends.’”

        “Then what would you call yesterday?” the vampire pouts slightly. You had let him feed off you again, as he seemed to be on the verge of another carnivorous outrage. It still felt similar to getting, you know, stabbed in the neck. Twice. But you just couldn’t stand to see him go hungry again. You were feeling generous.

        “Reciprocity. Even wild animals in nature do it. You saved my life, so I… did that thing.”

        “Didn’t feel like reciprocity when you moaned ‘don’t stop’ in my ear-”

        “Enough!” The table wobbles and the dishes clang together with the force of Akaashi’s palm smacking the surface. His head is lowered so you couldn’t see his eyes, but the strain of his voice was enough to clue you in on his irritation. That and the glass of water he had to catch in midair with an extended pinkie. “YN,” Akaashi continues tightly, raising his gaze to face you. Their mixture of emotion made your heart skip a beat. “What did you want to know?”

        You gulp, and unlike normal, Bokuto doesn’t glue his eyes to the movement. Instead, he pushes around the broccoli on his plate. “Why am I here?” you finally find your voice, watching them both with confusion.

        The black-haired wizard sighs and picks up a spoon in a dish, slowly serving himself while shaking his head.

        “Let us eat dinner first. Then we’ll answer any questions you may have.”

                                ~~~
        The bed is crowded. After the tense meal, Akaashi had directed you all to your mattress while the elegant set up disappeared with a flick of his wrist.
        You sit with your back against the headboard, and your fingers gently comb through Bokuto’s hair. The vampire’s head is on your lap, his hands folded on his stomach while his legs hang off the edge, kicking occasionally. It wasn’t the most appropriate position for a kidnapper-kidnapee discussion, but Bokuto was always touchy-feely nowadays. You didn’t exactly mind it, though; his hair was surprisingly soft. Meanwhile, Akaashi sits at the end, cross-legged with a straight back, although he drags his touch over your calves and ankles every-so often. The feeling tickles, but the atmosphere is so serious you don’t dare make a sound.
        “All right,” the wizard pipes up, tracing small circles against your skin, “would you like me to start from the beginning?”
        “Yep.”
                                ~~~

        “Ladies and gentleman, thank you for gathering tonight to celebrate the wedding of my daughter and Tetsurou Kuroo! Now, enjoy the ball!”

        Your father clapped adamantly and the crowd followed the silent order like compliant minions.

        You, on the other hand, irked your jaw before standing up from your throne. Kuroo followed dutifully, still wearing his signature smirk.

        “Wait, hold up. Kuroo?!”

        “Yes, but just wait.”

        “Would you like to dance, my dear YN?”

        “Not in a million years, Kuroo,” you scoff, rolling your eyes at the offer. He waggles his finger disappointedly at you and clicks his tongue.

        “Now, now, kitten, no need to be hostile. We are, after all, man and wife.”

        You bare your teeth at him, flashing your fangs before your father discreetly grabs your upper arm in a death grip.

        “YN, how dare you? This arrangement is for the benefit of the kingdom, quit acting like a spoiled brat,” the king hisses.

        “Father!” you gasp, and he rips his hand away from you.

        “Be quiet!” Your father, the ruler of all vampire-kind,  swiftly makes his way onto the floor to chat amiably with other royals from the area.

        The glittering, golden room, was crowded elegantly-dressed people of all kinds of nature. Vampires and werewolves, wizards and fairies, hell even a few mermaids had swam their way into the party. The unification of the century.

        In the late twelfth century, werecats had become a force to be reckoned with in the blink of an eye. They had monopolized almost all supernatural land with their powerful army, slaying everybody and anybody who attempted to sway them from absolute control. In a last ditch effort to make peace, your father had offered you into an arranged marriage with the prince of werecats, Tetsurou Kuroo. You were a savior, the key to harmony for all, simply by becoming his queen. The title contained a lot of weight to bear.

        Your father was the one who gave you no choice in the matter. Any other princesses of the varied species on Earth could have been offered, but the King of Vampires was greedy. You would be the one to rescue all living creatures, simply by marrying into a loveless alliance. Kuroo was not an evil man. You had met him, chatted with him, even become a friend of his enough to know. He was kind and loving, but you just couldn’t find it in yourself to return his affections.

        “Akaashi’s just kidding. Kuroo’s the worst.”

        “Silence, Bokuto.”

        Nonetheless, you had become engaged, and then you were married. Somewhere deep down, though, you knew there was something else out there for you. Or someone. Someone… outside the window and in the garden.

        There, among your treasured roses, were two men. One with black hair, and one with white hair, riddled with dark streaks. Their presence, though a bit unwelcome in your private utopia of flowers, was alluring.

        “Kuroo, please excuse me,” you mumbled distractedly, eyes still locked beyond the glass pane. “I need to adjust my corset.”

        “Don’t keep me waiting too long, kitten. People are still expecting our first dance as a true couple.”

        “Yeah, yeah, whatever douchebag. I see some hotties, so I’ll catch you later.”

        “Bokuto, quit interrupting!”

        “Sorry Akaashi.”

        “I wouldn’t miss it for the world,” you sneered, squeezing his cheeks in effort to appear loving.

        “You’re not my grandmother, just finish your business so we can get this dance over with.” Kuroo ushered your hands away, but his cheeks were still stained pink even after you disappeared down the steps behind your thrones.

        Slipping into the hallway, you hid behind vases and under clothed tables to dodge security knights, and finally escaped outside to meet the pair of mysterious men.

        “Ugh, Akaaaaaashi!” You peered from behind a wall of bushes gathered against the sides of the castle. They both stood near your cherished flowers, and the one who had spoken regarded them with childlike curiosity. “Why are we here again?”

        “I felt us drawn here for… something. I’m not sure. But I’m not leaving until we get caught. Or until the night ends. There’s just something here for us, I promise.”

        You held back a giggle when the bulkier man pricked his finger on a rose thorn, letting out a horrendous screech.

        “Silence, Bokuto.”

        “Well, I see you haven’t changed much.”

        “Silence, YN.”

        “Wait, Akaashi. I smell something.”

        “I told you not to eat that flower-”

        “Not that!” The taller man rose from his squat near your plants and sniffed the air. “It smells like… my grandmother’s cinnamon bread!” He raises his nose and sniffs again, walking toward the scent. Walking towards you. “It smells so good!” he exclaims, wiggling with excitement as he draws nearer to your cowering form.

        “It’s… It’s…”

        “It’s Brittany, bitch.”

        “Goddammit, YN, you’re beginning to act like Bokuto. That’s a bad decision.”

        “Hey!”

        “It’s a girl!” The man points at you with a wide grin, baring his fangs instinctively. You jump at the sight and widen your eyes at how he had spotted you. The dark-haired male glances up from the ground with surprise, and his blue orbs sparkle when they meet yours.

        “Umm, hi,” you swallow nervously, stepping away from the wall.

        “Oh wow, you’re beautiful!” The larger man’s comment makes you flush bright red.

        “T-thank you.” You glance away and hide your cheeks in your silk-gloved palms. “I can’t help but notice you’re in my garden.” Smiling nervously, you gain enough courage to gesture to the plants around you.

        “Yes, my princess,” the man with dark hair pulls his friend backward by the collar and tugs him down in a bow, “we are so sorry for intruding. We will leave immediately.”

        “No!” you cry out, holding out your hands to stop them. “Please… don’t. I could use the company.”

        “Oh.”

        “S-so, um, what are your names?” Avoiding their shocked gazes, you pick at your flowing, purple dress anxiously.

        “Keiji Akaashi, and this is my friend Koutarou Bokuto.”

        “Is Akaashi even your real name?”

        “Has been for the past millennia.”

        “And you?”

        “I’ve been Koutarou Bokuto for one and one-tenth of a millennia! I found lil’ baby Akaashi here stranded in the middle of the woods.”

        “And yet I’m the one who has to take care of you now.”

        “You’re so mean, Akaashi!”

        “Nice to meet you,” you grin, outstretching your hand for a shake. Akaashi stares mystified at the act, but slowly accepts. Just as sparks begin to flow through your body from the ounce of contact, Bokuto eagerly shoves his companion out of the way and shakes your hand as well, doubling the amount of adrenaline pumping through your body. Your breath hitches and your eyes widen while you stare at your hand in surprise. It tingles, but in a good way. In an amazing way. Then your wrist starts to burn, and you hastily tug off your glove in an attempt to stop whatever causes the twinge.

        A single dark spiral with three legs has forged itself into your skin. A small gasp comes from in front of you, and you glance up to see Bokuto beaming at his own wrist.

        “Akaashi, is this-”

        “Yes.” His shorter companion nods with a barely visible quirk of his lips, eyes also locked on the mark.

        “What is this?” you pipe up, rubbing over the symbol with a wet thumb in desperate attempt to remove it.

        “It’s a sign.”

        “For what?!” you plead in a panic.

        “That you’re meant to be with us. You’re ours.” The world stops turning for just a few moments.

        The rousing words, their adoring gazes, even their proximity to you is enough to have your heart racing. You’ve always been someone else’s though, whether it was your father or Kuroo, and neither time was it pleasant for you. You don’t exactly mind the thought now, though.

        “I can’t stand it here,” you start, flaring your nostrils at the castle.

        “Well, we can help you!” Bokuto blurts out, grabbing your hands and squeezing them encouragingly. Your heart stutters at his grip, but speeds up at the offer.

        “Really? You can get me out of here?”

        “Definitely!”

        “Yes,” Akaashi nods.

        “Oh, thank you!” You wrap one arm around each boy’s neck and tug them in for a group hug. It doesn’t take long before you grow addicted to their comforting warmth. You pull back reluctantly and look into their eyes. “So where are we going?”

        “Not gonna lie, that sounds like something my dumbass would do with two hot guys. Just yank them into a hug on the spot.”

        “You can still do that, you know. Even better if you let us kiss you. I don’t know about Akaashi, but I wouldn’t mind-”

        “S-shut up!”

        After you escaped, the fragile balance of peace between all creatures crumbled, and Kuroo went mad without his queen. Many species perished under his reign, and became extinct as a result. In the small number of villages that remained, he had posters hung with your drawn face and an offer of a hefty reward for any information of your whereabouts.

        It took them twelve years to find you.

        “Akaashi, I’m going to go pick some berries.” You cinched your riding pants just past your hips and tucked a leather pouch into a belt loop. Arms slithered around your waist and pulled you backwards into a familiar body.

        “Okay, be careful. And can you tell Bokuto to come inside? He’s gonna get hypothermia if he stays in the lake any longer.” He presses small kisses up your neck, brushing over the bruises from the night before.

        “Sure,” you turn your head back and peck his lips for just a second before smiling at him. “You’re handling dinner, though, right? I’m not choking down another crispy rabbit of his, no matter how much I love him.”

        Akaashi chuckles and shakes his head, squeezing your hips slightly. “Yes, I’m making dinner.”

        “Good,” you snicker, pecking his cheek one more time before exiting the small cottage. You all had built the house with your bare hands, and every time you saw it, you beamed with pride. It took years to build the walls, but only your love combined made it a true home.

        Birds chirp in the sky high trees around you and you kick a couple pine cones on your way to the lake. You can hear him before you see him, and you hop over your miniature garden of roses to get closer to the sounds of splashes.

        “Darling, look!” Bokuto doesn’t even have to spot you before waving an innocent salmon around victoriously. They’ve both grown hypersensitive to your presence, and it never takes long before you capture their attention nowadays. “Look what I snagged!” He’s floating in the middle of the water, grinning like no tomorrow while the poor fish wiggles frantically in his hand.

        You stand beside his forgotten clothes and flash him a thumbs up, chuckling under your breath at the sight. “Nice catch, Kou. But Akaashi says you gotta get out now.”

        “Aww, but why?” he pouts, glancing at his new friend before returning his disappointed gaze to you.

        “Because you might get sick and-”

        Oh no.

        A pointed object rips through your back to the front of your chest, blood dripping from the tip. Knees wobbling, you can only whimper at the sight.

        An arrow. Slowly, you turn to find your attacker and spot a knight in the distance, lowering his bow. On his metal chestplate, he bore the symbol of the Werecats.

        “YN?!” Bokuto shouts, diving into the water and appearing at your side in under a second, catching you before you fall back. “YN!” he cries out in a broken sob.

        It hurts to breathe. It hurts to move. It hurts to speak. Your heart… oh God, you heart was pierced through completely. Nothing… not a fucking thing could save you.

        “AKAASHI!” Bokuto calls out, cradling you in his arms and collapsing to his knees. A liquid more metallic than copper dribbles out from the corner of your mouth. Blood. It clogs your throat and your ears and your eyes.

        You were going to die.

        Oh God, you were going to die!

        Someone kneels on the ground beside you, and you can barely open your eyelids enough to see them. But their presence doesn’t require vision to be noticed.

        “Akaashi,” you wheeze with a slur. More blood gushes from your mouth at the taxing action.

        “Oh God, no, please! YN, my love, stay awake!” Your hands quiver as you reach up to touch both of their damp faces. They lean into your touch instinctively, peering down at you with their foreheads just a hair’s length away from each other. Their emotions were painted on their faces like mirrors.

        Fear. Pure, unadulterated fear.

        You were going to die.

        “Bokuto-”

        “Don’t speak! Please, just don’t speak, you’ll be fine!” It was the first time Akaashi had ever lied to you. And it was the last.

        The wizard’s palms glowed a dark maroon as he held them just over your heart. Bokuto tucked his face into your neck and sobbed, wails ripping their way out of his throat as he clenched his eyes shut.

        “I love you both so much,” you whispered, pressing a bloody kiss to Bokuto’s scalp.

        “No YN!” Akaashi bit his lower lip furiously, clenching his fists before trying again, creating another aura of red around your wound.

        “I’m not gonna make it…” Your breathing slowed and your eyes grew dim. You were so tired, so exhausted, so in pain. A nice, long nap sounded… so nice.

        “NO! YOU’RE NOT LEAVING US!” Akaashi screamed, clenching his eyes closed and holding his hands higher above your chest before slowly dragging them up and down as he whispered words in an ancient language.

        A spell. He was casting a spell. Or a curse.

        As you took your last breath, a puff of air fell from your lips akin to a wisp of smoke. The wizard watched in horror and amazement as the wave of fog disappeared through the forest, in the shape of a human body.

        “Find me,” it had echoed. Bokuto hadn’t raised his head once, only whimpering against your neck as his tears watered the earth.

        “She’s gone,” he choked out. He grasped your hand and ran his chewed-raw lips over each finger. “She’s gone forever.”

        “No,” Akaashi shook his head, slowly rubbing a thumb against your cheek. He made sure that would never happen. A wave of tears at last crashed through his sturdy walls, and he softly smiled down at you as they carved salty trails down his cheeks. “She’s not.”

                                ~~~
        You raised your brows at the wizard and pursed your lips.
        “So… let me get this straight.”
        Bokuto’s eyes were closed on your lap, but you knew he wasn’t sleeping on account of the single tear that escaped the corner of his eye. You still brushed your fingers through his hair comfortingly, but just a tad slower now. You still… well, you still had some disbeliefs.
        Akaashi nodded at you to continue, but his eyes were locked on your balcony door like he had been watching the memories as a movie.
        “You cursed her as she died?”
        “As you died, yes.”
        “And then she-...” you gulped anxiously, “I get reincarnated every century?”
        “Yes.”
        “Hmm.” You nod and twitch your cheek while pulling your hands away from Bokuto’s scalp. “So you wacknuts think I’m this girl’s reincarnate.”
        “We know you are.” Akaashi swivels his head to face you. His blue eyes, though teary, burn straight through your soul. Not a single doubt is found in his face.
        “... You’re fucking crazy,” you mumble, avoiding his gaze.
        “Excuse me?”
        With sympathetic eyes, you huff a small sigh. “Look guys, I’m not some vampire queen, I’m not your mate, I-I’m not even a straight A student!” Akaashi stands and moves to sit by your side. With great effort, you try not to flinch away from his tight grasp on your hand while he gives you a pleading look.
        “YN please.”
        “Akaashi, come on!” You wrinkle your forehead and bite your lip. “I’m not the girl you’re looking for. I’m sorry.”
        His nostrils flare and he releases your hand with a spasming jaw. Bokuto sits up from your lap, pressing one hand outside of your thigh. Akaashi catches on and mocks the position on your other side.
        “Look into our eyes and tell us that you don’t even feel the smallest inkling that you’re meant to be with us.” It’s the first time you’ve seen Bokuto so dead serious. His gaze is unwavering as he stares deeply into your eyes, a hypnotizing shade of gold while Akaashi does the same.
        “... I can’t do that.”
        “Ah hah! Because we are your mates!” The vampire grins victoriously.
        “No! It’s because I can’t go reverse cross-eyed!” The smallest ounce of hesitation still swims inside you because… can this really all be real? Two highly attractive men have kidnapped you, and say that they want to be with you for the rest of their immortal lives. Oh, and you supposedly rule all vampires as a queen. Yeah, no shit you still have doubts. Though there is a small place in your heart for them for them, you don’t want to give them false hope.
        “...You can’t?” Bokuto asks, then proceeds to attempt his request and fails miserably. Shaking your head, you disguise a giggle behind your hand. Although, you still had one small question rattling around in the back of your brain.
        “So,” your confused voice captures their attention instantly as both heads turn to you, “you’ve kidnapped, like, five other me’s?”
        “Six, but yes,” Bokuto shrugs.
        “And they’ve all been okay with it?”
        “Well, usually we take more time to become acquainted with you, but Bokuto got antsy,” Akaashi mumbles with a flicker of judgment on his face.
        “Why?”
        “That fucking, smug-ass cat! He found you after eight-hundred Goddamn years!”
        “Oh” is all you can say. Your attention travels down to your hands as you twiddle your thumbs nervously, but a sight makes you pause and go rigid.
        The spiral, just as Akaashi described it, sits as three interconnected swirls on the center of your wrist. It hadn’t been there before; not until now, when Bokuto quickly snatches up your forearm and gasps at the sight.
        “Thank God, I was worried it wouldn't show up for months yet!” he cheers, tracing over the symbol like a nervous habit. The contact leaves the hairs on the back of your neck standing at attention, and you bite your tongue harshly to stay silent. Akaashi’s mouth curved up into a smile, and he carefully drew his eyes up to yours, giving you a nod.
        “Yes, I’m glad it’s shown up as well, but Bokuto, let’s give YN some time to think, yeah?”
        The vampire whines at the thought and reluctantly releases your arm, rising off the bed and finally giving you enough room to breathe. Akaashi copies his act, but not before brushing your thigh with his fingertips, and leads the way out of your bedroom.
        While you did need time to think, you knew that the amount provided would be significantly low thanks to Bokuto’s new nightly habits. With a small, inaudible curse, you hastily scramble off your mattress and snag his wrist just before he disappears into the hall with the wizard.
        “Bokuto, wait.” He turns back to you in confusion, but a lopsided grin crawls onto his face. The action almost makes you blush, but before you can berate yourself for even thinking of the idea, you allow your mouth to run. “If you’re just gonna come in later and wake me up like usual, why don’t you just stay now?” With a small shrug at the end, you mentally praise yourself for sounding so casual. Bokuto’s response is quite the mind boggler, though.
        First, his brows raise and he scratches his head at your words. Then he asks, “What are you talking about?”
        What? “C’mon, you know! Like when you crawl into my bed and wrap around me like a koala every night. Just stay here now so I don’t have to wake up, I really don’t mind.”
        “Umm, YN, the only times I’ve ever done that was this morning and a couple days ago when Akaashi was already in here.”
        “...Oh.”
        Huh.
                                ~~~

        The nights always seem to be cold before he climbs into your bed, and now is no different.

        As you shiver and burrow under your cozy comforter even more, the door to your bedroom slowly creaks open, then closes just as quietly. Tiptoed steps trail all the way to the edge of your mattress, and the tulle curtain shifts aside to allow him entrance. Your back always faces the door, so he slips under the covers behind you without an ounce of visibility on your part.

        His long arms are just the tiniest bit slimmer than his companion’s as they wrap around your waist and pull you into his solid chest, but he’s just as warm. While he settles in behind you, intertwining his cooler legs with your own and resting a knee between your thighs, you hum tiredly and tip your head back under his chin.

        “Mmm, goodnight Akaashi.”

        He tenses behind you and his arms tighten around your hips while you hear a pause in his breathing. The wizard laughs noiselessly at being caught red-handed and snuggles his face into your hair, pressing a kiss to your rose-scented scalp.

        “Goodnight, my love.”

May I request an angsty scenario in which Shigaraki has to leave his fatally injured s/o behind during a mission?

The Mushroom Cloud (Shigaraki x Reader)

image

*GIF not mine*

Summary: Shigaraki promised to come back for you in that warehouse. Promised to save you, pinned under exploded debris that crushed your legs to nothingness. The ambush wasn’t supposed to happen, but neither was the explosion that occurred after. “Fine, you can come. But if your ass gets blown up, don’t come cryin’ to me.”

A/N: Ouchie, this one’s gonna hurt y’all, just sayin’. As an author, I’m kinda required to want you to cry over this, so feel free to tell me if you do. As always, hope you enjoy!

Word count: 2012

        The mission wasn’t supposed to be easy. There were an enormous number of risks that came with it.

        “YN!”

        You had fought so hard to go with him, arguing every point and saying that you wanted to stay by his side. Impatience had won in the end, and in a fate-sealing way, your wish had been granted.

        “Fine, you can come. But if you’re ass gets blown up, don’t come cryin’ to me.”

        It was only supposed to be a joke. A little jab at you to show just how much he really wished you hadn’t joined the mission.

        They were blowing up a warehouse heroes used to hold supplies. First aid kits, medicine, anything else they would have needed in case the League of Villains had struck in a dangerous way. Decidedly, the group wasn’t too fond of the heroes possibly having an upper hand in the event of one of their attacks, so they struck.

        “AHH!”

        It was an ambush. Not even from heroes bound to a code to preserve all life, but from the country’s army. Soldiers trained to kill had flooded the enormous warehouse, firing at every moving target in their range until they had all fled.

        You were one of the few they hit.

        “YN!” Shigaraki cried out your name once more, pushing past fallen shelves and barely managing not to trip on the pill bottles they previously held. He followed your moans of pain, sprinting in the general direction of where they originated, along with where he had seen the flash of orange.

        Fired bullets echoed through the hollow building, bouncing off the metal walls and filling his ears as he searched for you.

        There. Trapped under a tipped forklift, you whined, banging against the machine with a hopeless desperation Shigaraki had never seen before. It drove a sliver of fear through his heart as he crashed to his knees beside you, barely holding back his own tears at the sight of your crushed legs.

        The angle at which they were bent was so wrong. Your knees had caved in on themselves, curving in a direct opposite way of how they should. Blood pooled on the floor beneath your thighs, directly where shattered glass from the machinery’s windshield had impaled your flesh.

        Your hands were shaking, covered in your own vital fluid as you let out strangled cries, pawing so desperately at the too-heavy weight.

        “YN! YN, look at me!” Shigaraki’s hands were trembling just as much, each finger begging to scratch at his neck in a nervous twitch. It was like he didn’t know what to do with them; first, he hovered them over your legs, then the weight above them, then finally on your face as he directed it to his.

        “It hurts,” you wailed, banging your head against the concrete floor below. Hot tears trailed down your face, and in the distance, the other villains tried to fend off the army soldiers.

        There were just too many.

        Shigaraki was at an age now where he knew when a battle had been lost. Everyone would have to flee and recover before the next attack on the heroes. But shit-- he had to get you out of here first.

        “Shh,” he hushed, scrambling for more words. He didn’t want to feed you-- or himself-- lies. “It’s- you’re-” he choked on a sudden weight in his throat. Something like a snake coiled around his stomach, tightening and tightening until he couldn’t speak anymore.

        In situations where Shigaraki lost his composure, you were always the one to take over for him. You were the one in your relationship that kept a level head, spoke with slow words, and always calmed him down.

        So even though it hurt, fuck it hurt so much, you knew what you had to do.

        “Tomura.” So much blood had drained from your body that when you lifted a hand, you almost flinched at how contrastingly pale it was compared to the liquid covering it. Nonetheless, you cupped his cheek, wiping away the small tear that had leaked out from under the hand. “You have to go-”

        “NO!”

        “Listen to me-”

        “NO YN,” he shouted, voice just barely audible above the grenade explosions and gunshots. “I know what you’re thinking, and it’s not happening.”

        “Tomura… you can find me later. You just need to get out of here now.”

        He opened his mouth to protest once more, only to duck his head at the flying debris of a nearby blast.

        “Just come back for me later! Get the others out now, and I’ll wait for you here.”

        “YN…” A bitter taste of pure bile crawled up his throat at the sight of your mangled legs, but he knew better than to try. As much as he hated to admit it, he wasn’t strong enough to lift the machine off you. Your solution was right; leave now, and come back later with someone stronger.

        He hadn’t realized it then, but you already knew there wasn’t a later.

        “Okay. But you better not do anything fucking stupid until I come back.” Anger flared in his stomach at his utter incapability of handling the situation. It disguised the hopelessness he felt, the despair in knowing he couldn’t be your knight in shining armor.

        Heroes be damned. Shigaraki wanted to be your savior right now.

        “Okay.” You mustered up the best smile you could, but it faltered with every unbearable twinge of your paralyzed legs. Even if you did make it out of this, somehow, you would never be able to walk again.

        After pulling away the hand on his face, he pressed a kiss to your lips. It was needy and frantic, a half-ditch effort to display your love for each other for what could be the last time.

        When Shigaraki pulled away, he saw blind faith in your eyes, but read it entirely wrong.

        He thought you trusted him to save you.

        You believed he was strong enough to move on from losing you.

        “Don’t. Go. Anywhere.”

        “I’ll try not to.”

        And with that, he rose one last time, gathering up his fallen hand and pressing it back to his face. Red pupils trailed up and down your body and its surroundings, memorizing the exact situation so he could find you later.

        “League, retreat! Villains, fall back!”

        At the call, his allies stopped their attacks. Flames stopped caressing fireproof soldiers. Knives, swords, and anything else flying at the heavily-guarded soldiers ceased in their movements, and suddenly the building flooded with stomping feet.

        He was almost surprised that was all it took, until he realized that everyone else was just as desperate to escape this hellhole as he was.

        The League would take this loss. But Shigaraki would never forget what it had cost him.

        Navigating the large warehouse was easy; though it was almost the size of a miniature airport hangar, it was mostly clear aside from the occasional wooden box and metal shelf stocked with health supplies. Through the fingers splayed across his face, Shigaraki trailed after his fellow villains, following them as they fled through the nearest garage door and into the surrounding forest, darkened with the dead of night.

        I can go back for her later.

        I can’t save her now.

        Later.

        Later.

        Later.

        “Shit, shit, shit,” he muttered, scratching at his neck when he finally caught up with the others, all stopped at a tree so far from the warehouse that it was just barely visible through the thick brush.

        Heavy panting combined with the natural hoots and calls of nature as everyone tried to catch their breath. Dabi slumped back against a tree, sliding to the ground and dropping his head back to let out a long groan. Toga followed suit, along with Twice and Spinner and before long, everybody was sitting in some way, dead tired from fighting on their feet for what felt like hours.

        As the last left standing, Shigaraki knew he was catching curious glances from the others, but he was too anxious to sit. His eyes, puffy from having to leave you behind, shifted over every villain at his disposal. Which one would be strong enough to-

        “Tomura.” Kurogiri, looking ever so restless in the shape of a constantly-fluttering, black cloud, eyed Shigaraki confusedly with his yellow gaze. “Where is YN?”

        “I had to leave her behind. Now I need someone to go back with me to-”

        He felt it before he heard it.

        The force of the boom. The wave of pure heat against his back, propelling him forward a good step or two. Then the white noise.

        Nothing could be heard. All he saw was the trees around him blowing wildly from the blast. If he could, he would have heard your scream. The explosion.

        Pure horror encompassed his face as his eardrums pounded.

        No.

        NO GODDAMNIT!

        Without a second thought, Shigaraki turned back toward the building, shouldering his way through bushes and weeds until he found it. Or what was left of it.

        Of course, the warehouse was unusable now. It had been ravaged by the League of Villains, looted of all its purpose.

        Of course they would dispose of it.

        A ploom of ash and smoke floated up into the sky, almost drowning out the moon and stars.

        The smell burned his nose. Charred metal and scorched earth, tainted with a hint of death.

        “No,” he whispered, so meekly he barely noticed he’d even said it aloud.

        The hand on his face falls to the grass with a dull thump.

        He couldn’t stand it. His knees wiggled underneath him until they finally gave out, allowing him to pathetically crumple to the floor. His lips quivered, his fingers twitched, his chest ached all at the sight.

        Nothing. There was nothing there. Ash rained from the sky, floating into Shigaraki’s hair as he slumped forward, slamming his palms against the blackened dirt. All that remained of its existence, of your existence, was a perfect circle of burnt ground.

        “No.”

        God, if he had looked closer into your eyes, he would have seen it. The despair. The utter hopelessness that came with knowing your fate. That came with knowing you were going to die, and nothing could stop it.

        You had hid it with a smile, and sealed it with a kiss.

        “No, YN.”

        He slammed his hands against the ground, screaming and shouting with every pound.

        “NO! FUCK! NO! I WAS COMING BACK FOR YOU! I WAS GOING TO SAVE YOU!”

        That’s not what you wanted. What you really wanted was for Shigaraki to not share your fate. You had been trapped by it, unable to move and only to embrace. The last thing you ever desired was to drag the love of your life down with you.

        His body convulses with each sob as he curls in on himself, pressing his face into the dirt and letting out his strangled howls of grief.

        “God- fuck, I was going to save you, YN,” he nuzzles his face against the ground, wishing it was the skin of your shoulder he loved to kiss so much. “I promise. I was going to come back for you.”

        Shigaraki hadn’t just lost you.

        No; it was never that simple.

        Everything he ever had, the future that was in his grasp-- all gone up in a cloud of smoke.

        The promise ring you wore.

        The smile on your face.

        The child growing in your stomach.

        He had truly lost everything.
