Hey guys heres one of my favourite extracts from the literally story I'm currently writing:

TW: Descriptions of pain, blood, fainting, and fighting.

Devan hit the ground and felt pain blossoming in his nose. Great. Just what he needed a broken, bloody nose as well as a broken rib. Blood trickled onto the floor as he scrambled to get to his feet. Wiping his sleeve across his face Devan tried to clean off some of the blood but inky succeeded in smearing it to his ear. Grabbing hold of him again, the lady pressed on his ribs and he cried. The pain was like nothing he'd ever felt before. Like fire, roaring through his blood. He fought against the darkness tugging at the corners of his vision. He would not black out. He would not black out. She jabbed her fingers into the place where his ribs where now misshapen and burning. Darkness offered him salvation from the pain. He gave in. Stopped fighting. Stopped.

I was up until midnight last night because I had an idea for a poem about monsters.

Monsters. Of all the things to keep me awake.

Anyway have my midnight musings I guess:

I never had time to fear the monsters in the dark

In the shadows

The corners

Under the beds

Or in the cupboards.

Not when there were so many

That prowled during the day

With smiles on their too tight lips

That don't quite reach their eyes

And grips on my slight wrists

That "don't hurt" but bruise

And hollow promises slipping

From their tongues, poisoned with lies.

I was never afraid of the monsters in the dark,

How bad could they be?

When I had learned to live with the ones

Who like to pretend they were everything

Good about this Earth.

The ones who bathed in sunlight

Like it could hide their nature

In a golden glow.

But look close enough and you'll see

Shadows in their eyes that only exist for me.

Just so you know this was written at midnight so you be kind to it please, I'm also not a poet in any respect and normally can hardly string two words together, but whatever it is about the magic of that time when no one else is awake prompted this. So enjoy it I guess.

And who knows maybe I'll put up some of my other angsty poems.

Okay but can we all just agree that writer's block bloody sucks. I've been off school all week and I haven't been able to write a single thing, which is just incredibly unfair because this is essentially the only time I'll have until after all my exams and yet I haven't written a word for at least a month.

If anyone has any tips they would be greatly appreciated.

The Hero didn't know what to say, they didn't want to hurt Villain's feelings but at the same time, they just burned down a freaking building. So Hero exasperated said, "Yes I'm warm now, thank you. Go and put out that fire, NOW!" Villain slinked off towards the burning building muttering about how they only wanted to help and that they wouldn't do anything next time they would just leave Hero to freeze. Hero smiled they supposed it was sweet that Villain had tried to help but they didn't need to burn down buildings this time. It wasn't like the last time.

Writing prompt 2

Hero was cold, they rubbed their unclothed arms in an attempt to create warmth through the friction. It was their turn to patrol the uninhabited village in the desolate part of the kingdom. At that moment the building a few blocks away from them lit up in flames. Immediately their hands flew to cover their eyes and face, backing away they hit something. After quickly considering whether the distance was safe enough they dropped their hands and turned around. There stood Villain with a proud smile on their face, "Are you warm now?" they asked. Their expression looked like they gave Hero a blanket instead of burning down a building.

Hey everyone, so I came up with a whole bunch of different AU's in English the other day and wanted to share them with you all.

Soulmate AU - In a world where you can only see the colour of your soulmates eyes when you meet them. If your soulmate dies you lose the ability to see that colour, your soulmate died a month ago but you can still see the colour of their eyes.

Space AU - Your home planet has been destroyed and you and five others are the only remaining survivors. Your spaceship ran out of fuel a week ago and you only have enough food for 2 more days. When you run out of food another spaceship finds and rescues you. The only problem; they are from the same alien race that destroyed your home planet - Earth.

Fairytale AU - You travelled into your favourite fairytale in hopes of finding your own happily ever after only to find that the stories were wrong. The princesses did not get a happily ever after especially if they tried to kill the prince. The stories you know and love were written by men hoping to oppress the uprising among women. It was working until you got there and stirred everything up.

Future AU - You volunteered to test out a prototype time machine to earn some extra cash, they said you would be sent 30 secs into the future, you were sent 80 years into the past and now you must figure out how to survive in a world where women have none of the rights you used to have.
