Endgame Spoilers - please beware!

The thing that amazed and actually moved me the most about Endgame was how it wasn’t a single character alone that was the solution to the whole problem at hand. The whole team was included, it couldn’t have been done without anyone missing.

Without Carol they would have NEVER gotten Tony and Nebula back. wouldn’t have found the green planet and also of course wouldn’t have known about the fate of the stones that quickly

Without Scott they wouldn’t have ever began to thought about the final solution of how to get everyone back. He, yes the tiny “unpopular” Ant Man was the one who gave them the very signifcant first push

Without Nat they wouldn’t have stayed a Team at all. She was the one who kept the whole thing running, who stayed with the Avengers initiative, even though many adivsed her to just leave it behind, but she didn’t

Without Bruce and his acceptance of the Hulk they wouldn’t have been able to actually use the glove for the very first time and, of course, they would have had a much harder time actually building their final creation

Without Cap they would have missed the probably most important leadership position and emotional source of strength in their entire team. He was the one who kept everyone going, who never let his will and mind get broken even though the situation at times looked that hopeless

Without Clint they wouldn’t have had one of the most fearless members of the team. Being the first to actually give the “”whole thing”” a try and (just like * ) not even sparing a single thought about giving his everything and life to finish their mission

Without Nebula and Gamora and their sisterhood they wouldn’t have been able to retrive the stones for a second time and in that case stop Thanos once and for all

And without Tony, yeah without Tony… I think it’s needless that I even continue here, isn’t it

And that weren’t even all!! I’m pretty sure I forgot a whole bunch since I’m only recapitulating this from my pure memory (and I’d also like to credit all the dusted here, like Strange and Parker ofc, damn, they did their parts as well) But the thing is that the entire time I had the feeling that without Thor they would have been eventually better off and this is just so plain wrong. Thor has NEVER been a “useless” character, in the contrary. Without him in Avengers 1 they wouldn’t have been able to break Loki’s schemes, he fought the Hulk and did his part part during the New York battle as well. And in AOU?? HE had the vision of the stones, HE was the one who eventually brought Vision to life because he knew it was the right thing to do. And I let out my biggest sigh of relief after IW because they REALLY carried Taika’s legacy so well - giving Thor one of the most epic superhero entrances in history and claiming his spot as the “strongest” Avenger (speaking of physical strength in this sense of course). So I really left the cinema baffled after Endgame because at the end I felt like Thor hasn’t been a part of the movie at all. It’s okay to give a character a sense of comedic relief but reducing him fully towards it, especially a character as Thor - I don’t even know what to say. We all were hoping to see his character prospering and that’s the thing. YES, we knew that Thor would blame himself, that he would go through a hard time - but the Thor we knew wouldn’t have coped with his depressions like THIS. It would have made him stronger, more eager and he wouldn’t be able to rest until he’d know that he fixed it all. So that character that they portrayed in the movie - I’m sorry but that wasn’t Thor at all. Right now I’m just confused and stunned - and really don’t know what we should hope for. A fourth Thor movie?? For them to somehow fix that mess of a character they left behind??? Well. On top of that I’d also just like to point out that depressions and PTSD should never be topics to serve as comic relief. And they really scratched my line of acceptance here because it was more than plain obvious that Thor was dealing with exactly that.

I’m just gonna say that I like to pretend that Thor took his well deserved break during Endgame and that’s it. Other than that I LOVED Endgame, I know many disagree but from my point of view it was a fantastic movie, starting with a lot of humor, eventually turning into this whole epic momentum and final battle, I was speechless and on my edge the entire time. The portrayel of Thor was one of the only few things that were truly bothering me, and of course, for me who has a Thor-biased blog, it was really a kind of hard pillow to swallow. We could have gotten so much, but the Russo brothers really ruined everything Taiki and Chris build up (and I’m also not someone who blames the actors for how bad their characters turn out, Chris did a fantastic job!).

I’m simply gonna end my long train of thoughts here because now I’m really curious to hear how you think about the whole thing and movie. My inbox and DM’s are open, so don’t feel shy and let us chatter a bit! 😊
