I’m on a Newsies kick right now, so…. I may have watched livesies like 5 times this week, but what ever. I just got an idea. So you know how Spot is called the King of Brooklyn? And Race is the King of New York? AU were two kingdoms hate each other and then their two crown princes fall in love (definitely enemies to lovers) and it’s the story of Race and Spot becoming kings and hiding their love or something like that. Now I just wish I had the skill to write…
Here is some Aralas from a modern AU I’m writing!
(the art was made on Ina’s Couple Creator)
The elves always seem to blame man for evil and darkness. Always saying they’re weak and gullible. But it’s not the elves who continue to fight even after the walls breached, It’s not elves who charge into scores of orcs, who attack the black gate with no hope that they can win for the slight chance that it will help Frodo and Sam. I’m not saying the elves are not brave or did not help destroy the ring, they did. I’m just saying they have no right to call mortals weak.
The elves lost hope and most sailed to Valar, the humans lost hope and charged to war.
If I ask my future partner “You’re like the Achilles to my Patroclus” and they say “weren’t they just friends?” I will leave them on the spot.
So though it is true that Narnia and Tolkien do have Christianity written into them, the main messages are not inherently religious. The ideas of good and friendship and fighting for what you believe in, whether religious or not, are for everyone, not just christians. I am an atheist and I still relate to the main themes in these works because even if I don’t believe in god I believe in other things such as love and loyalty, which are also themes in these books. So even if the authors were christian, the stories can still be relevant and relatable to all.
So stop gatekeeping. The stories do not belong to a specific religion and can be enjoyed and interpreted by all.
Non-Christians should not be allowed to touch Narnia or Tolkien/LOTR. Those were made for us and belong to us.
5 new crushes I’ve gotten cuz of Newsies. Their not really crushes, per-se, just like, damn, they’re fine (who am I kidding, Kara Lindsay as Katharine is *sigh* and Ben Tyler Cook as Race is also *sigh*)
You know what I love about Lord of the Rings? The characters are human. They make mistakes, they fail, some loose hope. But, in the end, they succeed, they get over their failure and triumph. They fall, but they get up, stand on their broken limbs, brush off the dirt, and they keep fighting. Why? They don’t have to, they could give in to the darkness, but they don’t, because they’re holding on to something. That there’s still good in the world.
(She/they) this is now a fandom blog I guess. enjoy my stupid content!
