Final fantasy 16 thoughts and mild spoilers
Can’t believe there was never a moment in the game where Clive called his brother Josh. Would have been hilarious.
Also where did the Clive who was just as dotting as his mother go?
When Joshua came back, I thought Clive would do the whole big brother thing he did when he was 15 but then realize he can’t scold his adult brother anymore.
All I want is grown man Clive telling Joshua the silly times they had when they were kids. Fond memories of him and Joshua playing or something. Why don’t they share stories of their youth? The last time Clive saw his baby brother was when he was 10. No comments about his appearance or anything?
SAKURA’S CONFESSION
Honest to god, I hate that the Sakura confession scene has been so hated. I never thought it would be so controversial.
But one take I haven’t seen and maybe I’m alone on this was that, when I first watched the scene, I honest to god that it was a test run from the authour’s side to see how fans would ACTUALLY react if Sakura did develop feelings towards Naruto.
I truly do believe even though the writer had his planned final pairings, that he still did test around with toying with the idea of different pairings like Naruto x Sakura.
Remember when Yamato during the bridge arc made a comment towards Sakura about her care towards Naruto? I think the bridge arc was when someone said in one of the databooks, Sakura was noted to be confused about her thoughts on Naruto. It was implied that she was maybe developing feelings towards him post timeskip.
As a NaruSaku shipper, I see the confession scene was the ultimate acknowledgement of the slow romantic tension that had built around the two. I know this is super subjective but still.
Anyway, during her confession, I remember she was blushing and shit, honestly I took that initially as her admitting to herself that “yeah I guess I’m saying something I kinda been feeling lately out loud and it kinda feels good”. I don’t know why so many people took her confessions as super evil and manipulative. Again, I know I’m being bias but my girl isn’t a good liar come on. When she lies, she does that closed smile thing with a voice crack.
Also, remember when Naruto rejected her confession and they started arguing about the validity of her confession and she was like “why are you telling me I’m wrong” moment. To me, that means it was more genuine and if anything she was shocked that Naruto thought she was lying.
Now, I’m not saying she didn’t have ulterior motives or anything. She of course did but I think that she honest to god was okay with “settling” with Naruto. Like at some point in early Shippuden, she started to like both of her comrades.
I know people like to sanitize the romances between the characters because it’s cleaner that way. It is messy if characters marry their partners but the story also acknowledges that they crushed on other people before then. I’ve seen people purposely not acknowledge his long term crush on Sakura because well, he’s married to Hinata but like cmon guys - let’s not do that because that is a narrative change and something you can really downplay because there are 200+ episodes of the guy liking another girl who isn’t his future wife.
YESS
I feel like no one acknowledges that realistically, the two weren’t going to work well together in an environment where there are higher stakes. They both have different life philosophies among other things.
It’s a general life lesson everyone learns but that’s not the point of LC but an interesting aspect/deconstruction of the best friend trope working together.
Was not able to go to AX but found this from someone who did on reddit.
This is one anecdote from the director regarding the show.
"...regarding the choice/dynamic of having 2 male MCs: having observed many other media, Haoling decided that splitting 1 protagonist into 2 characters would make for better storytelling. by giving the characters only half of what they need, their abilities are more grounded, they are forced to cooperate socially, it gives the audience more entertaining and dynamic banter, and they must build trust in order to effectively accomplish tasks."
Love this statement. When I would explain to my friends why people should watch LC, I would say its a time travel show with an unique premise. There are two main leads. Imagine both are trying to ace a midterm (you can pair up with a buddy lol). One person has the paper & pencil and the other has the answer key. They can't ace the midterm alone without the help of each other's resources - so they must to work together to ace the test because they can only do it once. What seems like a simple example gets applied to solving puzzles/mysteries and finding data.
The interesting part is that the main leads have very different approaches to accomplishing the tasks that they are given. Even though they were friends for a long time, when serious things happen like working a job together, they struggle with their different mindsets and it causes a lot of strife between them.
Slowly, there became a lack of trust between the leads as both of them start to withhold info from the other. That makes it worse and it hits a boiling point.
Something so simple that happens all the time in real life yet is often never depicted in such a real sense, particularly in an animation format. I like the style of anime but I want my stories to be grounded. I want to see my struggles on the screen.
It's also kinda validating to see a friendship fall apart once you decide to become co workers with one another and realize that just because you two both like basketball, doesnt mean maybe you should run a high-stress somewhat illegal business together right after uni to pay off debt :/
Can Sephiroth leave Cloud alone for one second, he is on vacation.
Dang they knew each other for that long. Dion did not seem too bothered during their breakup.
how can i live on like this
I feel like because the four main boys were so overpowered in the first game, that the writers thought it would be better to make them weak allies so players can use the side character allies. All the best superhero allies are underused or side characters in the show. Maybe because a complaint for the first game was that players couldn't have Wendy or Clyde as their ally?
I’m replaying stick of truth to get the trophies in the game. I think I prefer Cartman’s abilities as the grand wizard rather than him as the coon in fractured but whole. His powers do more damage in stick of truth even if he dies quickly but as the coon he just sucks but I think that’s how it’s supposed to be because he’s not meant to be a good hero.

happy pride :)
I hope they do something silly for Star Wars. (They won't.)
I hope we see the destiny trio team up. (They won't.)
INUYASHA STANS I NEED YOUR HELP
I vividly remember watching an inuyasha movie/really well animated long sequence where Inuyasha and a black hair girl who I assume is Kagome fighting someone who ice powers. Inuyasha gets trapped into a giant ice block. The ice block scatters and there is blood everywhere. Like it’s really graphic and low key traumatic for seven year old me. It’s heavily implied that Inuyasha died. BUT like 10-20 minutes later, Inuyasha comes back somehow and keeps fighting in this prolonged fight sequence with someone.
Is this a real thing that happened or did I just imagine it? I vividly remember that Inuyasha was the character because of his red robe, white hair and dog like features. I had seen his character design before seeing the sequence while channel surfing.
I have one friend who watched Inuyasha and is somewhat confident what I’m describing is from one of the movies or the OVAs.
Please help it’s been bothering me that I can’t find it 😭😭😭
I wanna watch challenges because the only two things I know about it is that tennis is somehow involved in the plot and there is supposedly a really graphic scene of Zendaya’s breaking her ankle(?) which was entirely done by a real-sized replica of Zendaya’s lower half and torso.
The director is from bones and all, a movie no one but me has seen so I’m expecting the movie to be secretly a horror movie. Also the writer was like some meme back in early YouTube before 2010?
It sounds promising to me at least.
think, clyde, think
