But Sasuke is too damaged to be a good partner. Have you seen Boruto? In canon, he’s not great. He’s not the angry child he was as a teenager but it seems his character development leaned into being less angry than being a better friend or partner. He still does the bare minimum and gets rewarded for it. The canon explanation for his actions are work-related but the writers can’t write him to be more involved because it doesn’t align with his character. Yes there are my opinions but I take them from the canon and assess it on my own. If you keep up with Boruto, you know that I literally reference the plot points without actually citing and referencing them. At the end of the day, it seems you only have an issue with the one sentence that I wrote “damaged and can never recover”. I don’t know what to say, you gotta read the next sentence and more. I said it’s complicated and I never directly said he’s a bad partner, he’s just not a good one because people want more from him that he can’t give due to writing issues. Naruto and Sakura (from my understanding) want much more in a partner than what Sasuke can provide. He’s not doing it purposely to hurt them, he just wants to be alone but as a father and husband he can’t. That’s not a bad thing because it’s better for him in the end.

Regarding trauma, I don’t know what to say - I know enough not to engage too much on that topic here. I’m talking about a fictional character who has deep trauma. He’s not a real person so what you stated previously doesn’t really matter to me or apply. Me making that comment doesn’t mean it’s a reflection on how I view people with real pain. He has a fictional past and issues. The writers can absolutely retcon his entire backstory by tomorrow. What I said about his character doesn’t exactly apply to real people. He is a fictional character in a story with a beginning and end. Within that space, he’s not a great partner or friend. The canon reasonings for enough positive development on that area seems to be from his backstory. It just goes against his character I guess. It sounds like you relate a lot to Sasuke’s trauma and feel personally attacked by my comment. That’s my only comment on your personal being.

I don’t think I said anything particularly awful, if anything I reiterated the canon material with my own spin on the wording. I also didn’t say I felt attacked, I just said you were aggressive accusing me of being a bad person. We will agree to disagree there and the world keeps moving. I still do think you need to chill. You’re not gonna survive the real world if you are losing it after a comment like that about Naruto x Sasuke.

I think Boruto era Naruto x Sasuke shippers need to understand that Sasuke won’t be a better partner if he’s with Naruto. It doesnt matter if he secretly elopes with Naruto, he won’t be staying. He has commitment issues and literally can’t stay in one place for too long. I know he loves his brother still but his brother is the sole reason why he’s an incredibly damaged individual who literally will never recover from his trauma. I get that it’s super complicated but it’s one of those things that are indescribable. His brother fucked him over when he didn’t need to (the 518400 times thing) that he fundamentally changed his brain chemistry.

Additionally, I feel like he can’t handle the responsibility of his personal life. He’s the kinda guy who will leave people on read or delivered for months you know? It’s the emotional baggage and genuinely wanting solitude even though he knows it’s not the best path for him. It’s almost like a bad habit, constantly wanting to be alone even though what gets you through the day is knowing you have loved ones waiting for you at home.

Romance does not factor into his character, he’s barely involved with his family because his trauma and baggage goes beyond that.

In canon, it’s because of his job and his past actions that make him feel unwelcome in the village sure. But why should he care about people he doesn’t know? The people he knows want him back more often. He just doesn’t want to for his atonement. He does prioritize Naruto over his family but he still sees the guy like every few years for half an hour before he teleports away again. He doesn’t even hang out with him when he’s back.

What I’m trying to say is that he would 100% treat Naruto the same way he treats Sakura as a romantic partner. Which is find excuses to not hang out and immediately leave after work is done.

People write fanfics about them owning an apartment or whatever, divorcing their partners to be with eachother, etc. yes it’s fanfic lol people can do whatever they want but I would love to read a fic that explores what I’m talking about here.

Yall I love all of you Sephiroth girlies but I have a big favour to ask yall.

PLEASE PLAY THE GAMES. Dont just watch only watch the 40 minute Sephiroth cutscene on YouTube and base your entire perception of the guy. If yall at least learned the plot of the game, you would really appreciate the character more.

MORE OVER, THE QUALITY OF SEPHIROTH FANFICS WOULD INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY IF YALL COULD REFERENCES SOME OF THE GAME’S LOCATIONS AND NAIL DOWN SUPPORTING CHARACTER MOTIVATIONS AND PERSONALITY.

Some of yall don’t know Sephiroth’s characterization and seem to go off your personal headcanons or use typical anime tropes when writing him. Sephiroth isn’t some anime bad boy, he’s vindictive, petty and scary soft spoken. Just look at how he flicked Aerith’s blood off his masamune towards Cloud. Or when his hand kept running up Cloud’s back and up unto his neck in one of Cloud’s hallucinations. I get that from watching clips out of context, his actions might seem like a dom daddy and all but he’s more than that if you see it through different perspectives. Like don’t forget, he’s trying to destroy the world with a giant meteor crashing down and wiping everyone out.

SAKURA’S CONFESSION

Honest to god, I hate that the Sakura confession scene has been so hated. I never thought it would be so controversial.

But one take I haven’t seen and maybe I’m alone on this was that, when I first watched the scene, I honest to god that it was a test run from the authour’s side to see how fans would ACTUALLY react if Sakura did develop feelings towards Naruto.

I truly do believe even though the writer had his planned final pairings, that he still did test around with toying with the idea of different pairings like Naruto x Sakura.

Remember when Yamato during the bridge arc made a comment towards Sakura about her care towards Naruto? I think the bridge arc was when someone said in one of the databooks, Sakura was noted to be confused about her thoughts on Naruto. It was implied that she was maybe developing feelings towards him post timeskip.

As a NaruSaku shipper, I see the confession scene was the ultimate acknowledgement of the slow romantic tension that had built around the two. I know this is super subjective but still.

Anyway, during her confession, I remember she was blushing and shit, honestly I took that initially as her admitting to herself that “yeah I guess I’m saying something I kinda been feeling lately out loud and it kinda feels good”. I don’t know why so many people took her confessions as super evil and manipulative. Again, I know I’m being bias but my girl isn’t a good liar come on. When she lies, she does that closed smile thing with a voice crack.

Also, remember when Naruto rejected her confession and they started arguing about the validity of her confession and she was like “why are you telling me I’m wrong” moment. To me, that means it was more genuine and if anything she was shocked that Naruto thought she was lying.

Now, I’m not saying she didn’t have ulterior motives or anything. She of course did but I think that she honest to god was okay with “settling” with Naruto. Like at some point in early Shippuden, she started to like both of her comrades.

I know people like to sanitize the romances between the characters because it’s cleaner that way. It is messy if characters marry their partners but the story also acknowledges that they crushed on other people before then. I’ve seen people purposely not acknowledge his long term crush on Sakura because well, he’s married to Hinata but like cmon guys - let’s not do that because that is a narrative change and something you can really downplay because there are 200+ episodes of the guy liking another girl who isn’t his future wife.

Don’t want to be too nitpicky but the animation for the first two episodes was kinda choppy. Also felt like it wasn’t as creatively directed (animation, background, sound cues etc) as the first few episodes.

Hope it gets better because I loved the teaser trailers - very stylish and I thought it would have the same energy

Unpopular opinions on mlm ships

It’s weird. I’ll watch Banana fish, Sk8, JJK, Buddy Daddies and even Link Click and come to the conclusions that the main mlm ships (Ash x Eiji, Langa x Reki, Geto x Gojo, Kazuki x Rei, & Lu Guang x Cheng Xiaoshi) are all just good friends and have no romantic chemistry.

It’s honestly really jarring to not really engage in previously named fandoms until much later after completing the show and being surprised by people’s interpretations of character interactions.

For example, until Reki and Langa talk about something else besides skateboarding, I don’t see any romantic chemistry. Same with Kazuki and Rei with something else other than Miri and their jobs, Lu Guang and Cheng Xiaoshi with their time traveling, and I think Geto and Gojo just needed more moments together. Ash and Eiji are an unique case, I read the manga first and I didn’t get queer vibes from the story. They also just seemed like good friends to me :/

However, I’ll believe Yuji and Megumi from JJK are totally into each other. I feel like it’s because they had more interactions within the story that suggested a stronger bond than Geto and Gojo. I don’t really get me either.

Something tells me South Park will be like how they treat the Looney Tunes show. It will have its original run but other people want South Park to continue, even if that means having new writing staff and voice actors. Honestly, I had no idea South Park was even worth that much money. I guess it really is cheap af to make.

Trey Parker and Matt Stone will use the money to make new episodes of “South Park” for Viacom’s Comedy Central network and to create several spinoff movies for the company’s Paramount+ streaming service, the parties said Thursday. Their first project under the new deal will be a movie set in the world of “South Park” that will debut some time before the end of the year.

Finished reading my lost himawari. It’s a SNS doujin that I understand has mixed to positive reviews.

I think it’s okay, a lot wrong with it tbh but there are two stand out chapters/sequences that I really wish were canon.

Naruto’s Hokage inauguration Genjutsu

Like a lot of people, I wasn’t very happy with the that fact Naruto missed his big day. I really like the idea that after Sasuke had heard about Naruto missing the event, he decided to put him in a genjutsu that had him experience it in his own way. It’s really thoughtful from Sasuke’s end, regardless of it coming from a sns fic. I just wish he actually did this because he cares about Naruto and knew how much being Hokage matters to him.

Conclusion to Shippuden Ep 479

This sequence was everything I wanted when I first watched the episode. I was shocked that Naruto was letting Sasuke go again without a fight. It’s like he seemed happy about Sasuke leaving the leaf again after all his efforts. I never thought Naruto would take the news gracefully. Additionally, the idea that Naruto would dissociate and stare into the distance for hours after Sasuke left is chefs kiss. He 💯 did that in canon. I also like the implication, that despite Naruto getting what he wanted on paper, he still doesn’t have sasuke by his side all the time. There is nothing more painful than knowing that phones and all exist (also teleporting) but Naruto doesn’t hear back from Sasuke unless it’s in person which in canon is every two to ten years of radio silence. It’s heart breaking and sometimes, it makes sense why some people think he somewhat moved on to Hinata because he was in some sense, killing time and found a way to cope with Sasuke’s absence by spending time with someone who makes time for you. Nothing is stopping them from seeing eachother and no one is getting chased around.

Anyways, those are my thoughts. Fics about cheating are complicated because the topic itself is such a bummer. I get long time fans being disappointed in the pairings but wow does it feel like major projection at times.

Also it’s weird but I’m conflicted on the sns ship. I still believe it’s one-sided and also Sasuke shouldn’t be in a relationship because he is the problem in all of his pairings. That being said, I like the doujin writers take that sasuke and Naruto would take turns doing each other. Like the thought that both of them thought they were topping. I slightly prefer Sasuke as the one topping but whatever, that’s not important. I’m glad there is no nsfw moments until after the story concluded and everything else was filler lol
