Triple Falls, Upper Horsetail Falls. A great couple of hikes today just east of Portland along the historic route 30. Absolutely fantastic way to spend the later part of day.
Final day of shooting on Saipan. Amazing day. Lots I would love to share but I can't. I'll announce more closer to the air date.
The beautiful waters of Saipan. Heading back for a short shoot. #production #photography #travel #adventure #nature #myoffice
Keeva and I went to the #climatemarch today. It was fantastic. The most amazing thing...the #waterprotectors . You know this group of native Americans from the #nodapl protests in #standingrock. There were thousands of people marching for the same thing, all in unity, all doing our thing. But when the Standing Rock group arrived, things were real. I looked down at the end of the march, our destination at a refinery, and saw the Standing Rock group face to face with the security of Tesoro refinery. I said to Keeva, "This is a march, THAT is a protest." She said, "Do you want to go?" "Yes." She said, "Let's go." As we made our way to the front, we were pretty far back, the Standing Rock group were returning. Thousands parted instantly to make room and let them through. Their intensity was palpable. I suddenly realized that I was there to show support, the Water Protectors were there fighting for their lives. It was different game, one with real stakes. We've become so used to corporations taking away our rights, feeding us misinformation, making us think something absurd is actually normal, that we aren't even sure how to fight or what to fight for. We spend our time fighting each other over stupid, trivial, nonsense. The Water Protectors were on another level o reality. It was impressive. They made their presence known and many thousands of people could tell that there is even more at stake than our bottled water society can comprehend. It was a good day. This was my fourth march and seeing people in massive numbers rally together in a positive, yet powerful way, is encouraging.
I had just enough time on a recent DC trip to do one quick walk through the National Mall. A beautiful night. All pics taken with the Samsung Note 8. Love this phone! #production #photography #travel #adventure #sunset

One waterfall apiece. I really thought I was about to see a hat trick of Darwin awards. Notice all three people are standing on a damp, slick surface with a level 10, code red deacceleration trauma at the end of a long slide - all for a photo. It was really worrisome to watch people do this. Two other girls were doing the same thing moments before. However, these three seemed so intent on lining up with their own waterfall exit you could hear the moment knocking at the door even above the roar of the crashing water. Luckily, nothing happened. That being said, things like this do happen every day this time of year. Our national parks are stunning places and this hike was one of the best I've undertaken in a long time. So many waterfalls and beautiful scenes. With all that I saw, I couldn't get this potential tradegy out of my head - and it didn't even happen. Be careful as you enjoy an amazing summer. Remember, if you die - that story will be told over and over. Don't let it be a face-palm ending. Stay safe!
