The way some of y'all say "the term transandrophobia is misogynistic because misandry isn't real" is like swerfs who say "the term whorephobia is misogynistic because it calls women whores"

the worst part about the tma/tme binary is that even julia serano, the person who LITERALLY COINED THE WORD TRANSMISOGYNY, isnt entirely sure about using them. quote from her essay “What Is Transmisogyny?”:

“Part of why I’m writing this now is that I’ve seen the term increasingly debated online lately. These debates are often centered on the more recent terms TMA (transmisogyny affected) and TME (transmisogyny exempt), which I did not coin. I have no objections to TMA and TME per se — they seem like potentially useful non-binary- and non-identity-based ways of discussing the phenomenon. But I’m admittedly not familiar with everything that others are saying or claiming under this newer rubric, so there may potentially be some points of disagreement.”

and again, quote from her essay “On “Male Socialization” and the “Trans Masc Versus Trans Fem” Discourse™”:

“When I first saw the terms “transmisogyny affected” (TMA) and “transmisogyny exempt” (TME), I thought they were potentially useful nonbinary and non-identity-based ways of discussing the phenomenon. But sometimes, they seem to be used in response to the trans male/masculine reactions to transmisogyny that I described in the previous paragraph. And if you mistakenly presume that “transmisogyny” = “only trans female/feminine people experience misogyny,” then “transmisogyny exempt” will likely strike you as a doubling down on argument #2.”

(argument #2 was referring to an earlier point she made, arguing against cultural feminism (the idea that woman=good and man=bad) and how it implies (another quote, same article):

Trans male/masculine people are the victims of male oppression…Which, if true, implies that trans female/feminine people are “male oppressors.”

Trans female/feminine people are the victims of male oppression…Which, if true, implies that trans male/masculine people are “male oppressors.”

All trans people have been corrupted/poisoned by maleness/masculinity in one way or another, which, if true, means that we should all be lumped into the “male oppressor” category.)

Yeaaaah transandrophobes are prone to misgendering any trans person they don't like, because according to them we're all secretly anti-feminist men in disguise :(

Seriously though, I think it's the attitude a lot of them have that goes "I only care about other queer people who are exactly like me and share my beliefs and experiences. Everyone else is my enemy." So it blows their mind when people who aren't trans men advocate for y'all. They can't comprehend caring about other people.

Oh! So apparently “transandrobros” is used to describe anyone who sticks up for trans men, so this means that any trans woman/fem who sticks up for us is targeted and misgendered! That’s awesome! This will definitely protect trans women and fems from transmisogyny!

People need to stop using the term “baeddel” for themselves OR others.

It is an intersexist and transmisogynistic slur.

Alert Alert A Trans Man Expressed Enjoyment In Being A Man For A Moment And Didn’t Feel Sorry About

alert alert a trans man expressed enjoyment in being a man for a moment and didn’t feel sorry about it y’all gotta do something about it how dare he say “men are cool” without stating he knows oppression and patriarchy exists and he’s sorry before that

the radical feminism on this site is so insidious and widespread that even trans people are falling into it left and right despite it directly and immediately hurting us all.

this is an example of why people say "you are not immune to propaganda". if you as a trans person fall into the radical feminism pipeline i am begging you to take a second to remember:

misogyny is not the be-all-end-all of oppression. men can be oppressed. women can be oppressors. men can be victims of gendered violence. women can be the perpetrators of gendered violence. the gender and sex binaries are not real, and nonbinary and intersex people deserve to have their voices heard, too. our community is a spectrum of all different identities and expriences that are stronger together than we are apart. all of our voices are important and all of our experiences deserve to be heard.

and most importantly: anyone telling you otherwise has a vested interest in dividing up the trans community for political gain. do not do their work for them.

"when X trans group does this harmless thing it's cool and good and Praxis but when Y trans group does it it's cringe and bigoted and evil :( "

congratulations, you just reinvented the gender binary! should we all clap? should we hire a clown? should we tell the feds how you played right into their hands? should we all watch our trans ancestors roll over in their graves together?

Also, as someone who’s not a man-

Isn’t it demeaning? To act like you’re so helpless that you need a big strong man to come save you? Isn’t it insulting? To think you’re the only one who’s ever been a victim, so protecting you is a man’s job?

I’m not going to ask the men in my life to protect me, because I know we already have each other’s backs.

Trans men don’t have to be personally useful to you for them to be valuable members of the community. Stop treating them like tools.

Stop asking trans men to throw themselves on the sword so you can be shielded from transphobia.

Stop acting like it’s their job to protect you, just because they’re men.

Don’t ask trans men to defend you or speak up for you if you’re not willing to return the favor.

We’re supposed to protect each other regardless of identity; it needs to be a two-way street. That’s the whole fucking point of this community.
