Life has taught me that you cannot control someone’s loyalty. No matter how good you are to them, doesn’t mean they will treat you the same. No matter how much they mean to you, does NOT mean that they will value you the same. Sometimes the people you love the most, turn out to be the people you can trust the least.

If a heart becomes attached to anything other than Allāh, Allāh will make him dependant on what he is attached to and he will eventually be betrayed by it. The more you care, the more you’ll feel.

How sad is it that we pray to God, but our minds are elsewhere. I ask Allah to not allow our hearts to be so attached to this dunya and our minds so preoccupied with it. Especially when we worship Him. May He forgive us.

231116 - it’s 3 days to my next paper and less than a week to the end of finals!! Feeling so blessed this semester that I got to do modules that remind me of why I chose to major in theatre in the first place! From learning about Sanskrit theatre, to reading Butler and Derrida in Performance Studies class, I’ve been fortunate enough to encounter ideas and theories that have given me new perspectives eeek!!
