The last few episodes of The On1y One emphasized the casual public and private intimacy between Tian Yang and Shi Yu because they were more relaxed around each other since there was nothing queer happening between them. They were just two boys sleeping in a bed.

Compared to Wang and Tian who were restrained laying next to each other because they knew their feelings and what it would mean to touch each other.

Because even when they did touch in bed, it was nowhere near the entanglement of limbs that their roommates demonstrated. There was still a sense of self-control.

So because Wang and Tian know, they didn't touch each other like when Wang immediately pulled his hand from Tian even though he did need help walking. It was realizing his feelings, so he didn't want any touch to be publicly perceived as a gay touch.

Which is something that didn't happened between the other boys. So what if someone saw them touch? It wasn't gay. It was just a touch.

And we saw it again.

And again.

Knowing caused a barrier between the boys.

Because that barrier didn't exist with anyone else.

In the end, knowing was the problem.

BUT it’s about HIS FUCKING GLOW UP! The one character to go through the MOST character growth in any of Nakamura’s universes is Usami Akihiko. Akihiko now is a completely different character from Akihiko in the beginning. But OH MY TITTIES DOES THE GLOW UP HIT HIM HARDER THAN TAKAHIRO DID-

How Misaki the Glow-Up Fairy Cured Akihiko:

1. Healthy Weight Gain - Akihiko was underweight by a lot! He was extremely skinny to a point that his clothes looked too big. Misaki’s cooking and them eating most of their meals together helped Akihiko get to a healthy weight. His clothes actually fit now!!!

2. He Quit Smoking!!! - Anyone else remember when Akihiko used to pretty much chain-smoke??? I haven’t seen a cigarette touch his lips in so long that I fucking forgot.

3. Better Sleep Schedule - Akihiko always goes to bed when Misaki does and now gets up at the same time Misaki does or even earlier.

4. Cured Eyesight - Ummmm….do any of you remember when AKIHIKO HAD FUCKING GLASSES????? HE DOESN’T WEAR THEM ANYMORE.

5. Better Hair/Skin!! - Dude walking around with glass skin, no dark circles, and fuller hair!!

6. Better Mental Health/Improved Personality - Akihiko has become a more empathetic person and leaning more on optimism than pessimism unlike before. He also took the time to educate himself on Misaki’s points of view from commoner activities/traditions to taking into account Misaki’s feelings first.
