(Part 2) Palette -Arow-

Palette was created by Ink—not from just one source this time, but from all the virals: each emotion, each fragment of creation—bound together with Dream’s magic in form of an Arow.

After his creation, Palette was left behind—alone, without guidance no direction. That’s when Core Frisk found him and took him in, becoming his caretaker and, over time, a guiding presence in his life.

As Palette grows, something begins to stir deep inside him. A feeling—persistent and unshakable—a call. It isn’t just a sound, but a pull, echoing through his soul his magic bubbling up forming things he does not understand yet. Though he’s never known another place, he’s aware that this one was never truly home.

He wants everyone to stay happy. He needs to make them happy. But to do so would mean staying where he is—and he can’t. There’s something out there waiting for him. A presence that feels like family. And the call... it doesn’t just beckon it weeps

A cry for help.

Core Frisk, ever intuitive, begins to understand as well. This moment was always meant to come. Maybe they’ve been holding Palette too close, for too long. It’s time for their paths to part—because they know where Palette is meant to go, even if it breaks their heart.

do you think cross, after spending his life in a monochrome au, cried when he saw a sunset for the first time? when he saw the autumn leaves? the starry sky of outertale? the ocean? after living in xgaster’s sad beige mom au for thirty years of his life, imagine what vibrant, real color must’ve been like to see the first time. would he shy away from it, or would he seek out color at any and every opportunity, to make up for lost time? or would he ignore it, pretending it didn’t matter, because he didn’t want to think about how much he missed out on.

Like one where Killer is going through one of his episodes where his soul fluctuates all weird and fucked, and it leaves him to just lie in bed and decay.

It was never something he could control on his own- a crushing feeling he's always lived with that only had gotten worse after his transformafion into... Well, whatever the hell he is now.

Certainly not monster.

Not human either.

Something else entirely.

And wasn't that just something?

Cross is the first to check up on him because he wasn't there to kick down his door first thing in the morning, and he gets worried easily.

He sees Killer curled up on his side and stalls at the door, unsure of what to make of what he's seeing. His teammate, the ball of chaos that he is, is so eerily still and small. His shoulders are hunched in on himself and his eyes look emptier than they usually do. Gross puddles of black are dripping down from his mattress, and he can't help but hold back a face of disgust.

But, Cross knew a thing or two about awful no-good, very bad days. So, he would simply close the door behind him and quietly walk over to Killer's bed. He'd crawl on in with Killer (after quietly asking for permission, of course) and settle down with him. Maybe press his back to Killer's.

Remind him that he's there.

He's not alone.

No words would be exchanged- they both aren't the best when it comes to this sort of thing anyways. But that's okay. They have each other.

Horror would be second. Probably would check on them after they skipped lunch. He'd have both of their plates in hand when he nudges the door open, maybe would take a moment to look the situation over.

He'd quietly set the food down on Killer's night stand and then settle down beside the bed. He'd fold his arms on the side of the mattress and pat Killer's leg, asking quietly if he's alright.

Horror would wait patiently for Killer to find his words- find his bearings. Cross would listen to.

Dust would stumble upon them third, unnerved by the silence of the castle. He'd see everyone huddled together and slip in unnoticed.

When he settles down at the foot of the bed, though, he'd probably be pulled into the small cuddle pile on the bed.

Killer would probably be a little more responsive by then, and would have dragged Horror onto the bed too.

Nightmare would be last.

Although I'd suspect he was probably there the entire time: sitting in the shadows and watching from afar. Unsure if the best course of action would be to reach out and take care of it, or to let Killer sort through his feelings himself.

He wouldn't emerge until nightfall, when the whole crew would be fast asleep in their cuddle pile.

Then, and only then, would be reach out to quietly pet each of their heads.

October day 5&6

Part 3 Ink -Fathers Love

Ink is the Protector of Creation—he’s no Creator. He fixes broken things, gives advice, offers a helping hand. He gives ideas form, but it’s never truly his own creation.

Until that day PJ formed.

He’s not really paying attention to it; he’s in pure rage at the moment. Only after the fight does he realize what he made, and he is incredibly happy about it. He quickly tries again leaving Pj alone for just a moment —he snatches an arrow from Dream, and there it is: his creation his Palette.Oh, he would cherish them, never let them go—his two boys

....

As he returns with Palette, the other is gone. The small black skeleton is gone; all that is left are a few blue strings.

This makes him realize what he did… what danger those children are in.He’s already lost one, and even without the use of a blue vial, he feels the emptiness inside him grow.

He won’t lose this one too. He just created the legacy of his and Dream’s story in one being. Creation and Positivity are combined in one It’s not safe. Ink knows it only would be safe far away from Error, Nightmare and Himself.

It breaks his heart their paths had to part this early—truly, it breaks him. But a father does what’s best for his kids, and he knows… he is far from the Best
