The Noah not being the ones to destroy the world 7000 years prior came as a surprise. The possiblity of paralel worlds and timelines came up, but so far it looks like history repeating itself. It is unclear if the Pillar back then was the Earl, it can very well be that before Adam, there was another Millennium Earl who turned into the Pillar.
Also, I’m not the first to point this out but
I always assumed this was the Innocence talking to Allen as it claimed the Innocence saved the souls of the Akuma he had slayed and then claimed Allen needs salvation. Apocryphos coming after Allen, attempting to merge with him to “save” him almost solidified the belief that the Innocence, and perhaps even the Heart was talking to Allen.
But now it turns out that this Crucifix is actually what the Earl will become, and that 7000 years prior it destroyed everything in “The Flood”. And after The Flood, the Innocence broke into 109 pieces.
This strongly suggests that the Earl is very closely related to the Heart and might actually be its Accommodator.
