I mean, Mitsuya did say he used to look up to the Haitani's right in front of them. And Ran is confirmed to come across as very flirtatious whether he means to or not.

Hakkai on the other hand, just kind of learns to deal with the Haitani's for Mitsuya's sake. He's not the biggest fan of them, but if Ran makes his Taka-chan happy, then so be it. However if Ran ever hurts Mitsuya in any way, Hakkai is more than ready to throw hands. Same thing goes for Rindou if Mitsuya ever somehow hurt Ran.
