Ok but Camila’s talk with Luz in For the Future, and Eda’s talk with her in Separate Tides?
They’re pretty similar. In that both mothers are telling Luz
“I don’t give a shit that you messed up, I love you a lot”
Hell, the scenes have similar lighting!
But then again, Camila’s talk also parallels the talk at the end of O Titan Where Art Thou, in that it also ends with the beginning of Stringbean’s creation.
Some knot-knickered traditionalist shrieking in my inbox: YOU CAN'T JUST THROW SPELLS TOGETHER OUT OF NOTHING, YOU HAVE TO MAKE SURE YOUR COMPONENTS ARE CLEANSED AND PREPARED PROPERLY, YOU HAVE TO PREPARE A RITUAL SPACE AND TIME IT JUST RIGHT AND USE VERY SPECIFIC HERBS TO-....
Me: -emptying the contents of storebought teabags into a recycled jam jar- Fascinating.
Wanting to make a long form post about this as someone with DID, we will see if I ever have the energy to do so lol
Rewatching Cruella!!!!!
Estella definitely made Cruella as a split personality to protect herself. I’m loving it!
have these been done yet
Just a reminder (specifically to US folks) that the gods are not at fault for the election results. I feel this is important to say because while some of us were praying for different results, it doesn't mean that we were ignored, forgotten, or left on our own. The way I think about it is that the gods don't control the individual free wills of people; we have our own free will and make our own decisions. We can't blame them for the actions of others, for the free will of others. It sucks that things turned out the way that we did, but it's not the fault of the gods. Try to remember that.
Furthermore, they'll have the backs of their worshippers during the times ahead. They didn't completely abandon us or something. If they supported you before the election, they'll continue sharing that support with you. They're not going to leave you swimming in the middle of the ocean without a lifeboat.
Hera by Eduard Niczky (German painter, 1850-1919)
In ancient Greek religion, Hera is the goddess of marriage, women and family, and the protector of women during childbirth. In Greek mythology, she is queen of the twelve Olympians and Mount Olympus, sister and wife of Zeus, and daughter of the Titans Cronus and Rhea. ~ Wikipedia
I got a LOT of these from @afledglings-guideto-witchcraft when they answered an ask I sent in, that blog is a fantastic place for information whether you've been practicing a few days or a few years imo.
I've been posting a lot about trying to find information on this subject and now I've gotten a good list compiled in a google doc and figured I'd share it with y'all, feel free to add on your own notes or just any commentary you have or experiences you've had using certain ingredients. I'm using some of these to make a hex jar to try and help a friend out with a shitty abusive household, which I might post more about if y'all would be interested in it, or if I just feel up to it.

Don't ever let anyone tell you you are a bad person or you're going to get hurt if you practice baneful magic at all no matter what. The threefold law is a rule that Wiccans follow, no one else is obligated to believe in it, I respect people who believe in it and they should respect people who don't. Always make sure to judge a situation very carefully and use this magic appropriately.
And, very very important, research on how to protect yourself from a spell backfiring (because you can get hurt), make sure that your intention is very focused on your specific target(s), and, if you're doing something similar to what I'm doing, do something (protection jars, spells, etc) to protect other people around this person or people from the effects of the jinx, hex, or curse. Oh and if you're casting a spell on someone else who practices witchcraft, make sure you know the signs if they deflect the spell back onto you and try and do what you can to prevent that from happening.
small things you can add to your worship/work with lady hestia
try to look through your wardrobe pretty often, take out the pieces you don't love, free up the space for things that actually make you feel good, cozy & comfortable
protect your hair when outside, i know when talking about lady hestia it's usually about veiling and covering, but veiling is also a protection for you hair, from wind & sun damage, if not veiling, protective hairstyles,
don't do your hair in a bad mood, doing your hair can be stressful even without additional factors, taking care of yourself is a necessity, but it can be a pleasant necessity
if you find yourself being bored, instead of being on your phone, try to find a comfortable position, with you back & neck supported, and simply relax, let yourself be bored, cause most of the time it's not boredom, you're just overwhelmed,
keep a journal dedicated for her, digital or physical, make moodboards, write prayers and poetry, write your questions and write about your day
think of your space as yours, don't think of the future tenants. decorate, furnish, put this painting on the wall, both you and lady hestia want this place to be yours
have more dimmed, warm lights around you, they are far more relaxing. at night they ease you for sleep, and in the morning they help you ease in the day, also they feel far more cozy than overhead lights
dedicate some space on your desk to her, even if it's going to be just a candle, she is here to remind you about rest and ease your work
find a special nook in your space that will be dedicated to your time with lady hestia, somewhere you can sit and have a nice warm cup of tea, where you can have a snack while watching a cozy movie, where you can comfortably lounge
We may have no way of knowing your name, but we do know you. We know you existed.
We may have no way of knowing what purpose you served in your pantheon, but we appreciate the work that you did, and the work you continue to do.
You may be older than what we think of as the first civilizations, you may be older than evolution, but thank you for being with our ancestors.
Thank you for holding their hands, teaching them how to hunt, which plants were edible, how to walk, how to develop.
It's because of you that humanity exists in the way we know today.
I'm sorry you've been lost to time.
