Morning is so beautiful

Β The mount of Rhaena Targaryen, the daughter of Daemon Targaryen and Laena Velaryon, as well as the younger twin sister to Baela Targaryen (who had lived with their grandmother as her ward until the death of King Viserys). The two were an inseparable pair. Much like each other, they brought a lot of happiness to Kingβs Landing after the Dance of the Dragons had ended.Β
Β Hatched during the Dance of the Dragons, Morning was one of the eggs laid by Syrax. Too young to ride during the war, she was one of the only four dragons to survive the Dance and the only one still in control of a Targaryen.Β
Β Morningβs appearance was a pale pink with black horns, and had a structure somewhat similar to Syrax with a longer snout. Very unique and beautiful, her name is somewhat of an oxymoron. Morning, the dawn, the beginning, however, she was the last true dragon.Β

I have a Marauders fancast opinion that may or may not rustle some jimmies: now donβt get me wrong, Andrew Garfield as Remus, Aaron Taylor Johnson as James, Evan Peters asβ¦Evan etc are good fancasts on their own. Sofia Bryant as Mary, Beabadoobee as Marlene, Filah Lah Lah as Dorcas etc. are also very good fancasts on their own, but am I the only one who finds it kind of weird when theyβre all part of the same fancast? for example the fandom canβt be like βoh Karen Gillan/Sophie Skelton are too old to play Lily anymore, gotta find a younger oneβ but somehow at the same time still be fine with currently 35-45 year old men.
I definitely do think that's weird, I don't understand why people have the need to hate on others for their fancast aside from when it's problematic. For example, Dane Dehaan and Jamie Bell as Peter. You can't excuse the fact that Peter is CANONICALLY PLUS SIZE! Due to a headcanon that "Peter only got fat because of the stress of being Voldemort's mole", or because of the "stress of the war" when he was described as plump in his youth.
As for the age differences it's really not that weird if you really think about it. Most often we see fancasts in edits, and in those edits they usually us scenes of Aaron Taylor Johnson in Nowhere Boy, and Ben Barnes as Dorian Gray, and Andrew Garfield in The Amazing Spiderman. During the times those films came out ATJ was 18, Ben Barnes was 28, and Andrew Garfield was 29.
Sofia Bryant is 23, so is Beatrice Laus (Beabadoobee), and Filah Lah Lah is 24. So in the grand scheme of all these fancasts the age difference isn't really that big. The largest difference is between ATJ and Andrew Garfield and that's only 11 years.
So I definitely do understand where you're coming from but if you take into account when they're being fancast it really makes so much more sense.
Now in many fanfics heβs the betrayer. The one who killed Jily in a car crash or fucked over his friends online, or just messed with the others lives.
Letβs take a moment to consider that Peter was in a war. As a child. He was 21 when he made this decision.
This is a Peter who grew up with James and got replaced in a day by Sirius. A Peter whose own parents and James and Sirius all implied that he was below them, until he started to copy them so they accept him.Β
This is a Peter who watched James and Sirius be cruel and mean and awful to anyone who crossed their path that wasnβt exactly like them.Β
This is a Peter who got put in Gryffindor by the hat as a hope that the courageous people there would bring out the best in him, and inspire the good.
This is a Peter who was taught to be mean and petty and hate anyone who disagreed with them by those very same Gryffindors.Β
A Peter who watched as James and Sirius pretended to accept Remus, but never truly did. A Peter who hated the way James acted around Lily, who hated Siriusβ jealously, who hated how Remus didnβt care enough to stop them.
A Peter who was taught he was luckily for his friends. That he had to be perfect or everyone would leave. Despite being kind to them all, he only ever felt conditional love.
A Peter who grew and resented and then was hit with a final blow. He was made secret keeper. Because no one would ever think Jily would trust their barely friend Peter with this. The person James fucking grew up with would never ever be made their secret keeper.Β
And then they suspected Remus. The boy who punched when he was hurt and couldnβt kill a bug and let the girls cry on his shoulder despite not understanding how they felt. A Remus who James and Sirius never fully accepted as a werewolf, not truly, because if they did, the wouldnβt have suspected him as the mole. The Remus that Peter spent all those times he was left out with. Because those two understood that feeling.
A Peter who wasnβt with Remus during the war because Remus was a werewolf. Who went on order missions and spent his other time alone. Who couldnβt bare to be around anyone after they started doubting him.
A Peter who didnβt spend as much time around baby Harry, because James forgot to invite him. A Peter who Lily never liked because she never tried to see him for him. A Peter who didnβt understand what Voldemort was trying to do, but felt the resent and pain and anguish from being alone during the hardest times of the war.Β
A Peter who didnβt see the difference between a blood traitor cursing awful scars onto a pureblood for their beliefs, opposed to a pureblood cursing pain onto a blood traitor for their beliefs. βWhy is it ok for us to attack them, but not for them to attack us?β
Who gave in to the temptation to not be in danger and to take out all the long lasting anguish he felt. Who didnβt think it through.
A Peter who probably never meant to frame Sirius. Never meant to leave Remus alone. A Peter who saw what he did and panicked. Became the thing heβd first become to help a friend. A friend who heβd just left alone.
A Peter who then had to spend 12 years as a rat. Remembering that this is always what he was supposed to be, this is his animagus form after all. Remembering every βwormtailβ joke and every mocking laugh behind his back and then seeing Jamesβ dead face over and over.
This Peter went too far to come back. This Peter fell all the way into Voldemorts hands because he was a bad person now and he hated himself for it. A Peter who deep inside⦠wanted Sirius and Remus to kill him that day. Who looked into his friends eyes and saw 12 years of Azkaban and 12 years of loneliness.
A Peter who died to his own hand⦠because truly he died the second he chose to join Voldemorts army, he did this all to himself.
Because it is his fault for betraying them. And then lying for 12 years. For handing a death certificate to a child.
But it isnβt his fault for breaking. For growing up entirely alone. For everyone who hated him before they knew him. Who hated his facade that he only invented to be liked.Β
For only ever receiving conditional love.
And in a world without war I wholeheartedly feel Peter Pettigrew wouldnβt be the bitch who outed Sirius to his mother, or the guy who caved to the University bully conveniently named Tom Riddle.
This was a war. This was loneliness.Β
(Oh and side note: God forbid JKR ever writing a chubby character as a good fucking person.)
I donβt particularly like canon Peter. I donβt like the decisions he made or the way he didnβt stand up for himself.
But if weβre going to say Sirius and James included him in everything. If weβre going to idealise their world or write a modern au. Peter fucking Pettigrew HAS to at least be insanely screwed over and isolated for him to betray his friend.Β
BECAUSE HE WASNβT WEAK!Β He was never fucking weak. He never caved in fear. He caved in deep fucking hatred. He caved in conditional love and second place trophies and emotional intelligence that was never understood. He wasnβt weak.
He was broken.Β

A look into the differences between Sirius and Regulus Black
For as long as Regulus could remember him and Sirius were different. I mean sure they shared dark curls, and pale skin, and delicately placed freckles. Sure they even shared the same last name, the same DNA, but that was where the similarities stopped.
Regulus had always been favored by his father and Sirius by their mother. He could tell in the way that their mother picked them up but only doted on Sirius. He had her attention while Regulus was just hanging there in her arms. He supposed it was because they were alike, almost carbon copies of each other. Grey eyes, and fiery tempers, and abrasive personalities. If the gods had placed something different between Sirius' legs he would have said Sirius was his mother reborn. Regulus thinks that's why he'd clinged to Sirius so hard.
Sirius was their mother and Regulus was his father. Harsh words, fierce love, and burning passion. A stark contrast to cold glares, distant declarations of affection, and deafening silence. Regulus spent most of his time with his father, closely observing and learning his ways. Sirius spent most of his time at home in his room, he didn't have to observe, or watch, or learn the ways of their mother. He was her and she was him. That was why she favored him, he decided. It hurt less that way.
Sirius always felt hot, wearing as little clothing as he could get away with. Regulus on the other hand was always cold, it'd truly be a treasure to see his delicate frame in anything other than a shirt that went from his shoulders to his wrists. He liked it that way, warm, and safe. Much unlike his environment.
Cats and dogs they were, him and his brother. At least that's what people said. Though Sirius had no clue how true that was, Regulus supposed he never would. Regulus was quiet, observant, independent, and secretive. A cat. Whereas Sirius was loud, friendly, overly social, and ever reliant on his 'pack'. A dog. They were similar, however, in the darkness of the fur their animagi adorned. They shared that at least.
But perhaps the most evident difference between them was the houses they were separated into. Regulus loved his brother he did, but not the same way he did before he was sorted into Slytherin. Regulus could see it, the look in Sirius' eyes when the dusty old hat shouted "Slytherin!". Whatever piece of his brother Regulus had, the piece that no one else did, was lost to him now and Regulus was sure he could never get it back. He couldn't love Sirius the way he did before, because Sirius did not love him the way he did before. "Just like the rest of us you are Reggie, just like the rest of us." Sirius said with a hand on his shoulder as he walked to sit at Slytherin table.
Regulus cried that night, why wasn't he allowed in Gryffindor, like his brother? He wished he was. Because he wasn't, he'd disappointed Sirius, something he'd never wanted to do, and by the looks of it, he could never make up for it. So Regulus wiped his tears and he decided he'd make his parents proud instead. If Sirius couldn't do right certainly he could. It was then he displayed his first Slytherin trait, ambition. From then on Sirius was his rival, Regulus made the right choice he though, as Sirius had completely pulled away from him by the time his first year was over.
