Lizards and Looks

Description: Arthur has a crush on the lizard specialist at his local zoo. He's a bit obvious about it.

Arthur had spent too many Sundays at the zoo. It had come to the point he was on a first name basis with the staff. He would dilly dally around the lions and zebras before beelining to his favourite exhibition.

Everyone knew why he was there. It was no secret, Arthur Frederick was in love with Y/n L/n. He thought he was so slick. The only thing that didn't know about his feelings?

The lizards.

"And that's why the bearded dragon is called a dragon!" Y/n explained to the crowd of kids, all letting out amazed gasps. Off to the side stood Arthur, with a similarly big smile.

He's heard every one of her lectures and knew them all by heart. His personal favourite was on the bearded dragons. They all were named after members of the Scooby Doo Gang.

Once Y/n put the Lizard named Daphne back in her cage the kids all dispersed leaving her with the grinning man.

"Wow, you knocked that out of the park" he exclaims "I mean, this is definitely top 10 times you've done that presentation" he jokes, her laughing with him

"Yeah? I'm glad you think so, you're basically my number one fan at this point" she teases. Not only had she picked up on the fact that Arthur had a crush on her, she felt the same way about him.

"I'm starting a Y/n fan club as we speak" he leans back, against the wall. Him wearing a cheeky smile.

"I'll make sure to let my mom know to subscribe" she says rolling her eyes "Where are you supposed to be right now?"

"What do you mean? I don't have anything going on" he says confused. Having control on his schedule made spending time with Y/n easy.

"What about later? Have Any plans then?" She asked, as she leaned against the same wall next to him. The two facing the reptile hall, as happy children wander about.

"Nope, I almost never film on Sundays, they're my relax day" he explains. "Again, why?"

The cogs in his brain turning as he tried to figure out what she was getting at. He was so clueless to the small looks she was giving him or how her body was slightly shaking.

"Well, I was wondering what time you are going to pick me up" she says pushing off the wall "maybe 6?" She suggests, finally looking over to the man.

Arthur stood with his jaw dropped and cheeks red. You couldn't help but giggle at the sight.

"Uh-" he gulps "Yeah! Six o'clock. Could I have your number?" She nods, slipping him her phone number written on a dinosaur shaped post it note. Giving him a wave she headed to the main office where she was greeted by four coworkers.

"Y/N!" They all exclaimed loudly, nearly knocking the woman off her feet. The five animal nerds all excited about her boldness in asking out the man.

"I can't believe I did it! I'm just glad I didn't do it with Lizard shit on my hands" she admitted, still buzzing from the news of date night.

Chess Queen Part One

Description: Arthur needed a little extra encouragement from Italian Bach to talk to his YouTube crush.

Spending the day on a rainy football field was far from what Y/n thought she would be doing right about now. Not only had it been much too early but she was also sure she'd be soaked by the time filming was over.

Y/n L/n, the newest member of the UK Youtuber World was not alike the others. Rather than pub crawls and football matches. She was known for streaming playing board games or yapping to thousands of fans. Despite being new, she was popular.

"Oh my-!" Y/n heard, her head snapping to see who had been yelling. There she saw Italian Bach, or Isaac as she been told to call him stood with a man's hand slapped across his mouth.

The two stared at eachother, her bringing up a hand to wave, only for the man to take the hand off and jog up to you, leaving a baffled man standing still.

"You're Y/n right!?" She nodded and he continued "Oh my god, your literal biggest fan is my best mate, I'll go grab him"

He ran back over, hauling with him the mam who slapped him. As he got closer you recognised him as Arthurtv, or just Arthur.

"Its Isaac and Arthur right?" She asked once they were close enough. Arthur going bright pink when she pointed at him.

"Yeah, Arthur here is again your biggest fan. He had heart eyes when you played chess the other day" he explained as his friend died next to him

"Ah, so you saw me mercilessly destroy them all" she joked, in actuality she had done decent, able to win every game. She was surprised when he answered

"You did really good!! Probably better than me," He announced. His voice a little louder than he was wanting. Isaac stood next to him, watching on like a proud dad "I play a lot of chess" he admits quieter.

"We will have to play together some time" she smiled, something that made the man short circuit. His ears going pink as he responded meekly.

"Yeah! Uhm..please" He peeped out. You were going to get his contact information when KSI called over the group to start the video.

After filming, the group all sat under a tent as the rain beat down around them. Looking up at the clouds Y/n let out a deep sigh, catching the attention of Arthur.

He was embarrassed to admit it but his eyes never left her. She had even caught him a few times.

"Are you okay?" He asked, catching her sights. She turned to him, her biting her lip

"Yeah, I'm just sort of dreading walking to the train station" she confesses, Isaac popping out of nowhere

"You're out on Berry right?" She nods "well Arthur here lives like 2 blocks away. Why don't you catch a ride with him?"

He claps his hand on Arthur's back, who nods eagerly.

"Would that really be okay? I don't want to put you out" Arthur shakes his head and hands.

"No!! It'd be no trouble at all" Arthur and you start walking out to his car, the whole time you have slightly awkward small talk.

Arthur had so many things he wanted to say to him but didn't know how.

"So, you film alot" she asks "Your film schedule is like double mine" she jokes.

"What can I say? The camera loves me" he wiggles his eyebrows. The two of you sharing a laugh.

As the buildings pass, the awkwardness passed with them. Pulling up to Y/ns address she didn't want the conversation to end. Inviting him in the two ordered dinner and spent the entire night chatting.

It felt calming and fluid, talking to Arthur she felt like herself.

"I should probably get going, George has been spamming me about not being home yet" you giggle and agree.

"I suppose I'll let you go. Can I see you again sometime?" He stutters

"I would be honoured to see you again, I'm holding you to that chess offer"

And so, the two split up. Once alone they both unaware the other was also freaking out.

One thing was for sure, they both had to practice playing chess for when they did play together. Both were determined to win.

Stream interrupted - Chrismd

Chris was trying—really trying—to focus.

The bed creaked under him in protest, the sheets warm and tangled, Y/N’s leg slipping over his hip as she shifted closer, mouth brushing just beneath his ear. The kiss was soft, slow, a question asked without words—one that Chris very much wanted to answer.

Her fingers skimmed up beneath his shirt, nails dragging lightly down his back. He let out a low breath, eyes fluttering shut as she kissed down the column of his throat.

And then—

“NO WAY—chat, did you see that? Man’s moving like his controller’s got a five-second delay. Actual disgrace.”

Chris’s head hit the pillow with a frustrated thud.

Y/N paused, lifting her head with a stifled laugh. “Is he playing GTA again?”

Chris groaned. “He’s got the entire flat sounding like a Twitch convention. I’m literally being heckled through the wall.”

“Could be worse,” she teased, grinning against his jaw. “He could’ve said your name.”

Another yell echoed through the wall.

“I SWEAR if you clip that—Chris is gonna get demonetised just from proximity!”

Chris sat up with a muttered curse. “That’s it. I’m ending this man’s career.”

Y/N blinked, half-laughing. “Babe, you’re literally—wait—Chris—”

But he was already halfway across the flat, joggers hanging low on his hips, no shirt, barefoot stomping down the hall like a man possessed. He didn’t knock. He didn’t hesitate.

He kicked George’s door open.

George spun in his chair like he’d been caught watching something illegal. “Jesus Christ—what are you—”

Chris didn’t answer. He walked straight over, leaned down, and with zero hesitation—click—yanked the plug from George’s streaming setup. The entire rig went dark.

Chat died mid-‘LMAOOOO’.

George blinked. “Did you just… kill my stream?”

Chris was already halfway out the door. “I’m trying to have sex, George. Kindly shut the fuck up.”

Back in the bedroom, Y/N was laughing so hard she’d rolled onto her stomach, face buried in a pillow.

Chris shut the door behind him and crossed back to the bed, all mock irritation and flushed cheeks. “Right. Where were we?”

She grinned, grabbing him by the waistband and dragging him back down into the sheets. “You were trying to focus.”

This time, there were no interruptions.

Ten minutes later, a tweet appeared on George’s feed:

Not five minutes after that, Chris replied:

I find somewhere comfortable to write usually with a blanket and put on my headphones. I either listen to shitty garage band type or TV girl.

Then I find the list of prompts in my notes app and I write there. I prefer writing on my laptop but it's more convenient to type on my phone right now.

How old were you when you wrote your first fic and who was it about?

When I was probably 7 I wrote an alternate version of The Nightmare before Christmas where instead of Jack Skellington going through the Christmas door, two little kids went through all the other doors.

Now look at me. Writing about hot British men who drink and play soccer.
