does anybody else feel like the problem with current batman writers is that they're writing male power fantasies and they have no concept of who they're writing for? because idk anybody who wants to read about bruce being an abusive dad, it's depressing. it's sad. it's NOT batman. it's something completely different from the batman i remember. like they're not writing a hero, they're writing a narcissist with control issues who has wrapped himself in the cloak of being a good person. and i cant look at a man whose supposed to be a father and a mentor, reguarly choosing to abandon his kids, dump his responsibilities on the one kid who wants nothing more than to make his own choices, and beating "morals" into one....it's all wrong. you cant be a good person, a HERO, and consistently choose inflicting long lasting physical, mental, and emotional scars on people you call family.
dear lord when i get to heaven please let me bring my man (jason todd)
tell them

Okay, let’s count the ways Act 3 drummed home Silco’s dedication to Jinx (in a really twisted way).
1.) Doesn’t take it personally when Jinx tortured him a little
2.) Has to be drugged by Singed because even Singed knows Silco could never watch Singed do what is necessary to Jinx
3.) Reaction of horror when he sees injured Jinx
4.) Stares down Vi on the bridge as he carried Jinx off
5.) Desperate to save Jinx’s life
6.) Willing to listen to and take actual useful advice from Sevika to give Jinx some space/makes an attempt to trust his relationship with Jinx
7.) Was ready to turn himself in to jail in Jinx’s place when he makes a deal with Jayce
8.) Has faith that Jinx is strong enough to survive the procedure.
9.) Threatens Singed with a knife when he wakes up and doesn’t know what happened to Jinx
10.) Finally starts to have more sympathy for Vander, the man he hates because of how he feels about Jinx vis a vis how Vander felt about his daughters
11.) Fiercely sides with Jinx’s new identity, the one that Jinx sends up deciding it the real her/is more the real her
12.) Credibly says that he would have turned down Jayce’s proposal because he would never turn her over
13.) Struggles desperately to free himself and shoots at VI imo arguably because yes he is also “competing” with Vi, but also because it appears Vi’s words are hurting Jinx
14.) His words are the ones that echo with her as she does her first big dramatic deed as Jinx (imo kind of like Vander’s “You have a good heart” ended up informing Vi’s journey, Silco’s “We’ll show them all” is that for Jinx’s journey)
15.) Oh right USING HIS DYING WORDS TO COMFORT THE PERSON WHO KILLED HIM
BTW, it’s one of those irony things that at least one of the things Jinx accused him of, that he knew all along that Vi was alive wasn’t true. He really wasn’t lying to her about that, Marcus had told him that Vi was dead. However, the other part of Jinx’s complaint that he tried to keep Vi and Jinx apart after he found out about Vi being alive is still true.
(note just because he really did love her in his own value system doesn’t change that he is still a pretty unhealthy individual about himself, ie clearly has deep insecurities about Jinx leaving him or getting hurt and very quickly falls back on fanning her insecurities)
The kids (Duke, Damian and Dick) are yelling in the other room

Funniest thing about Cass becoming the next Batman is if she also has to play up the frivolous multi-millionaire act.
Debutante Cass needing to pretend to be the lucky orphan picked up by Bruce Wayne in some little village in some East Asian country no white person has ever heard of nor cared about.
Cass playing the part of the spoiled, air-headed heiress, which turns out to be shockingly easy because rich people clutch their pearls when she stirs her coffee with the dessert spoon. She's a little disappointed because she watched Legally Blonde and Clueless like 50 times each to memorize and prepare lines.
Cassandra Wayne, wild heiress going to drug-filled parties (to trace the stuff back to the supplier) and hiring sex workers (to investigate whether or not they're human trafficking victims).
Cass attending charity events for photo ops with the most awkward forced smile you can imagine.
“We’ll be okay.”
IT’S HERE after a month of scraggly work and a lot of love - this angsty fancomic is done! It isn’t perfect, but it’s mine and I love it. Thank you for the support everyone, I hope you like it too! :’)
dick, giving the family a pep talk: everything you lose is a step you take
the family, nodding in agreement:
jason:
jason: hang on. wait a sec. did you just... quote taylor swift?
dick: ......what? no. no.
jason: no. no, you definitely did. that's taylor swift.
dick: it's not–... i didn't–
barbara: how do you know enough taylor swift to be able to quote her in your speeches?
dick, panicking: *points at jason* well how does he know enough taylor swift to be able to notice that i'm quoting taylor swift?
jason, on his way out: my lawyers will be in contact
tim, quietly: he doesn't even have a lawyer
