A lot of life is a struggle. We just don’t see it all the time because our eyes are always trained to look for “happy things” but life is always a struggle with beautiful moments in between. And most of those beautiful moments, at the end of the day, are actually very simple.

something i'm sorely going to miss since i don't think we're getting much of it in the show are the chill kanej scenes. like we all know of the window scene, which i believe they can still find a way to put into the show. but combining the crows pre-soc with tgt makes sure that there's always action and something happening. but the kanej scenes that we know of in pre-soc canon were always the very chill ones. just kaz and inej doing surveillance work together on rooftops on their bellies side by side. kaz and inej staying up late at night together doing jobs. kaz doing his paperwork in his office while inej sits by his windowsill feeding the crows that meandered there. these scenes are honestly a huge part of their relationship and i really hope we get to see that. in the show, they made kaz, jesper, and inej to be this kind of trio. like they always do their jobs and heists together. when really, kaz and inej were more partners, and jesper was their closest friend. and i do hope in the show, we return back to these dynamics in the books, and hopefully the crows find some rest, which is unlikely, because i really really want to see those scenes

Nailing the beginning of a story can be a challenging task for authors. Right off the bat, you need to introduce the characters, hint at their fears and dreams, and set them on a journey that, hopefully, readers will care to follow. Since the opening often determines how the reader will get on with the rest of the story, how do you write a good one? (more…) “”
