Can I be honest? I hate that any post where it's purely platonic is labeled aroace. It completely removes the ability for friendship to happen. It gives me the same feeling as people who say that "boys and girls can't be friends". Acting as though deep platonic relationships can only be reached by being aroace removes the importance for everyone to have those deep platonic relationships and it actually encourages the narrative that romance is a must.
Enemies to "I accidentally came across you while you were vulnerable and scared and I'm not a total asshole so I tried to help you" to "accidental mutual uncovering of softer sides and vulnerabilities" to "I can't be mean to you anymore, not out of pity but because it would feel weird betraying that brief truce we had" to "Fine I'll make an effort to be nice to you now I guess" to "actually now that we're not actively hating each other you're not so bad I guess" to "i think we're friends but I'm not going to say that because I'm afraid you're not gonna feel the same way" to "oh you also think we're friends? Great" to lovers
Well. I wrote the Bill and Penni deal after postponing writing it for the past few days.
I've posted it on my ao3. Go and read it:

I saw your reblog and could not get that idea out of my head. Good job, I'm in a silly little drawing mood that probably won't last long.
I'm terrible at drawing Ford, but I'm otherwise happy with this image.
It is a spinny chair they're sitting on.
Penni wears almost exclusively puffy princess dresses. Ford thinks they're impractical, but Nimirylov insists upon her wearing them.
Ford can't wear his glasses around Penni because she will steal and probably break them. That is a problem because fish opticians don't exist.
Anyway, that's why Ford is squinting. He can barely see what he's writing but it's worth it because he's spending time with his daughter.
Ford started a new journal in the Washed Away au. He made it blue to;
1. Make it distinct from the original journals which he wants to separate himself from now.
2. Because blue is the colour of his husbands hair and he's secretly a sap.
Anyway, the tiny handprint in the middle is Penni's. Ford had been writing in his journal when she had been painting, and he ended up with a new decoration for the cover of his journal.
This is not going to happen in the Washed Away au, but I might do a crack oneshot of it at some point. Just an au of the au, y'know?
I can't stop imagining if Ford was pregnant again when he came out the portal. Like, he doesn't know, Nimirylov doesn't know, nobody knows. He's just slowly acting more strange as the timeline of the show goes on.
To follow on from my last post, Nimirylov as promised.
Unless being an alien fish thing counts, in which case, still no, because it's not a secret.
I've said before that Nimirylov has the combined vibes of Odysseus and Penelope so, yeah.
No, he's a prince. He's well behaved, and even if he wasn't, he probably wouldn't be jailed.
Yes. No questions asked. 100%.
Yeah, this makes sense.
No... he has a husband.
No... he works with politics.
I can see this, kind of.
Sure. He got hit by the alien fish equivalent of a bus. Told no one though.
Need this to happen. It's just too perfect.
Okay now that Stan is tumblr sexyman, we obviously need to let Eda win the sexywoman award and make them the sexycouple
Oh my gods, amazing, I love it. I also did quite a lot of infodumping to a friend before posting to tumblr.
I love the idea of Ford having zero common sense though to the point that he brings a child through the multiverse with him. Willingly. It's in character though.
Also, the daughter being called Robin feels so ironic to me. Like, a half cat alien being named after a type of bird? Please tell me that irony was intentional.
I think it’s absolutely hilarious that we both managed to independently come up with the idea of “Ford needs an alien spouse and a half alien daughter”. Like get that monsterfucker an alien wife/husband and make sure he can be the girl dad we always knew he could be. Superb.
I just scrolled all the way back to 2018 on your account and I'm disappointed to realise this is not something you've posted. Presumably.
I do agree though that Ford gives off girl dad energy in an unexplainable way. He's so babygirl that he needs an actual baby girl.
He also deserves to just have an alien spouse. Reward the monsterfuckers for once, y'know?
I asked my friend @uniquechaosdetective to give me some things to ramble about for my Washed Away au and I am thankful to say, she delivered!
I'm noticing now that she hasn't fully listened to what I've said in the past, aka, she ignored what she didn't like. I'm onto you. Anyway, I'll take this one question at a time. Thank you.
Ford's child, Penni, is about 13. Probably 13 and a half, to be specific. I wanted her to be around the same age as the mystery twins but not the exact same age.
Ford gave birth. I've told you this already, and you looked at me with disgust! I've also made a post about it already here now, but I still thought I'd address it. Ford just looks like the type of man to accidentally get pregnant, and I won't budge on that opinion.
How it works is a more complicated question. I'm guessing it's basically just a c-section, but I did toy around a bit with the idea of Ford basically throwing up the child. Y'know, just got to add some more horror in there. Either way, Ford can't remember it!
They get along very well as a family. Ford's husband, Nimirylov, is very charismatic, as that comes with being a prince, and Penni is a mix of the two. I imagine that she's just as intelligent as Ford, if not more, but completely uninterested in science. She could stand there and rant about politics to either of her parents for hours, though.
Ford does not often talk about his family when he gets pulled back through the portal. After all, he sees himself as dead to them because he's been taken away from them rather than the other way around. He's mourning his family whilst also thinking of himself as dead at the same time even if he knows that he's alive.
He's very torn with Dipper and Mabel. Every interaction with them just reminds him of what he's lost with his own child, and it hurts him in the most enticing way. He doesn't want to replace his daughter, but at the same time, he's a #dad here, and these children are technically his family, too. Basically, he loves spending time with them, but it really hurts, and he feels guilty about it afterwards.
As I said, he doesn't talk about his family often, but when he does open up about them, he does it separately to each one. He tells Mabel everything about his husband and the stages of their relationship. So she reacts with excitement because "it's such a cute love story" or she'd say something similar. Alternatively, he'd make a small offhand mention about having a family that he'd love to return to but is unable to because of the dangers of the portal to Dipper when he shows him the rift. Finally, Stan is the only one that Ford tells about his child. That's what my entire last post was about, though, and this paragraph is getting long so I'm not saying anymore about Stan.
Stanley would instantly be on alert because this was the last thing he'd been expecting. Scratch that, this had never even been something he'd ever imagined. Not only was this the last place he'd want to reunite with his twin, but clearly, Ford isn't in any state to be reuniting right now.
Ford is in that much of a state of intoxication that Stan can't help but wonder if this is the first time he's ever gotten drunk. Not to mention, he'd never quite pictured Ford getting drunk before, it always seemed too out of character for how nerdy he was.
Stan doesn't know what the people in charge are expecting from him. Obviously, they didn't tell him anything about who he was supposed to sort out other than a basic description, but they would've been able to tell the similarities. They mustn't have wanted him to try and back out before doing it if he'd known that who it was was clearly related to him. Had they then hoped that if he got this far he would be unable to back out?
Well fuck that. Stan doesn't play by the rules, and he's not going to start now. Not when his twin is dangerously drunk and clearly needs to be taken out of here.
So, all he has to do now is get Ford out of here safely. Whether Ford wants to or not. Which seems to be a very high possibility with the way he's drunkenly staring at another slot machine.
Have an idea for a fic that I’m definitely not going to write.
essentially, ford hits a roadblock in his research, but doesn’t summon Bill. He’s just burned out from all that gifted kid syndrome, trying to power through it. His mother recommended he take a break, and the perfect opportunity for that arrived when Fiddleford calls, asking Ford to be his Best Man, and inviting him to his bachelor party.
in Vegas.
so Ford reluctantly goes with Fiddleford and two of his other friends to the city of sin, and Ford completely DESTROYS the casinos. He’s counting cards, he’s worked out the algorithm for when the slot machines hit a jackpot, and he gets SUPER drunk. Ford is having the time of his life cus he gets to use maths to flex on people. And he’s NOT SUBTLE.
so at the end of the night, the casino take Ford out back, and send a goon to beat him up.
and you’ll never guess who the goon is!
so now Stan and Ford have to work together and try to escape the gangs and crime lords that run 1970s Las Vegas.
I call it Gifted Kid Syndrome.
again, not doing anything with it, feel free to do anything with the idea, up to and including wiping your butt with it. Just like, tag me or whatever.
I think I've already mentioned on here (I keep forgetting what I've posted versus what I've just told my friend), that a lot of what happens in canon can't happen in the Washed Away au because of Ford being more responsible. However, that doesn't mean Ford is entirely responsible and so, a minor spoiler to show you all.
Ford still gives Mabel a crossbow in The Last Mabelcorn. Just, instead of saying,
"It's okay to give children weapons, right?" He says,
"You're old enough to have been trained to use weapons, right?"
Now, this is because he and Nimirylov trained Penni on how to use weapons. Ford doesn't realise that's not normal, even for Nimirylov's dimension, let alone in his.
Maybe I just posted the last one at a bad time or something, I don't know, but I genuinely have nothing to do for pretty much the whole next week.
So please, ask me any questions you have about the Washed Away au. Anything at all, and I will answer it to the best of my ability. I'm kind of frozen at the moment because I have so many ideas in my mind that I just don't know how or which ones to get out.
Genuinely, though, any questions will be seriously appreciated. I really struggle with getting my thoughts out into words effectively, so having direction really helps me. Then, in turn, I'm feeling better in general because my thoughts aren't constantly plagued by this au.
Currently obsessed with Gravity Falls. Cooking up my own AU for it :> Washed Away au.
