I was just about to sleep but then I got an idea for a Stanley Parable theory.

Ok here me out: the narrator is Stanley

The “Narrator” is a man who works in an office pushing buttons, and uses Stanley as a self insert of sorts (maybe that just is him) to go on these adventures in his maladaptive daydreams.

If this sounds far fetched, the exact thing has been done before in another game which I don’t want to spoil but I will give the name of if asked.

If this is the case, maybe the narrator has intrusive thoughts/trouble controlling his thoughts; this would explain endings where the narrator doesn’t want anything to happen but Stanley disobeys anyway (Zending, Skip button, etc.)

Like I said before, I was just about to sleep so I’m a bit tired. I just think it’s a neat concept.

There’s this evil vending machine in my school cafeteria. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, but every time I use it I order nacho cheese Doritos from spot 307. And no matter what, it never gives me the Doritos from 307, always from 201 or 205 or 211. It’s tearing my life apart. Please vending machine, why won’t it give me the chips from 307!? It’s the same flavor and everything but please I just want my 307 chips please.
