aww this is one of my favourite episodes of 3′s era.. jo’s leaving had been teased time and time again, whenever someone fancied her and asked her to stay with them, she’d regrettably say “no” bc she still had so much to see with the doctor and couldn’t possibly leave her planet but here, she finally finds a reason to stick around and it’s so lovely to watch. i still miss her terribly though :(

ten minutes into jo grants last episode and im already tearing up!!! it’s so clear that she’s pulling away from the doctor to seek out her own passions and he’s so proud of her but also!!! he doesn’t want her to!!! he’s not ready to lose her!!!

this feels so much more like the modern companion send offs I’m used to, the way it’s eased into, the way you can see the companions character arc coming to its close, the way the doctor helps assuage the audiences sadness and resistance to change by expressing the same feelings himself :,)

Someone on my dash just referred to the Doctor as “Doctor Who” and the Master as “Master Who” I’m fucking losing it.

Thought about Nyssa seeing her planet again and feeling overwhelmed with grief for what is to come

Besties I refuse to call david tennant the 14th doctor, that is strictly ncuti gatwa’s, I think we should make up a fun nickname for him like “the echo doctor” or “the false doctor” or “the mamma mia here we go again doctor”

im so normal about this like this means nothing to me btw (terror of the autons / the mind of evil / the time monster / frontier in space / last of the time lords)
