See, people who kidnapped Spider-man typically ran up against a problem, eventually- how do you keep him down?

The thing that far too many people know about Spider-man is that he heals fast. Like, really fast. Videos of him taking hits that kill a normal person are everywhere on the internet. Even when he gets hurt, hurt bad, he’s back in the suit within a week. He can take a hit and he can hit back. His well-documented super-strength quickly rends most restraints to shattered pieces. So how do you keep him off his game? How do you keep him?

There’s one thing that everyone needs- mutant, enhanced, basic bitch human- and that’s sleep.

The difference between Steve and Tony in CA:CW will always boil down to this:

Tony stands up to authority because he was born into immense wealth and privilege and has never had to answer to anyone. He defies authority because he knows he'll never have to face actual consequences for doing so.

Steve stands up to authority because he was born into poverty and grew up a poor, disabled Irish-American during the Great Depression. He defies authority because he knows what it's like to be dismissed, undervalued, and disenfranchised and never wants anyone to face that.

Tony pushed for the accords because he knew he could just break them and nothing would happen to him (which is exactly how it went down).

Steve refused to sign the accords because he would never sign away his human rights and the rights of other people to an authority he knew would abuse them (which, again, is exactly what happened).

So in a way, they were both right about the accords. Tony was just also infinitely more wrong.

So this is very random and more or less a 'crack treated seriously' idea but I keep thinking of it every time I listen to the Captain America movie soundtracks.

AU where the serum gives Steve the ability to hear the 'soundtrack' around him. Of course he doesn't tell anyone because it'd make him look like he's crazy but he slowly catches on to what seems to be happening.

He picks up the USO dances really fast

He legendary at knowing when something bad is going to happen because he can hear the boss music

He's unconsciously good at timing his 'heroic' moves and moments since he can hear the pace pick up

He can vibe check someone instantly

Just imagine:

Steve on a mission with the Commandos: *Hydra music starts playing*

Steve: Ah, great we got company

Commandos: ???

Steve in the car with Natasha and Sam: *Winter Soldier track starts playing*

Steve: oh no

Everyone: How do you always get so pumped up for missions?

Steve: *bopping along to the action music*

*Pierce's character gets introduced with concerning undertones in the orchestra*

Steve: I don't like you

Steve in the elevator with the STRIKE team: *ominous music growing*

Steve: sigh

There's sometimes a trend in fanfic where Steve is written as louder and more clumsy or bad at stealth compared to Natasha or Bucky.

I've read many where Natasha claims he wouldn't be good on a stealth mission.

I think that comes from the scene right after he gets the serum and he's running through the city, stumbling and crashing into things as he gets used to his new body.

But we see from his mission into the Hydra factory, the stealthy take down of Batroc's men on the ship in Winter Soldier, and his ambush of the Raft in Civil War that Steve very quickly and consistently is able to move quietly and stealthily, so I think that's a misconception.

I think Steve can be scarily quiet when he wants to be. Maybe he uses the preconceived idea of his stealth capabilities to his advantage and catches people off-guard when such a large man moves so quietly.

Megoosa.
