Last Night I Actually Managed To Induce Faint Vibrations. And That Was AFTER I Successfully Hypnotised

Last night I actually managed to induce faint vibrations. And that was AFTER I successfully hypnotised myself on my own with no guided audio in about 30 seconds. (Look up the Betty Erickson technique if you want to try it too. A few popular shifting methods are actually misinterpretations of that hypnosis induction.)

---

For some reason I just keep getting better at everything but shifting. Oh well, I'm choosing to look on the positive side - the more skills I learn, the closer I get to shifting regardless.

All right, kids, this question has been on my mind for a long time after I noticed a trend in people's success stories, but now I'm hearing some very adamant opinions in the AP community and I'm curious to see if I'm right.

Okay everyone is panicking over this all over Tumblr right now and as someone who worked on an IT helpdesk for four years I'd like to set the record straight:

Notion employees have the ABILITY to access your notes, much in the same way Microsoft or Google can get access to documents you have stored in Drive/OneDrive. HOWEVER, please note that this is in the same way that bank employees technically have access to your bank account or a Facebook employee could change your password. Just because they CAN does not mean they DO.

Employees at these companies have this access so they can help you fix technical problems that may come up, and they are under strict data privacy regulations in their workplace not to look without your express permission. It is possible that a rogue employee could access your data without your consent, because that is possible literally anywhere at any company, but if it was discovered this had happened there would be severe legal consequences for that employee.

Okay?

Notion staff are not reading your JJK porn.

Edit: I was feeling stressed after I wrote this so I ran it past my bf who works in CyberSec and he said it's good and I'm right.

WAIT NOTION... employees can read your scripts???? (hold on because WHAT) please be false i have so many things.. written there.....

Betty Erickson Self-Hypnosis Technique

Okay, because @moonwillow473737 (sorry, your account isn't showing up to tag) asked, and nobody ever asks me anything, I'm writing this step by step guide on one of the most famous (and misused) self-hypnosis techniques out there: The Betty Erickson Method, also known as the 54321 Method. It was invented by the wife of American psychologist and psychiatrist Milton Erickson and is widely renowned as one of the best, and easiest self hypnosis techniques out there.

Once we get into the steps, you might notice the technique sounds familiar to you, as many psychologists recommend a variation of it as a grounding technique, and some shifters have attempted to include it in their methods. HOWEVER, I will point out that most people are doing it wrong, so if you think you already know how it works, I invite you to read on anyway and check your technique.

The Steps

The basic technique is pretty straightforward:

It's recommended that you have a plan for what you're going to do once you're hypnotised. Come up with your affirmations/suggestions ahead of time and repeat them to yourself a few times so you know you'll remember them when you're a dopey hypnotised mess.

Get into a comfortable position somewhere you can relax without being interrupted.

Keeping your head and body still, look around your room for 5 things you can see.

Repeat with 5 things you can hear.

Repeat with 5 things you can feel.

Then repeat steps 3-5 with 4 things you can see, hear and feel. Then 3, 2, and finally 1.

What Most People Get Wrong

These are the most common ways I've seen people get this technique wrong before:

Bringing in extra senses

Taste and Smell are very difficult senses to work with, and trying to find MULTIPLE things you can taste at any one time is insane. They're great for enhancing a visualisation session, but they're not helpful here.

Not using repetition

The most common mistake I see is people going "5 things you can see, 4 things you can hear, 3 things you can feel" and so on, rather than the above method. Focusing on each sense multiple times is important, for multiple reasons:

It makes the technique last longer, giving your mind time to settle into the rhythm.

It slowly narrows in your focus. You start out being aware of 5 things for each sense, then 4, then 3 and so on, until you've phased them all out and are focused inwards.

Repetitive tasks lull your brain into a sleepy state, which is what we want when we're working with hypnotic suggestions.

Examples

The more specific you can make the things you're noticing, the better. So here are some examples to help you.

Sight

Shadows on the wall

Beams of light coming through the window

The movement of a fan blade

Leaves moving in the breeze

Hearing

Your breath leaving your lungs

The Inner Sound - often manifests as a high pitched ringing that only appears when you relax or try to meditate. (Note: This is NOT tinnitus. Tinnitus is present at all times, often very difficult to ignore, and does not go away as soon as you stop paying attention to it.)

Your bedroom fan, if you have one

The breeze

Cars going past on the street

Birds singing

Touch

The weight of your blanket

The texture of your mattress

The sensation of your chest moving as you breathe

Air moving around your room

The feeling of your clothes on your skin

The weight of your glasses on your face (if you're wearing any)

Finally

I had a few more things I was going to say but, honestly, this is plenty. If it doesn't work the first time, try again. If you think you can't do it because you have ADHD - you're wrong, because I have clinically diagnosed, combination type ADHD and I can do it.

Now, if you'll excuse me, me and my boyfriend are going to the zoo tomorrow and it took me 90 damn minutes to write this when it was supposed to be quick and now it's nearly midnight. Good luck and good night.

I think I'm honestly gonna cry the day you permashift. You've been the majority of my feed for so long.

I'm just on my way home from uni because we have just been released for the summer break at last, and I wanna thank y'all so much for supporting me throughout the creation of this blog. It will always be here hahaha this is a simple form of gratitude and sweet message to my moots especially. This was the last semester of my second year in my fashion degree, which means that I will most likely return for my final year... scary, but I know that I will make it through, and from the minute I found out about shifting, I know that everything will be okay <3 Now I can enjoy my time off for a while, but I'll get really busy! As I'll be working hard towards my final major project. This means that I may be on a shifting break to focus on graduating, moving out, perhaps learning to drive? and securing a summer internship (maybe), good paying job, of course, before I start thinking about seriously thinking about permashifting out of this reality permanently. I simply want the version of myself that I'll eventually leave here to make the best out of her life even if I won't be "here" if you get what I mean, she will post my pre-drafted farewell blog to the community when I have made it but for now I wanna cherish my moments here and become the best version of myself towards my final days here! I hope y'all also understand. have a good day/night wherever you are, I love you all, and as always

happy shifting ~

Just because you haven't shifted yet doesn't mean you can't Will you trust in what I'll tell you? Just for the duration of this post? You are not broken, not doing it wrong. There isn't anything like "not spiritual enough" or "not aligned enough", "not ready enough" or any of the crap that your inner doubts viciously whisper into your ear at 3AM. You are just a person, just human. Someone trying something so weird, hard, strange and yet something so beautiful like shifting, and something most of the world doesn't even believe in. That takes guts. Shifting isn't a linear, one-size-fits-all thing. Shifting isn't a video game you master by leveling up and spending thousands of hours on it. There is no test, finish line, invisible scoreboard you need to glance at. Just because you haven't shifted yet doesn't mean you are failing. Doesn't mean that you aren't trying hard enough or that you are missing something. Just means your 4D and your 3D haven't lined up yet. But that doesn't mean they never will. Honestly said, you could shift tonight. Tomorrow. Next week. In six months when you least expect it. You could shift in the middle of doing something completely unrelated. The nature of shifting seems to be unpredictable, personal and unproveable until you experience it yourself. Should I tell you something else? Nothing you ever did to shift was wasted. Not the time you spent scripting, visualizing, hoping, crying, failing and trying once again. It all matters in the moment, but once you reach your goal, it will not matter any longer how long it took you. You are not running backwards. You are simply on your own way, and maybe that way is a bit longer. You don't owe anyone a set deadline, not even yourself. Try to take the pressure off your shoulders, you are not a machine that can push itself to the limit forever. You are a soul, allowed to be tired and frustrated, allowed to take a break and come back when it feels right for you. Maybe try tonight. Or don't. Script, or don't. Listen to your heart and body, try when you feel like it, not when you have to force yourself. I promise you are close, the fucking door is still wide open. Your chance hasn't run away, it's there. It will all be worth it.
