Finally finished this manga redraw to try and work on my style a bit...

Sooo..... finally started reading Sunrise on the Reaping!!

My literature major brain is already lovin the quotes at the beginning .... this is gonna be so fun to dissect! (I'm already planning to write my bachelor's thesis on something regarding the Hunger Games Series)

But it's way too late for more coherent thoughts so here's my first few impressions from the first chapter or so:

- I gotta draw Haymitch with the 'courtesy of the Capitol' on his ass, that's way too funny for such a grim situation, thak you Suzanne!

- I'd already seen slight spoilers but nothing compares to experiencing Lenore Dove myself!

- Oh my god the geese were hers?! Rip my heart out just now! I only finished re-reading Mockingjay today T.T

- DON'T tell me burdock is Katniss ' father!!!?! Him singing and everything going still?!?

.....Could have read like a page more and get the answer sooner....

I found that scene hilarious with the NPC in the background walking by, almost on cue when Astarion drops that line.

Finally did a little sketch for it while I'm slowly making my way through ideas...

I can't understand why you guys hate gege so much 😭 yeah the plot is rushed, some characters are left without any development, some arcs are written bad and it's something gege acknowledges himself. but like.. he's a real person?? he can make mistakes?? he can do something and then regret doing that?? please don't forget that the WSJ has unreasonable deadlines like an author has to finish a chapter within a WEEK???????? just a WEEK for the WHOLE CHAPTER? that's fucking insane and no wonder a lot of authors get burnt out eventually and finish their stories not in the way they'd like to

all I wanna say is please remember that gege is a human and in the first place he created the characters we love so much so maybe we should be grateful for that 🙏🏻
