AWWWWW that is so sweet
I know I never (personally) post things like this but I saw this on the news and I really wanted to share it.
lalody replied to your post âDo you think that the sns fans who are anti-ending, have more ProblemsâŚâ
As an SNS shipper I want to say that theres a huge difference between fighting to kill someone that is in your way and actually about to do it to fighting someone because theyre trying to stop you from chasing power and not be able to kill them (see end of Part One) and fighting that person again later because you have to lose what is most precious to you in order to have enough anguish to unlock the next stage of the sharingan. IDK how you can compare themâŚ
Why do so many people keep on regurgitating this tired notion of Sasuke ânot being able to kill Narutoâ, as if itâs even a valid point? Sasuke explicitly clarifies his reasons for sparing Narutoâs life while he was making his way to Orochimaruâs hideout. It wasnât because Naruto was too special to Sasuke for him to kill. No, it was because Sasuke simply didnât want to gain power in the same way that Itachi had done.
He remembered Itachiâs words about the importance of killing your best friend:
And Sasuke deemed that he wouldnât allow himself to become Itachiâs puppet; he wouldnât give Itachi the satisfaction of doing as he said:
Sasuke was determined to follow his own path and to gain power in his own way. Thus, when he eventually would defeat Itachi, the victory would be completely of Sasukeâs own making. Thatâs what he yearned for:
And thatâs why Sasuke spared Narutoâs life. He says it himself during their first reunion, that he spared Narutoâs life âon a whimâ, not due to some profound reason of Naruto being too precious.
As if that wasnât evidence enough, those claims that constantly try to dismiss SS by saying that Sasuke always had a deep and profound reason for wanting to kill Naruto (as if that makes it any better), whereas he wanted to kill Sakura simply because she was a nuisance - are again rendered completely null and void by this one panel:
Sasuke clearly states here that he intended to kill Naruto simply on a whim, simply because he felt like it. There was no elaborate reason behind his murder attempt here. In this instance, Naruto was simply a nuisance, just like Sakura apparently was during the Land of Iron arc. And he was only stopped by Sai, the person least likely out of all of them to have prevented his attack.
Sasuke was more than willing to take Narutoâs life when he impaled him with the Chidori during their first fight, and again when he tried to stab him during their first reunion, and again when he tried to use Kirin on the lot of them, and again during their second fight when he was about to use the Chidori on him, but Naruto countered. So can people please stop saying that Sasuke couldnât bring himself to kill Naruto? Because thatâs simply not true; itâs just that something stopped him from doing so each time.
Lastly, Sasuke didnât fight Naruto again in Part 2 in order to lose what was most precious to him so he could unlock a higher power. He fought Naruto again because he was in his way. Fighting Naruto wasnât Sasukeâs goal, it was never his goal. In fact, if it were up to Sasuke, he would have just wanted Naruto to simply leave him alone, because he clearly grew to be very frustrated since Naruto just kept on interfering with his affairs:
And so they fought because Naruto wouldnât stop getting in his way. It wasnât about Sasuke trying to rid himself of his most precious person, it was about ridding himself of the last person who stood in his way.
People keep posting that it is confirmed in this episode that Sansa is in love with Jon. Agreed. But I think it is also confirmed Jon is NOT in love with Dany, and never was. At the feast, he barely looks at her. His body is positioned with his back to her and with as much space as he can put between them without literally being in Sansaâs lap.
Why isnât Jon spending time with his love at a celebration filled with people looking to get their sexy times on?
The only time he even looks at her is when he remembers he needs to, like when Tormund calls him a king, and a dragon rider.Â
Even then, it is clear to anybody watching that she looks isolated and uncomfortable. Jonny, boy. Now would be a good time to go help her feel more welcome.
Later, when Jon is alone in his room, he doesnât look like a man who is hurting from too much to drink. He looks like a man who is still reeling from what theyâve all just been through.
When Dany comes in, and this may be my pol!jon goggles on, but he seems to look at her first as though she is intruding.
He brings up Ser Jorah, someone he knows she cared about. He spent time with Jorah and wants to offer her comfort, tell her he died the way he wanted to. But instead of saying anything about how brave he was, or how much she is in pain having lost him, she mentions that he loved her in a way she could never love him. This is Jonâs response.
She clarifies that her concern is Jon feels that way about her. That he doesnât love her the way she loves him. This is the first we hear her saying it to Jon directly, and he noticeably does not say it back. Instead he kisses her. He tries to have sex with her, but then he simply canât.
Even if Jon loved her before, or was trying really hard to, things have changed for him. She says she wishes he never told her, that she didnât know so things could be the same. His facial expression seems to communicate that he thinks she is referring to their relation, but she quickly points out that the problem is his claim.
Which beyond frustrates him.
We donât get a lot of Jonâs POV so far, but in this moment we see him hiding nothing. She canât see his face, but we can. He tells her, in an irritated tone, âI told you I donât want it.â
