farmers gotta farm…
I’m rereading Prisoner of Azkaban and the trio visit Hagrid after Buckbeak injured Malfoy. After Hagrid calms down, he finally notices that Harry is indeed there, when he’s not supposed to be out after dark because of the threat of Sirius looming and he says this:
“C’mon!” Hagrid said angrily. “I’m takin’ yer all back up ter school, an’ don’ let me catch yeh walkin’ down ter see me after dark again. I’m not worth that!”
That last sentence really got to me, because here you have Hagrid, such a kind, gentle, loving soul, willing to give anything and anyone a chance, inherently assuming that all animals (ferocious or not) are worthy of love and nurture, and he says he’s not worth the effort and the risk. Not even when he’s going through a difficult time and could use support and comfort. And I just want to hug him so badly, because damn, he’s worth SO much.
some of you don’t watch pride and prejudice (2005) multiple times a year to cope with the fear that you’ll never find love and it shows
i’m really counting on tumblr not to sleep on cloak & dagger. i’m super hopeful about this show.
a healthy interracial romantic relationship between two superheroes, crime fighting, defying stereotypes and addressing real major issues in society for women and the black community? sign me the fuck up.
there are a lot of hateful and racist comments about the casting and interracial couples on the youtube trailer from trolls who are obviously not familiar with the comics, and i’d really like to see this show be commercially successful because of the beautiful story (and a fuck you to the internet trolls as a bonus).
Visiting Tom Nook on his coffee break
There’s fanfiction…. And then there’s FANFICTION. The kind of shit you happen upon at like 3am or some other ungodly time because you were trying to find a fix for ur fixation at the time and you are just SUCKED IN and every sentence feels like a line of cocaine and it has quotes and imagery that permeate your brain and it’s the shit that sticks around in your consciousness forever and it never goes away and it’s always going to be one of Those Fics.
What was Danny glovers important thing????
Alright.
So, there was a scene where Peter Parker was looking for Donald Glover’s character. He asked Karen, his suit, to bring up the stats. If you saw, it was revealed that Glover’s character’s name is Aaron Davis. In the comics, Aaron Davis and his brother, Jefferson Davis, were a crime duo. They would do burglaries and stuff like that. But then Jefferson fell in love and left that lifestyle behind. Meanwhile, Aaron continued. In the movie, when Spidey is talking to Aaron, he tells Spidey that he has a “nephew” that he wants to protect. This means that Jefferson and his wife already had the kid. Now, who is that wife? Rio Morales. And who is the kid? Miles….Morales. Donald Glover plays Miles Morales’ uncle who will end up becoming a supervillain by the name of the Prowler. The Prowler ends up being the first supervillain that Spider-Man Miles Morales fights. :) Pretty nifty reference, huh?
So Miles MCU confirmed by Donald Glover
the latest clip wasn’t a carbon copy of evak or whatever the fuck. sana is at home. the way the space is occupied is something that’s very important to mena muslim culture. shes with her mom and the boys are in the living room. yousef entering when she’s peeling is IMPORTANT because sana doesnt feel alienated just with the girls. there’s also a distance with the expectations she has to fulfill as a muslimah, which was previously highlighted beforehand through her discussion with her mom. yousef showing her how, showing her that he is also unconventional according to tradition but still respecting her space. them having an adorable moment of peace was completely different than what the kitchen scene meant for evak. it’s unique only to them. it was beautiful and meaningful. the whole “you need to bring it towards you” was also a very neat nudge towards addressing sana’s tendencies to distance herself from her feelings and bottle them up. the clip being called “insha'Allah” is also important, since that’s what her mother says to her when sana expresses her belief that her husband will cook in her future home. it expresses uncertainty but possibility, as well. yousana may or may not happen but they are suited for each other. beautifully so.
Thank you for all the love you've been giving me! I finished my French final and now it's time to study for Chem. I love chemistry more than I used to now that I've taken time to do notes. I found a cute little coffee shop near my house and I think I might go more often.
