IMA CUT THE SMALL TALK AND GO STRAIGHT THE POINT
HOW CAN YOU LOOK AT THIS GUY
AND TELL ME YOU WONT VOTE FOR HIM
Currently watching Titanic for the first time with my friends. One of them has watched 3rd Life and the other hasn’t.
So it was the scene where everyone is running around trying to get on the lifeboats. And I blurt out, without thinking:
“Yknow, all these people could’ve survived if they just used the power of Dogwarts.”
So now lorewise, are we just saying that Cleo was so mad about her ex-husband murdering their kids last week that she allowed herself to be possessed by the spirit of a warrior goddess with the sole purpose of getting her revenge? Cause that feels pretty good and does help account for all the murder.
The life series has some of the kindest and most supportive people I have ever encountered in fandom, and I think the creative minds behind the series deserve to get some of that love too. There is no starting or finishing day to this event, as the intention is for fans to leave kind comments highlighting what they love about Wild Life and the Life Series in general, over the course of the current season. I have devised a total of eight weekly comment prompts, making an educated guess as to how long the season will be based off previous season, intended to encourage you to leave a comment on at least one video per week.
There is no time limit or minimum word count for comments. Just be kind, be honest, and don’t tear other creators down in the process of trying to build others up (“[X creator] is so overrated, people should be watching you instead”, “you deserved to win so much more than [Y creator]”, etc.). Without further ado, The Life Series Comment-a-thon:
Week 1: comment on at least one video telling the creator that you liked the video!
Week 2: pick a team/alliance, then tell at least one person in that alliance that you are really enjoying the dynamic of their team/them collaborating with the other member(s) of the team.
Week 3: tell a new member or one who skipped one or more seasons (Gem who joined last season, Ren, Mumbo, Lizzie, Skizz, and Bdubs who all either missed or did not originally post their POVs of a season) that you are happy they are on the life series.
Week 4: Most of the creators involved in the life series are male, but we know that those who are not get a larger share of the negative comments. This week pick one of them (Lizzie, Pearl, Gem, and Cleo) and tell them that you enjoy their video/their content/etc!
Week 5: leave a comment on someone’s video mentioning at least one specific thing you enjoyed about their episode/their season.
Week 6: pick a person whose videos you have not yet commented on in this event and leave them a comment saying you look forward to their episodes every week/season.
Week 7: write a short, positive comment (e.g “I loved this episode” , “this was great” , “keep up the good work”) and leave it on every POV you watch this week.
Week 8: leave a comment on someone’s video mentioning at least three specific thing you enjoyed about their episode/their season. Alternatively pick three videos to leave one specific compliment on.
Week 9+: repeat one of the previous week prompts, or better yet combine two or more! You can pick yourself, use an eight-sided die, or a random number generator to decide for you.
I know commenting can be scary and that it can be hard to find the words. At the end of the post, beneath the the read-more cut, I have a list of suggestions for what you can bring up in a comment. Just below this you will also find a list of things you can do to let the content creators know that you love their art that are not commenting!
Other things you can do:
Like ten comments on a lifer’s video
Like every video you watch
Watch a video from one of the less popular content creators (subscriber wise, or within the fandom) on the day it comes out
And most importantly:
Did a joke make you laugh?
Did you catch them making a reference to another season, SMP, or piece of media?
Did the creator interact with someone in a way you enjoyed?
What made the interaction stand out?
Did they build something you thought was pretty?
What part did you like best: the shape, the blocks they chose to use, how it ties into their season, or how it ties into the terrain around it?
If they have a new skin, what is your favourite part of it?
Did they use background music in a way you thought was especially fitting? In what way?
Did a change from one scene to the next feel very well-timed, smooth, or narratively fitting?
If you did not notice any scene changes or cuts, can you think of something the creator did to make you feel immersed in the story of the video instead of the video making itself?
What do you hope happens next? (be sure to tell them that whether it happens or not you still look forward to watching the rest of their season)
Did something surprise you?
Did the content creator say or do something that made you have a new idea?
Did you learn something new about minecraft?
Scar saw the poll turn green. He cheered to himself and smirked.
“About time someone acknowledged my sexiness,” Scar said to himself. He scrolled back up to the bracket, looking for his next competitor. He read the name and paused.
Technoblade.
He swallowed a large mouthful of air. Behind him, he heard the sick sound of steel scraping its scabbard.
—
“Doc, my brother from another mama!” Ren shouted. He leaned over the edge of the Perimeter, looking for his friend. “Did’ja see the bracket? We’re up against each other!” He heard nothing.
“Doc?” Ren shouted slightly louder.
“I heard, Ren,” Doc said. Ren turned around slowly, finding Doc standing over him in his ripped lab coat, taut muscles exposed to the elements that surrounded him. “And I’m sorry that your time in the bracket has to end this way.”
—
“Oi, Pearl!” Cleo said, landing next to their fellow hermit.
“Hiya, Cleo!” Pearl said. “Is this about the bracket?”
“Yep,” Cleo said. “I just wanted to stop by and say, no hard feelings.”
“Why would there be hard feelings?” Pearl asked.
“Well, no one’s heard from Zloy since I beat him into a pulp,” Cleo said. “I just wanted to make sure you knew there’s no shame in losing.”
“What makes you think you’re gonna win?”
Cleo arched her eyebrows menacingly and glared at Pearl.
“No, Pearl, I don’t think I’m going to win,” they said. “I know.”

“Hi Joel!” BDubs shouted. His head had just shot up out of a bush on Joel’s island.
“Good lore, BDubs!” Joel shouted, quickly moving his foot out of the way. “How did you even get here?”
“The power of my sexy prowesses!” BDubs said enthusiastically. He disentangled himself from the foliage and drew himself up to full height, which was not particularly tall. “You know what they’re saying about me on the Tumbles, right?”
“I think they actually think I’m sexier,” Joel said.
“I wouldn’t be so sure,” BDubs said, attempting to throw his arm over Joel’s shoulder. Unfortunately, he couldn’t reach, so he awkwardly backed away with an outstretched arm.
“I am, as you know, a very tall and sexy god of lore,” Joel said. “I think that beats ‘weird mossy dwarf’ any day.”

Scott cursed as he slipped on a rock. He had been crawling through the wilderness for several hours, searching for his competitor, but he had finally come close. He checked his map one more time, seeing how far he had come. Looking up, he saw a small wooden cabin. He approached it and knocked on the door.
Etho opened it, allowing savory smoke to waft into Scott’s nose.
“What’s up?” Etho asked.
“I just came to tell you…” Scott said nervously, “we’re up against each other in the bracket…”
“Oh, that’s fun!” Etho said.
“And that I’m going to tell my fans that if they don’t vote for me they’re homophobic,” Scott said.
Scott couldn’t see it, but deep down he knew that Etho was frowning disapprovingly.

Grian walked into Mumbo’s base, following some weird, high-pitched noise from his own base.
“MumboJumbo!” a voice was singing. “I am hotter!”
"Mumbo?” Grian whispered hopefully. Following the sound, he walked deeper, approaching the slight opening in the walls of Mumbo’s vault. The noise grew, and Grian’s hopes grew with it.
Those hopes deflated when he entered and saw Slimecicle dropping slimeballs on every surface.
“MumboJumbo!” the autotuned voice continued. “Come and fight me!”
Grian sighed heavily, turned, and left.

Wilbur was walking towards his front door when he noticed Joe Hills sitting on his porch.
“Oh,” Wilbur said. “You’re Joe, right?”
"Yes I am!” Joe said.
“Is this about the bracket?” Wilbur asked.
“Oh, that silly thing?” Joe said. “No, not in the slightest! I just wanted to say howdy!”
“Do you want to come in or something?” Wilbur offered. “I have soup if you want it. And I’ve been told I make some pretty good burgers.”
“No, that’s fine,” Joe said. “I’m good just sitting right here.”
“OK, then,” Wilbur said, opening the door. He walked inside and looked around. On a hunch, he checked upstairs. Nothing was amiss. He came back down to find Joe sitting exactly where he had left him.
“Are you going to… move or something?” Wilbur asked.
“No, I think I’ll sit right here for the next…” he checked his phone. “22 hours and 57 minutes.”

Grian returned to his cave to find Quackity lounging on a dark oak stair in front of the portal.
“Hiya!” Quackity said.
"Oh no,” Grian said nervously. “What do you want?”
“I thought I’d skip ahead a bit and try to cut a deal,” he said. “You see, I know I can’t win against you. You’ve got way too many stans.”
“Look, if this is about the bracket, I don’t really care-”
“Look, Grian. I have an offer.” Quackity stood up and walked towards the hermit. “Let’s pool our votes and form a ticket together. We can be co-sexymen!”
“No no no no no,” Grian said. “I’ve heard this story before.”
“But I have to beat Wilbur!” Quackity said. “Come on, man. What the fu-”
“Nope!” Grian interjected, shoving Quackity back through the Rift.
Behind him, Grumbot lit up. He whirred briefly, and then spat out a message.
WHAT WAS THAT ABOUT?
“This is a family-friendly server, Grumbot,” Grian said.

martyn in secret life being the first one to loose a canon life drives me up the walls. what was he going to do? search the four corners of the world. how? by going to the nether. what did he find? absolutely nothing and died. we know from third life that:
“i was a lowly traveler, going across the lands searching the four corners of this world. i learned there was nothing in this world for me. nothing but walls, corners, edges. and you know what? you showed me life.”
inthelittlewood did not find renthedog.
here we go girls
making a third life/wings of fire crossover AU (and writing a fic I’ll be posting here)
The main gist is that Grainshifter was a Nightwing born with animus magic under a full moon, giving him mind reading as well (for those who don’t know, animus magic has no limits. You can do ANYTHING) and the Nightwings, bastards that they are, take complete advantage of him and use him to make themselves essentially gods among the dragon species, taking the role of Watchers in this story. Generations and generations pass to the point where Nightwings are more legend than reality, as they prefer to stay hidden and feed on the strong emotions of the dragons below. After many years of being a Watcher, Grainshifter requests some time living as a normal dragon so he can experience what it’s like to live.. not in god status. His request is accepted, and he is sent down to attend Jade Mountain academy disguised as a Skywing dragonet. Here he meets all of the third life cast (excluding Martyn who comes in later) and after graduating, he returns to godhood.
Around this time, the Watchers have discovered that fear can be harvested using these cool death games! Wowee! Things are going swimmingly for awhile until the Watchers decide it would be a fantastic birthday gift idea for their special little boy to create a death game featuring all his old friends from his time at the academy :)
Grainshifter is not pleased jbJDJJXJXK
He instead uses what little influence he has (his magic was restricted at a young age before he had the autonomy to understand what was going on) to place himself in the death game in an act of somewhat childish defiance. Here he learns just how horrifying the things the Watchers are doing as he lives out the fear that they feed on. Also there’s this weird Seawing that Grainshifter doesn’t know who seems EXTRA miserable to be here, that’s odd.
This was just a little info dump on the main story, feel free to ask more lore questions or clarifications, I’m just getting started on this and I’m excited to continue!
