Laurel wiped the beads of sweat dripping down her forehead before re-tightening her ponytail. She chugged whatever was left in her refillable water bottle before dropping down beside Eevee. Laurel had always been competitive. Perhaps it was due to always needing to catch up with her older sister, but she also enjoyed the thrill of winning or losing. “You’re speaking my language, hot stuff,” Laurel said, nodding in agreement. “I actually saw you trip that person--needless to say they looked like they were gonna cry home to their parents. That’s a sweet story. I don’t have any, but when I do decide to adopt a pet, I’m thinking of getting both a cat and a dog. Growing up we had two dogs and a cat, and I’m just a lover of both. I bet the cat lives up to the name. They are as smart as hell.

I think the Halloween thing is basically my sisters forcing me to watch horror movies with them. I usually like to watch action movies and comedies. So I keep horror to Halloween if I can. So what movie would you watch tonight, that you think will have the desired effect?

Ooh! I would love to go with you to the shelter so we can find you a couple of rescues. That’s the best way to adopt. Or we can just roam the streets until the animal comes to you. You know what they say: the pet always finds you.

Oh definitely Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Wasn’t that based on a true story? Anything based on a true story is scary. Ever seen Amityville horror? The1979 film? Gave me the chills.  But yeah, you are definitely going to have to have a movie marathon. I’m due for one also. I usually do them around Halloween, but didn’t last year.

Einstein is my cute little American short-haired kitty that I found underneath the bridge at the marina. He couldn’t have been more than eight weeks old -- and it’s not rude at all. Honestly? I have no idea. It just felt right. Do you have any pets?

I haven’t seen Amityville. Horror movies are still somewhat new to me -- I wasn’t really allowed to watch them when I lived back home and the only time that I could was when I would sneak over to my boyfriend’s house. It’s weird that most people marathon horror movies on Halloween when you can really do it any time of the year. Like tonight. I could go back to my apartment, slip into something comfortable and turn on something that could make me pee my pants.
