Also, everyone who writes Gotham-based fics, whether it's straight up dc or dpxdc:
The term isn't "prostitute". It's "sex worker". Like, there are whole advocacy efforts from sex workers who provide a variety of services, whether they are full service or not, that describe the language they use for their jobs. It's not the nineties anymore. You can, like...look up sex worker advocates who are making political changes and mirror their language. Here's a page now. They're not, like, theoretical people who need saving. They're real people who work a highly stigmatized job.
Sex workers are people with jobs. Respect them.

WASN'T THIS SUPPOSED TO BE THE FUNNY WHOLESOME SPIN-OFF ANIME

Destroy it. Immediately upon sighting subject B3-8812 you must remove its life force. The gummy’s. To properly dispose of subject B3-8812 you must remove its gummy insides and set them on fire in the nearest entity containment unit.
Subject B3-8812 is a shifter with a bad habit of causing mischief, usually of the dangerous variety. It has a tendency to take the life forces of other living creatures and use said life force to power its ability to shift.
To locate S-B3-8812 you must look for items that seem out of place, such as the horrible abomination seen above. Things like that gummy horror show don’t naturally occur, they are what one might consider nightmare fuel; which ironically enough is exactly what S-B3-8812 uses in its shifting. S-B3-8812 uses creatures from you most beautiful dreams and your most haunting nightmares to design what it wishes to shift into.
Sometimes it chooses to become people, or characters, and sometimes it decides to disguise itself as and item, a plant, or a food. The reason it chooses to become assimilate to a food option occasionally, is because to pull those nightmarish or dreamlike characters from your brain it must inhabit your body first.
you hold my dreams, kid, i burst at the seams 'cause of you
Anyone who tries to use the ‘oh he was like 60 by the end’ excuse to hate him is immediately invalid in my eyes when it comes to the show, like, dislike him all you want thats your prerogative but don’t blame it on that, he was 10 and he did what he could to keep close the only people who’d ever been shown to actually give a fuck about him, even if the action was drastic he was so young theres no-way he would’ve even thought about the moral standpoint of it or something, and by the tome a few years had passed he’s still not aging and his brain isn’t changing in anyway, so essentially he is still basically just a 10 year old, and from his ten year old pov, the choice he made was for the best- he hasn’t gotten in trouble, his fairy godparents (and new little brother) are still with him and happy, and despite how miserable he had to still be to keep them around, they are still there, and that is more than good enough for him.
I know I just made a post regarding "Timmy's Secret Wish", but I have more thoughts.
Mostly, I think that Timmy was slightly justified in making the wish. Was wishing for everyone to stop aging extreme? Yes.
But look at this from his perspective.
You are ten years old. You're parents are neglectful, you have an abusive babysitter that you're always stuck with, and you're life at school isn't much better with bullying and failing grades.
Then you meet these two fairies who are meant to be there for you. And unlike your actual parents, they take being there for you very seriously. There's only one caveat, when you become an adult they'll disappear and you'll forget about them.
But that's far away. Far far away.
Now, you're life is better. You have two people who genuinely love and care about you like you're their own child, and you love and care about them like they're your actual parents. In fact, they're more like your parents than your actual parents.
Not only that, but the fairies end up having a kid. So, now you have a little brother. A little brother that you love so much. It finally feels like you have the family that you've always wanted.
But now, the reality of what's going to happen in the future is staring you in the face.
In less than 8 years time, at midnight on your 18th birthday, you are going to wake and they'll be gone. And there's no chance of ever seeing them again. To make it all so much worse, you won't mourn them. You won't shed a single tear for their absence. Because you won't remember that they ever existed. Maybe you'll have a vague feeling of missing something, but that's it.
The thought of dealing with losing not only your family, but the memory of them as well, would be horrifying for an adult to deal with. For a child, it would feel like the world is coming to end and there's nothing they can do to stop it.
So, of course Timmy made such a drastic wish. What child wouldn't alter the course of time to stay with their family?
I really think this episode is when Kazuki and Rei really face the reality that they are Miri’s FATHERS. Like, it finally sunk in.
The lady here uses otou-sama, which is a very formal way to address the two of them, very stuffy. But also very…Japanese. In Japan, it is very commonplace nowadays for little kids to use papa and mama when addressing their parents, but those are still seen as loanwords. They don’t carry the same weight as being referred to, and seen as, FATHERS.
That question and how they would be perceived by others really hit them here. They aren’t just playing house at home anymore, they are out in society and are going to be perceived as this Miri’s fathers. That may also come with the assumption that they are a couple or in a relationship with each other.
They both look uncomfortable here at that realization, but neither one really denies it either. Of course, this daycare is very unwelcoming and the lady far more judgmental than Anna. So that also likely plays a part in how they feel and react here too. The first daycare they go to focused more on the business side of things.
The room is huge, but empty, the walls are colorful, but not bright. Miri is sent off to play with blocks and the lady never directly addresses her or asks for her thoughts on things. Everything about this daycare is unwelcoming and uninviting and unaccepting, so Rei and Kazuki act coldly to this initial realization and the usage of the word FATHER here, seems very fitting.
It’s not a happy, bubbly, childlike, and even fantastical like the word “Papa” is. And the lady interviewing them, was definitely judging them, even before Miri started mentioning some more…suspicious stuff, lol.
Now, when they go to Aozora Daycare, Anna also addresses them using the word father in Japanese, but she goes with otou-san, still formal, but not stuffy and far more common and approachable. It’s still not “Papa” though. She only uses “Papa” when she talks to Miri about Rei and Kazuki.
(In the Japanese she directly addresses Kazuki first by calling him otou-san and then stating that she was asking Miri, not him, haha).
We are met with understanding here, though. Not judgement. The walls of Aozora are filled with children’s art projects, a piano that indicates singing and dancing time as a group, and warm smiles and comfy clothes. Everything that indicates a child-first daycare center.
The whole interview process ends successfully. The daycare views them as suitable parents and Miri got accepted into the school.
And while Rei looks disinterested during this entire interview. He was paying just as close attention to everything as Kazuki was, and if watch the high-five scene with a good eye, you can see that Rei actually has his hand up and waiting for Miri’s high-five before Kazuki. He understands her and her flow so well.
