christ im so autistic about vampires

one of my favorite youtubers (miniminuteman) made a video on vampire burials and im so fucking im im im im *vibrates*

he mentions so much stuff that most people dont even think/know about like coins in mouths and being buried upside down and the common connections between disease outbreaks and vampire hysteria

i literally fucking love vampires so much im so autistic and my hyperfixation oh lord oh boy oh me oh my oh gosh golly darn boy do i love vampires

Bats! This is a very self indulgent post for me and it’s an excuse to draw bats lol. Close ups and some facts below 👇

So some of these are based on vibes but there are some interesting reasons I chose some of these.

So Cazador is actually based on an extinct species of bat which is basically a massive vampire bat which are about 30% larger than a common vampire bat

Astarion is of course a common vampire bat . I couldn’t find much info on the existence of albino ones but I based him off the few images I could find

To add, Dalyria is from a species that has wings that appear pinkish due to lack of pigment, which is my personal theory for why she has that pink tone in her skin, she’s really pale

Leon being a fruit bad just made sense in my head (Maybe baby bat Victoria is under his wings lol)

Petras being a Pallid bat made sense because of course Pallid=Pale=Pale Petras

I love the idea of Aurelia being a little brown bat because I feel like I HC her as having a more diminutive and reserved personality and I feel that goes with little brown bats

Yousen is a species of Microbat which of course are some of the smaller bats in the world

I feel like Violet would be very proud of her long ears

al-an has the personality of sheldon cooper

(the movie is Strange Magic (2015) btw and I just watched it for the second time in my life because I only ever saw it when it was first in theaters and then proceeded to forget it existed)

are we just not supposed to question why the aurora had a shit ton of submersibles on it that dont seem to have any kind of other use outside of the water (such as like an actual spaceship) and then conveniently crashed on an entirely ocean planet

Fun fact: the cat is based off my cat irl who was almost entirely blind by the time she passed so that's why it says beautiful blind girl under her (extra fun fact: her name is Lefty because she was Left Behind by the family who used to live at my house. the cat came with the house)
