One of my favourite bits of media history trivia is that back in the Elizabethan period, people used to publish unauthorised copies of plays by sending someone who was good with shorthand to discretely write down all of the play's dialogue while they watched it, then reconstructing the play by combining those notes with audience interviews to recover the stage directions; in some cases, these unauthorised copies are the only record of a given play that survives to the present day. It's one of my favourites for two reasons:
It demonstrates that piracy has always lay at the heart of media preservation; and
Imagine being the 1603 equivalent of the guy with the cell phone camera in the movie theatre, furtively scribbling down notes in a little book and hoping Shakespeare himself doesn't catch you.
Roman stole Deceit's hat and his heart
Happy 2021 guys! Some of my favorite works from this year. I’ve said It on my last post but this year was really important for me and creating things for you guys helped me a lot. Stranger things but all the shipps are cannon is a good concept
Hi, my name is Nancy and this is my boyfriend, Jonathan, and this is my boyfriend’s boyfriend, Steve, and this is my boyfriend’s boyfriend’s boyfriend, Billy.

I'm so so glad tumblr makes it so easy to search and also to not see things
Just now I was taking a quick break from doing my tests and came across some Roman hate in the comments of the comic I was reading in instagram and, God, I really didn't need that now.
It's so much easier to avoid this things here and I'm so fricking glad because while unsympathetic interpretations don't really bother me and I just tend to avoid them when it come to characters I project heavily into, hate makes me really upset and I'm having a hard time preparing for the next test now.
OK, so I wanted to formulate my opinion here
I got into fandom by reading youtuber fan fiction back in the day. I remember this specific people had a video reading fanfic and it was really fun so I looked for more.
From my experience, shipping and writing fanfic really wasn't the problem, the problem is when people try to involve the creators with the content, messaging them or trying to turn their attention to it. The creator/actor or whoever should only see this type of content if they look for it, because it's content from fans to fans and they shouldn't have to see pushy messages to kiss you or people they know. You can say to a creator that you like their friendship with other people because they have fun interactions or whatever, but anything that is too on the imagining things side should stay for the fans.
I can definitely agree with op that it's not a sfw or nsfw debate, it's a being respectful to people and letting they do their thing while you enjoy your thing
nsfw fanfiction of real people is weird but so is sfw fanfiction. the problem isnt just nsfw works but the entire idea of treating real people like fictional characters.
I really wanted Deceit to reveal his name because I always write deciet wrong every. time.
But now that he has I still am not sure how to write it. Is it Jemus? Jamus? Jamis?Janus? JANICE?
Part of me can't help but think he would find the fact we can't spell funny
listen i'm not at all good at coming up with angst but
absolutely don't imagine Roman not hesitating to sacrifice himself to save another side, leading him to be fatally wounded with a low chance of survival
at least this way, he finally got to be the hero, right?
