There’s nothing that can get my brain to officially log the difference between stalagmite and stalactite. Every time I’m offered a mnemonic on the subject it slips gracefully out the other ear and I frankly just don’t care.
So when our DM tried to set an ambush during a cave fight with ropers, some clinging to the ceiling and others on floor I just said, “I cast Shape Earth on the ones hanging on the ceiling stalags.”
There was a brief pause as everyone processed this.
“Do you mean the stalactites?”
“Yeah, whichever. Mites, tites, they’re all stalags to me.
The party found this hilarious and “stalags” has been used ubiquitously since then.
“The cave you enter is full of stalags,” is a real sentence I got my DM to say and I’m so proud and relieved to stop pretending to care about geology terms.

“Here’s a collection of some of the title cards for Danny Phantom. I get to design these as well as draw the type and come up with the funky 50’s horror movie poster sayings.” ~ Benjamin Balistreri.
Some writers: *meticulously plan out every plot point and the tone and meanings before they start writing*
Me:
me, having deeply fallen out of the practice of writing poetry: I can’t write any more, I am now a Talentless Hack
the voice of my 11th grade journalism/12th grade creative writing teacher who rly did know everything: if you stop writing for a while the words will build up and stagnate. to clear the water, you will have to open the dam completely, and accept the fact that what initially comes out will not be palatable
She/They, I'm a self-taught artist and writer whose posts tend to revolve around my OCs, artwork and whatever media is my current hyperfixation. I've got a couple original stories and fanworks that I want to share, but it might be awhile, please be patient with me while I work up the courage to actually do what I love for once (storytelling)
