No, we have returned to the office and he has taken his jacket and departed back to his own estate by this time. I appreciate the offer, though; despite being unsure of how such an item would be shared.

I was not forced to do so by any means, he just appeared to be displeased with the cold temperature and so I chose to offer it to him.

It is quite bitterly cold outside at the moment. I believe that I should keep this in mind during my next excursion with Hastie and that I should advise him to bring a jacket of his own.

Oh- Why thank you for saying that. I have heard that on occasion but it is still kind of you to say nonetheless.

Uh oh! If you mix baking soda and vinegar and try to scrub it out, that might work! Make sure not to use any hot water on it

Oh, thank you. I was not aware it was that simple. We have gotten much of it out but I will give that tip a try for what remains. Thank you again.

Aw, little strawberry thief! Do you think she belongs to anyone?

We were unsure. She looked like a cat that someone else that I have spoken to has seen around the streets a small handful of times, but she could just as easily have been allowed to free roam.

By the way! Can you describe your little guest for us?

Of course, she was white with auburn and brown spots and brown eyes. She also had a small splotch of red at her mouth that Hastie and I were able to, fortunately, conclude as being from eating some of Hastie’s strawberries that a patient had given him earlier that day.

Fate is a funny thing, isn't it?

It can certainly be quite peculiar on occasion.

Precisely! She was fed some scraps from my breakfast and given water and has since left to be on her way but her visit was nonetheless appreciated.

It appears that a window was left open and that we had a guest find itself into our office last night… We have tracked her down and she was thankfully quite sweet and did not make any attempts to bite Hastie or myself but nonetheless it was a… Ehm. Surprising incident this morning.

Aw, that's nice for the student! We know you play the piano and the violin, but do you have a favorite instrument to listen to?

It is! I am actually quite partial to the cello, though both the piano and the violin are tied closely for my second most favorite instrument.

Aw, that sounds very nice.. do you know who's playing that tune?

Ah- Hello again. Yes, that would be the school of music next door. They have a tendency to leave their windows open during lessons — not that I mind in the slightest.

This tune sounds like that of one of the students I’ve heard practicing a couple of times in the last few weeks. They often make mistakes but once they are able to get it correct once, they tend to be able to get it correct each following time.

Dr. Jekyll quietly worked on arranging some paperwork, a small breeze blowing in from the window and causing the edges of the papers to softly curl, Jekyll taking a single moment to smooth them back down.

Somewhere in the distance, the gentle sound of a piano could be heard playing from a nearby building. It would play the same few steps of a single tune, occasionally making a mistake before restarting the same tune following a gap of silence. Alongside it, the occasional sound of chatter and horses could be heard from the street.

After some time, Jekyll would quietly stand up, taking the papers and walking to the bookshelf where he would remove a folder and slip the papers inside. Then, he would tuck the folder into the back and return to his desk, taking a moment to look out the window and listen to the musical tune play gently; finally finishing the tune to the fullest for the first time since it had started before quieting.

That's a fair conclusion! Let us know if you end up thinking about it a little more!

Of course. I will bring it up with Hastie’s when I see him next week. Until then, I appreciate the thought.

Maybe your patients would like a cat being around? As long as it doesn't mess with your equipment, it should be fine, right?

Hah, fortunately, I am careful to shelf and lock and of our medicinal glasses. We would potentially be able to make it work by closing off Hastie’s office as well…? Regardless, I believe it best to consider this for some time before acting on this whim.

Do you think you might get the chance to own a cat in the future?

I am unsure. On one hand, it would be nice to. On the other hand, I hesitate to believe that it would be proper to have a cat in the office.

Aw, that's a little sad! Do you have any favorites?

It is not too bad. Someone I know tends to leave out food and water for the neighborhood strays nearby so occasionally I have the fortune of encountering them on my walks. As you may be able to infer, I am partial to cats, though I also am fond of horses!

They are! Different topic, but do you like animals?

I do! I do not have any animals of my own, unfortunately, but I do appreciate them!

I'm not a great fan of most baked goods due to some food allergies, but do you know those little dough balls with whipped cream inside? I don't remember the name right now, but they're really good!

Oh! Croquembouche — the ones with the caramel drizzle? I find those rather fantastic as well! The sauce is absolutely lovely.

Oh, that sounds nice!! Is there anything specific you like to get from the bakery?

I tend to prefer some of the more floral-flavored items from bakeries. The scones are quite lovely. The bakery that I tend to go to has such a lovely frosting that they put on their rose scones that is just truly spectacular! It is quite a subtle flavor but I hardly have any complaints about it! Do you favor any baked items as well?
