DeadSerious Meet the Parent(s) ft. Eldritch Danny

Bruce clenches his jaw, feeling like he needs to Glare at something but feels Dick elbow him, roughly, and holds it back. He instead makes a quiet grumble that is ignored.

In all his years of being a Father of many (and he means many) children, you'd figure he'd get better when they got older and started dating.

He was fine when Dick and Barbara dated on and off, when Jason brought Roy to the Manor and Bruce was hit with the realization he could possibly have Oliver Queen as an in-law. He stayed quiet when Tim and Stephanie dated, and even when Cassandra had that moment with Kon (he nor Clark like to bring it up).

But Damian just turned 15, he should be focusing on his art, his hobbies and interests.

That's why, it was a surprise when Damian requested Bruce and Dick meet him down at the Batcave one random day.

Bruce wasn't even sure where to look when they made their way down and an eldritch being, who kept changing its form every second, revealing something only one who deals with The Scarecrow on a monthly basis could fantom looking straight at, was down there.

Instead, Bruce is staring at the tall, strange eldritch being in his Batcave, in his Manor (it really belongs to Alfred) as his youngest walks to it and holds hands with.... whatever was in the Batcave (was it an it?)

"His name is Daniel, and he is my Beloved." Damian says, as if perfectly in tune with his Father's train of thought and Bruce was proud of how his son knew just when to swoop in.

"I'm sure Daniel seems like a swell guy!" Dick says, and Bruce really has to give him credit for being the calm one in this situation.

Damian gives a small puff of his chest and leans in just the slightest bit closer to... Daniel.

"Beloved, this is my Father, Bruce Wayne. And my... other parental figure, Richard Grayson, who's also my eldest brother." Damian says to Daniel with a hand wave gesture towards Bruce and Dick.

Daniel only let out a small screech-like sound that would haunt Bruce's ears for years to come, Dick's smile strains a bit.

Damian, on the other hand, looked absolutely delighted at whatever Daniel confirmed.

How lovely, it would seem Daniel approved of them.

Damian: Father, where is Alfred? I need his counsel on an issue. Bruce: He stepped out for some errands, but I can help in his place. What's the issue? Damian: No. Even I am more knowledgeable in the ways of the heart than you. I shall wait for Alfred's return. Bruce mouthing: In the ways of the heart? Later that evening: ........ Bruce: Did Damian talk to you about his problem today, Alfred? Alfred: Yes, Master Bruce. The lad seemed to be sweet on a classmate and was seeking guidance on how to approach the young man. Bruce: Why didn't he come to me!? I could help him! Alfred: Seeing as you failed to get Jack Fenton to glance in your direction, let alone consider you a romantic partner, I fail to see how you would help Master Damian with Danny Fenton. Bruce: Jack Fenton has a son!? A son Damian fancies!? Alfred: Yes, he does. Interestingly enough, I had a similar conversation with your father back when he learned Anthony Fenton's son was Jack. Bruce: I can't believe this. It's always the Fentons. WHY CAN'T THEY EVER LOVE US BACK?! Alfred: Well, you know what they say. The third time is the charm. Perhaps Master Damian will have better luck than you or your father did. Bruce: Do you really belive that? Alfred: Oh not at all. I've seen the way Mr.Fenton looks at Master Damian. That is not the expression of a boy who fancies someone. Rather, I would say it's the one a butcher aims at a cow for slaughter. Bruce sighing: And the cycle of heart break contuines.

Ghost Train

It was no secret that the trains in Gotham were damaged, whether it was from all the explosions that flooded the city on a daily basis or the fact that the rails were broken wasn't completely clear. At that point, what was once a train station was nothing more than an empty place used by some homeless people to sleep.

Or that's what it was supposed to be, because while the station was damaged and underneath the city, it was actually active. It just had another kind of train, a slightly more interesting one.

In Danny's defense, he was extremely bored and there was an abandoned train station he could use to play with. All it took was calling in a favor from Technus and a fully functional ghost train connected the Infinite Realms to Gotham.

The ghosts, of course, used this for fun. Fighting each other, chasing each other, celebrating, having concerts. It was a way to go to the human world without anyone causing trouble for them, not that anyone was paying attention anyway.

Or at least, no one was supposed to be paying attention, because Waylon was dumbfounded at the sight. He had escaped to the old rails when he had no other choice, his sewers were compromised and he needed a way out. He didn't expect to walk right into a party, or be offered a sandwich with a smile instead of a shout.

He could also observe a clearly glowing train and the fact that everyone there was glowing. They could be metas, or another completely new creature, but Waylon didn't care, they gave him food and he wasn't a snitch.

NO CANON DYNAMIC YET. QUICK, THROW OUT HYPOTHETICALS

Contrary to the belief of those few who research the paranormal, it is possible to for a ghost to create another without the death of the living or one that forms naturally from the other side.

What they would call reproduction.

A ghost could, if they were wanted to, split a part off of themselves to create another ghost. However, it is a rare thing, for ghosts do not usually wish for children, and one of the factors contributing to said creation is the intense desire for one.

To create 'life', they have to have an intense desire to do so, a base (which is usually a piece of themselves) and a few other factors.

It isn't exactly common knowledge, but it isn't rare knowledge either.

So, it certainly came as a surprise when the Sarcophagus of Forever Sleep was opened by a group of humans who managed to both steal the Sarcophagus and retreat from the zone before it was realized, that not one stepped out.

But two.

It was a complete and utter accident, if it were to be honest. The portal, unfinished as it was yet turned on wasn't the most stable thing, and an unstable portal leaves a lot to be desired, not to mention how dangerous it could potentially be.

Again, it'll repeat.

It was a complete accident. How the boy just so happened to be randomly shoved anywhere inside of itself due to the inability to reestablish the portal to the living world.

And the boy just so happened to be shoved directly into the place containing it's first, current, and only king.

Pariah Dark.

Pariah Dark's conscious may have been inactive, but his subconscious wasn't. So, when he felt another presence that should not be with him inside of his prison.

You could say he was curious.

So, he poked at the mind curiously, the being's own subconscious sluggish and seemingly, pained. The boy (which he found out after a few pokes here and there) was highly unstable, going against the natural order of being both living and dead.

Now wasn't that interesting?

This was the first of his kind that the king had ever laid 'eyes' upon, and in his eternal prison, no less?

Well, it would be a shame to let something such as this, slip between his fingers so easily, would it not?

So, he let the child feed off of him, he certainly had more than enough ectoplasm to spare if he were to be honest, and yes, he is tooting his own horn. The boy, unstable as he was, would most certainly be molded somewhat by feeding off of his ectoplasm, enough so that others could even mistake the boy's own signature for his own for a few moments.

Would that be such a bad thing, however?

He always wondered how having an heir would be like.

Hanahaki Speedrun:

Danny comes from a world where hanahaki exists and is very common. Then he moved to the DC universe where hanahaki doesn't exist and nobody has heard of it. Danny falls in love with Bart Allen. He would have taken at least a few more weeks to figure that out if the extreme pain didn't give away that there were suddenly blood blossom seeds in his lungs. He isn't going to survive to the end of the day and he only just fell in love that day. Those feelings are new and he hasn't had time to think about/process/understand how he feels about Bart and he's not going to get time to adjust to these new feelings before he dies. Forcing the seeds out of his system will take away his ability to ever feel any kind of love again, and that would be worse than dying all the way. So He tells his team that the blood blossom seeds in his lungs are going to kill him by the end of the day, but forcing them out of his system will have irreversible affects that will doom him to a fate worse than death and change who he is forever. They're trying to process that they're about to lose their friend/teammate who they've gotten pretty close with in the past few months, and Bart tells Danny that he loves him. He apologizes for making this about his own feelings, but he couldn't bare the regret of losing the boy he's in love with having never told him how he feels. Danny coughs up all the seeds and some blood and he's going to survive. Nobody fully understands what just happened, Danny tells the team that he's not dying anymore but is still in pain from the blood blossom seeds and should get away from them quickly and that he needs a few hours to rest and recover from almost dying and to process what just happened. He gives Bart a kiss on the cheek and leaves to go lay down. Bart cleans up the blood and seeds that Danny coughed up and everyone is very confused, worried, sad, happy, lots of emotions and trying to stop crying. Danny explains what hanahaki disease is and how it works. Everyone needs some time to process that. Danny and Bart go to another room to talk about what this means for them. While they just went through a falling in love, almost dying, and confession speedrun, they should probably take at least a little more time in figuring out their relationship now that Danny's not dying 'cause he still needs to let it fully sink in that he's in love.

Gimmie a Danny and Damian twins au, but not one where they're all gushy gushy and huggy huggy about the fact that they're reunited.

I want one, where they HATE and try to KILL EACH OTHER. Where they're extremely fucked up in their relationship with one another, but can't kill the other because Taila hoped that they could get along.

They spew poison at each other, inflict pain on each other as easy as BREATHING and would leave the other while heavily injured while saying that they could take care of themselves.

I want them to be near mortal-enemies wrapped up in the bodies of two highly-competent and powerful 14 year olds who cannot give a fuck about each other, has a fleeting thought of killing the other on the best of days but doesn't because of their dear mommy Taila.

Then force them to interact with each other after a long period of separation. I don't give a flying FUCK how you manage to do it, perhaps Danny has to run because his parents vivisected him, perhaps the Nasty Burger explosion couldn't be reversed because Clockwork said no and Danny is torn or perhaps Vlad brings him to Gotham for a gala (either redeemed or not redeemed Vlad), etc, etc.

Force these two children who fucking HATE each other under the same roof, make them interact, make them watch each other interact and make comments about it. Maybe even make an unstable Danny try and KILL Damian, but is stopped by the batfam, or maybe make it that Danny can't even bring himself to kill Damian because he's (discounting Talia) the only family he has left.

Maybe even (if you go the Nasty Burger/Dead Fenton fam au) make Danny hate Bruce Wayne's fucking GUTS because this man is trying to replace his dead father (even though Bruce IS his biological father) and hates him even MORE because he looks so similar to Jack's face that he's literally torn whenever he sees him. Make it that he never stays in the same room as Bruce whenever he's not in mask, make it that he tells Bruce TO HIS FACE that he hates the man for trying to replace his dead FUCKING dad and that he will NEVER accept him as one, biologically related or not.

Maybe even make him not like the batfam either just for the fact that they associate with both Bruce and Damian.

(I just remembered about that one post I saw, but BOY is this ramble gonna get even WORSE for dear old Danny. Though this part isn't really necessary could just read the on top bit lol)

Maybe they even find a way to take away his ghost side, and Bruce (With or without Talia) say that it's for the best for him, and Danny? Danny just fucking BREAKS. DOWN. He's full-on crying and screaming at Bruce and maybe has to be held back by the other batkids or not, or maybe he's just fulling on trying to hit Bruce and Bruce either dodges or just takes it.

Saying how fucking DARE he take away his ghost side, that was apart of him and he had NO FUCKING RIGHT to take away something so precious from him. Then Bruce could say that he doesn't need powers, he could be fully if not even more capable as a human.

And Danny just goes "You don't even get it, do you?" And Danny just cries harder because technically that was one the LAST things linking him to his parents. His DEAD parents. Sure, the accident was his fault, but phantom was created because of their portal, in their lab, in their basement.

Even worse if the reveal went RIGHT and they starting accepting how he was half ghost and trying to change their views on ghosts as a whole, only to die. Then, for some guy to just, take away something like that from him?

Maybe Danny would even say that, rip into him about how that was one of the only things linking him to his parents and even if it wasn't he didn't have the fucking right to decide what to do with HIS body.

"You never had to fucking worry about your parents not accepting you, I did. They still loved me regardless, they tried to change for me. But you wouldn't even know what that feels like, would you, you stupid fucking rich boy."

[idk why I typed that part out but just role with it.]

Maybe Bruce tries to sympathize with Danny about his parents, but Danny just doesn't have any fucks left to give about Bruce's life, or anyone else life in Bruce's life at all and just shuts it down or steamrolls over it. At the end of it all Danny is just a crying, shivering wreck and stares down Bruce with eyes full of HATE that tells Bruce one step closer, and he would KILL him.

Maybe then Damian (Either walks in or was there the entire time.) insults Danny over his weakness and depending on his ghost form or something, and Danny just sees fucking RED and jumps on him. No care that he's no longer half ghost, so that he means he could die more easily, no care to anyone else in that room, no care that Talia wanted both of them to get along and not kill each other.

He tries to kill Damian.

He fails miserably, of course, but he still tries. Then tries again and a fucking gain.

Then after all that he just, doesn't come out of his room, or tries to escape and leave Gotham every chance he gets. He never gets far, but he keeps trying, and he never opens up to anyone in the batfam, not even Alfred.

He's just a kid who lost everything he worked so hard for, everything he tried to hide from his biological mother and her assassin league who tried to keep whatever he had left. Now that kid is fueled by nothing but pure, revolting hatred for the people who took even that from him.

Basically like Dark Danny, but way more powerless and fully human.

[Okay that's enough of me rambling.]

Danny leaves Amity Park to start his own Demolitions business.

He uses hoards of blob ghosts that safely and quietly just...eat the buildings he's hired to demolish. They do it overnight, all living animals/hidden homeless/injured vigilantes are spared.

He sets up in Metropolis, because more often than not the buildings that get damaged in Superman's fights have to be completely torn down.

He puts up a privacy screen so that no one can see what happens on the other side, and at three in the morning he releases the blob ghosts.

Since cameras can't pick them up, people assume he has the power to either melt buildings or make them disintegrate.

Business is booming, he's confusing literally everyone and making money while doing it. He's doing so well, in fact, he also starts taking orders from outside Metropolis.

Batman does not want the meta demolition man with melting/disintegration powers in Gotham, no he does not.

There was a giant, glowing white dragon flying through Gotham's sky, bright enough to be seen through the dark sky even as high up as it were.

Each and every one of the Batfam were curious about its existence as a whole.

It kept appearing each and every night, seemingly looking for something, something that the batfam is keeping a lookout for, despite not knowing what it was.

A few weeks later, Killer Croc broke out of Arkham, and was currently being fought by the big Bat. Then a flash of white came barreling down from the sky, the dragon that was hanging overhead of Gotham, locked solely upon one Killer Croc.

It seems to shrink, rather than being the length that towers over buildings, it became way smaller. Small enough to wrap around Killer Croc without hiding him from sight.

"Uncle Waylon!"
