HAIR TUTORIAL - 2011 Billboard Awards

Materials Needed: 1-in curling iron/wand, heat protectant, a small clip, and hairspray (optional)

Prep) Part your hair to one side (Taylor’s is to the right), brush out any tangles, and spray a light layer of heat protectant

Step 1) Take a 1-inch section of the very front of your hair (including bangs if necessary) and clip them back until the end.

Step 2) Use your curling iron to curl your hair in 1-inch sections twisting away from your face. Start with the hair closest to your face and work outwards. Hold each curl for 10-15 seconds so that they are loose and soft. Tip: Section off your hair when curling with a clip. Also, angle the barrel downward for the best results.

Step 3) Let loose the section of hair you clipped back in Step 1. Using your iron/wand, curl this section (twisting away from the face) for about 25 seconds to make this curl more structured than the others. Tip: If you have shorter bangs, lightly curl them so that they fold into the defined front curl.

Step 4) Spritz with some hairspray for an all-day hold and you’ve got yourself beautiful, soft, glamour curls like Taylor Swift.
