I’ve never seen Star Trek, but I love this poetry and I agree that this gentleman doesn’t deserve being treated so meanly. It must’ve been pretty difficult to incorporate all these complex words and terms into the rhythm of a poem, and that’s a nice and original way to express affection. I’d love to listen to the way he reads it, too (partly because I have doubts about pronouncing half of these words even with the help of the rhythmic clues). (also I saw this thread on Pinterest first and I’m rather glad to see it appear on my own Tumblr dashboard without any particular reason (again, I’m not a Star Trek fan))
I actually… love this
I outgrew Harry & Ron & Hermione… And Alisa Seleznyova… And the Pevensies… And Kalle Blomkvist…
*sheds a tear*
the fact that i'm no longer the same age as the protagonists of novels and films i once connected to is so heartbreaking. there was a time when I looked forward to turning their age. i did. and i also outgrew them. i continue to age, but they don't; never will. the immortality of fiction is beautiful, but cruel.
Just stole a last name for a character in desperate need of one from a famous actor. It’s not like he was using it, anyway.
A cheese sandwich
If I ask nicely will people reblog this and tell me what their most common breakfast is? Not your favorite necessarily, just what you have for breakfast most frequently? 🙏🏽
i feel like sometimes i dog on the movies a little bit for omitting so much important information or changing things a little too much but honestly there are a couple changes that i do like and appreciate- for example arwen. she only appears for like six pages in all three books and has a couple lines speaking with aragorn. i like that in the movie they changed her to be the person that rescues frodo after weathertop, because tbh having glorfindel pull up for 1 scene and then never be mentioned again would be extremely confusing for someone who doesn't know much about the legendarium. they also changed her personality to be more headstrong plus her mini-plot of arguing with elrond about choosing mortality just provides so much more depth to her and elrond. its just nice to have a third female character other than galadriel and eowyn who actually does something
Years of screenshots of this website on Pinterest have done their job. I’ve decided to join in. do I get, like, a rite of initiation or something? y’all seem like the type to do so
Damn, this is such cool analysis, I don’t know what to say… I’m jealous. I want to study this. I wanna be able to do this. I wanna be able to use this on myself. I want to design character costumes like this. I don’t need more skill envy in my life, help
idle Jaskier-related notion:
Joey Batey is really approximately the same size and shape as Henry Cavill, and there are a number of clever techniques in pretty much all Jaskier's costumes to hide this fact and make him look about three or four inches narrower than he actually is. The costumers work really really hard to make him look that twinky, often with cleverly cut shoulder decorations that pretend he's trying to look bigger than he is and have the actual effect of making him look a lot lighter.
On a Doylistic level this makes sense, because it's hard to make Geralt look Huge and Imposing next to your non-combatant harmless sidekick if said sidekick is a jacked six foot burly man.
On a Watsonian level, however, the notion of Jaskier as this big meaty dude aggressively arguing with all his tailors to ensure that he looks as non threatening and foppish and entertaining as possible while also looking as sexy as he can (for a Jaskier definition of sexy, at least) is generating considerable entertainment for me this fine morning.
This photo is so him. He was my author. He was my friend. Like all of you, I miss him everyday. Thank you for keeping the ripples going.

Я самый обаятельный и привлекательный, все мужчины от меня без ума…

Imagine being a feared drug lord that orders the death of children, threatens infant daughters, poisons the Cartel, and runs a huge meth dealing operation and the moniker your rivals know you as is "Chicken Man."
Do you embody any stereotypes?
