Hobie just knowing how to do hair and one day, when he's staying over at Miles' dorm, he just brings out a comb, grease, some jam and pats between his legs

"C'mere."

"Uh...why ?"

"I'm gonna do your hair, duh."

And Miles jumps because he doesn't like other people touching his hair because he's tenderheaded and would cry whenever his parents would comb his hair but Hobie just grabs him and forces him to sit down and Miles is flinching but when Hobie starts combing his hair, he actually relaxes because Hobie's hands are so gentle and Miles actually falls asleep and wakes up with cornrows

"Oh...wow..."

"Told you that you were just bein' a baby."

"Usually it takes forever for other people to do my hair..."

"Let me guess. Tenderheaded ?"

"Yeah..."

"Same boat. That's why I learned to do my own hair. It's easier that way. No one yankin' and pullin' and leaving with killer migraines"

And he just throws Miles a durag he pulled out of nowhere, tells him to tie it up before he goes to bed and goes about his business and Miles asks him to do his hair every time he comes over.

Bonus: People are jealous that Miles comes in with cool new hairstyles every week and some of them even beg for him to hook them up with his 'stylist'

whoever said there was gonna be a love triangle between miles, gwen, and hobie oughta be ashamed. if anything, hobie was more into miles.

that boy did NOT leave miles alone for one second! draping his arm over him constantly, literally HELPING HIM, talking to him more than he has spoken to gwen in the whole movie..?

look, i love gwen, but she’s definitely not in the center of the love triangle for real, its miles.

imagine hobie REALLY wanting to take miles' last name and being sooo embarrassed about it because marriage is very much something youd think he wouldnt be all that interested in yet there he is daydreaming about it 😭😭

Hobies one of those guys that acts all tough and cool but starts kicking their feet, twirling their hair and giggling like a school girl in a 2000s American coming of age movie when they go home after spending a day with somebody they like.

Like, yes, hobie thinks marriages are a bloody scam but he would make an exception for Miles ‼️

I think a big thing that people are overlooking is how Hobie looks out for his own and how much that coincides with punk culture.

Him looking out for younger teens is so fucking punk of him. He lets Gwen stay with him because she's vulnerable and struggling, he makes her a watch, he lets her keep his shoes, etc. and it's not out of romance, it's because she's family. Same with Miles; he knows Miles is naive and wants to help him, because he's been in the spider society longer and he knows what's really going on. He sees the adults, who are supposed to mentor them, targeting Miles and he just knows it's flat-out wrong and that he wants no part of it.

Hobie takes on such a big brother role for the other characters and I love it. He's more mature than the other teens in so many aspects, and he uses his experience to teach them how to get by because that's what being punk is about
