What’s happening to autistic people right now?

(Trigger warning for abuse, electroshock therapy, torture, and ableism.)

The US court has overturned the ban on shock devices being used against disabled students, predominantly autistic students in the US.

The shock device being legalized is called the graduated electronic decelerator (or GED). This is a torture device that is used to ‘correct’ autistic behaviors / symptoms. Autistic people are shocked for stimming, and for having meltdowns, ect. This device was made popular by a behavioral center (the Judge Rosenberg Center, specifically) that is infamous for its abuse and torture of autistic / disabled patients.

This is what the device looks like. It sends electric shocks into the victim’s skin; the victim often being restrained and held against their will. This is torture. GEDs have been reported to cause intense psychological trauma, PTSD, and physical injuries.

In March of 2020, the FDA ruled for GEDs to be banned. (Although, of course, they were still illegally used at a number of places.) This ruling has recently been appealed, and today, the US court of appeals has re-regulated the law to stop the use of GED. Sounds great, right? It would be!

... If not for a huge loophole in the wording, which basically allows this torture to continue. This device is going to have continued use on autistic students in order to “correct their behavior.”

Omfg wtf is happening I downloaded hollow knight and now my tumblr feed is filled with hollow knight fanart and memes I HAVEN'T EVEN LAUNCHED IT YET OR TALKED ABOUT IT

So I thought this was commonly known internet navigation (but apparently it might just be those of us who have been using the internet since the 90's who still know it). Or so it seems based on... a grumpy comment I got.

When you see an arrow like this:

It means you click it to expand out a hidden section.

It's an accordion section/menu! It's useful in web design to hide information that may be overwhelming under specific headers so people can only see what they need.

Here I'm using it for people who need the content warnings to be able to check, but for those who don't need them and don't want to be spoiled to just move right past without accidentally reading anything.

It's still the user's responsibility to click the arrow and read things as they need! But it is all warned. (And, yes, the all encompassing issues are already a tag on the fic, I'm just providing additonal warnings per chapter.)

A proof of concept for a little TF2/Breaking Bad crossover I dreamed up. I call it Operation Broken Fortress.

The idea is that when Jesse is trying to cook Walt's formula by himself, he accidentally synthesizes Australium as a byproduct. So, Gus IMMEDIATELY puts Jesse & Walt in contact with Miss Pauling & the Administrator. Now, the manufacturers aren't supposed to come in contact with the mercs or even know they exist, but through Walt's arrogance, he and Jesse end up accidentally encountering them anyway. Shenanigans ensue.

Damn, this is the first time I've done an actual one-shot comic in a while. I'll admit some parts of it were rushed (perhaps unwisely), but overall I'm really glad I got this done. Honestly, it'd be consuming my every waking moment otherwise.

I have a logo drawn up for this monstrosity, but it's not quite finished yet. Maybe when I have more energy...
