I'm 17 and also have pcos. What are your tips and recommendations for dealing with it? Especially with weight loss
ok well i will just start by saying that all of this is very googleable and ive been doing my own research over the past few weeks but i havent really started putting together my diet plan until today, so im not basing this off of my own personal success but on what ive read. i recommend you do your own research as well but ill condense mine as best i can!
limit intake of grains/gluten and processed carbohydrates. this is my main focus rn bc its a very difficult thing for me to do, but its basically the first point listed in any PCOS diet plan. limit things like bread, bagels, chips, crackers, pasta, etc. that are high in gluten and processed grains. if you have trouble cutting out grains completely, stick to whole grains like brown rice or quinoa.
limit intake of processed sugars. obvious one but processed foods take more insulin to break down, especially processed sugars. avoid candy, cookies, baked goods, etc. but do eat dark chocolate if you want something sweet!
limit intake of dairy. this is hard to do obviously and not high on my list of priorities, but apparently dairy can cause the creation of more insulin which is exactly what PCOS diets are trying to avoid.
eat more above-ground vegetables and dark fruits. above-ground veggies just means avoiding root veggies like potatoes and yamsâwhich goes hand in hand with the avoiding carbs thing. dark fruits like blueberries, blackberries, and dark cherries are good. other fruits are good, but try not to overeat fruit because it does have a lot of sugar (albeit good sugar) which can increase insulin production.
limit consumption of red and processed meats. stick to lean protein like cold-water fish (salmon for example), turkey, eggs, and chicken.
stick to good fats. nuts, olive oil, avocados, and other foods that are high in good fats are beneficial to any diet and can help fill the spaces that carbs leave in your stomach!
eat things you like! if you eat things you enjoy youâre more likely to stick to this lifestyle, so stick to things that you like that fit into this plan. for me itâs things like salads, watermelon, and almondsâfoods ive always loved but also happen to fit into this diet. find what works for you and itâll be a lot easier to stick to your plan!
exercise and live an active life as much as you can. like with normal people, doctors recommend that people with PCOS lead a healthy and active lifestyle. doctors recommend 30 mins to 1 hour of exercise per day. diet is the main thing for managing PCOS, but exercise can help a lot with the weight loss aspect if you pair it with eating well.
anyway this got kind of long but i tried to put in everything ive read. you can also check out this site which is all about managing PCOS with your diet!! good luck and i hope this helped you!
for when the burnout is real and all you really wanna do is lie in bed and watch things but you gotta at least try to study. these are mostly channels iâve watched and subscribed to! (updated 17/12/2015)

Manga is a medium of opposites where black and white is colourful, and less is more. The shortest manga tend to stick with me the longest, their lack of specific details and explanations make the FEELING left behind that much stronger. I rarely have much to say about this kind of manga. If itâs only 5 or so chapters just read it for Godâs sake, and get that FEELING. Reading a synopsis for a short manga basically gives half of it away, so instead Iâm gonna go through each of these and try to convey what specific FEELING they make you FEEL.

When I was eleven I skipped school in the middle of the winter and went to the store instead. I bought a sleeve of oreos and sat on a park bench, just eating them there alone. No reason for it that I can remember. Thatâs the feeling that âThe Gods Lieâ will leave you with. Oh yeah, if you were hoping these feelings were gonna be like âcatharsisâ or âbittersweet melancholyâ Iâm sorry to disappoint. When I said specific feelings I meant specific.

Think of your wildest dream. The thing that will most likely never come true, but if it did you would be the happiest person in the world. Thought of it? Okay now imagine that it sucks and is terrible⌠stupid even. Downfall or âReirakuâ is actually just Asano Inioâs life after finishing Oyasumi Punpun. Itâs about how much he hates being a Mangaka, and I relate to it heavily because I really hate writing this blog. Downfall is like the feeling of when you get something you really wanted but then turns out youâre still you, the same prisoner in the same old flesh. Eventually you will find a new goal to delude yourself with but that transition SUCKS boy.

It is rare to find a true example of sigma male literature, it is even more rare to find sigma female literature. While Iâm not gay and/or a woman, âMy Broken Marikoâ really left an impression on me; I imagine itâs an even stronger impression for a sigma female reader. Some people say this manga romantisicizes suicide, but it didnât make me want to kill myself at all. This manga will make you want to go out on your balcony on a cold night and smoke a whole pack of cigarettes in one go, not in a gross old man way, but like a cool doomer girlboss way.

If only I could find rocks like these⌠Yeah. What feeling is this? I donât actually know. Dude I donât think I want to know. What the hell. Itâs like when you drop a glass in the kitchen and just watch it shatter to pieces as it hits the floor. Then just staring at it for a while before taking a deep breath and lethargically cleaning it up. Why didnât you catch it? Why didnât you at least try to catch it? Man if only I could find rocks like theseâŚ

If you ever feel like maybe youâre enjoying life a little too much, you can always turn to âI Sold My Life For Ten Thousand Yen Per Yearâ aka âThree Days of Happinessâ aka âStare at the Ceiling and Wonder Where It All Went Wrong Tutorialâ. Here's a digital painting I made! Constructive criticism is appreciatedđ
I hate the fact that no one cares about media geared towards girls. Like those stories are valuable too :(
As of today (May 6th) Israeli settlers are violently displacing Palestinians of Sheikh Jarrah (in Eastern Jerusalem) and ripping them out of their own homes. Settlers are violently physically assaulting Palestinians and are backed by the military. This forced eviction is illegal under international law.
Here is a twitter thread of charities to donate to help Palestinians.
Here is a linktree with resources of how to contact representatives (specifically for USA, Canadian, and UK citizens) and several petitions calling to an end to violence in Palestine, as well as more donation links.
Please keep your eye on Sheikh Jarrah and Palestine and donât remain silent.
If you could to do good things for other people
You had a obligation to do those thing
Itâs been a long time since I made one of these. I was asked to make this recommendation a while back and as always, I have been slacking. Mian haeyo :(
In in the world of Korean dramas is there anything our male lead oppas canât do?? They can jump from one building to another, they can be unrealistically rich CEOs, they can fight 25 people at once (and win), they can sing, they can dance, they can see future, they hear your thoughts, they can go back in time, they are crazzzy smart and the list goes onâŚbut they are also big dum-dums when it comes to love.
This is the recommendation of Kdramas in which male leads donât even realise that they are in love.
All of these dramas are really amazing in my very biased opinion and you should definitely watch them if you havenât already.
Brace yourself for a fluff fest!
đ¸Â  Touch your heart: Famous (really cute) actress ends up working as the secretary of a (serious) lawyer to gain experience for her next role.
Dong Wookâs character is probably the most adorable idiot in this list. He is crazy smart when it comes to law, and equally thick when it comes to sarcasm and womenâs heart.
Watch this to add 10 years to your life.
đ¸Â  Weightlifting fairy Kim Bok Joo: Story of a female weightlifter full of swag and a male swimmer who canât pronounce swaaeeeg.
This is friends to lover trope at the most realistic form a Kdrama could be. This drama is the campus life fluff we all need.
𸠠She was pretty: They were childhood friends - she was a pretty girl and he was a fat kid who got bullied a lot. They meet again years later and now, he is her hot boss and she is not pretty anymore. So she lies about her identity and he doesnât recognise her.
As controversial as this trope is. The story is surprisingly not. The drama has no bad characters and reminds me so much of Ugly Betty as itâs based in a magazine world. It has one of the best female friendship and a very serious second lead syndrome. The female mc is so refreshing played by Hwang Jung-eum.
Honestly, if this doesnât convince youâŚwatch it for Choi Siwon and Park Seo Joon.
đ¸Â  Whatâs wrong with secretary Kim: Narcissistic boss canât live without his secretary.
This is basically it. You donât want to miss this one.
đ¸ Clean with passion for now: Man who has a fear of germs and woman who doesnât care about cleanliness.
The guyâs fear of germs is another level where he canât even let anyone touch him let alone think about a relationship. This is a very adorable drama with very cute leads.
đ¸ My love from the star: He is an alien who canât wait to go back to his planet, she is a famous actress who lives next door.
This is a gem that people forgot about and I want everyone to talk about this more often. Kim Soo Hyun and Jeon Ji Hyeon are in it. The plot is good, the chemistry is amazing, their love story is what I love the most about kdramas.
Watch this even if you have seen it all those years ago cause it is still a classic.
đ¸ Because this is my first life: He owns a home, she doesnât.
Honestly, this drama is a masterpiece. It is very entertaining, very simple and very lovely. Watch this⌠It will water your crops, clear your skin and make you crave for more.
đ¸Â Oh my ghostess: A shy woman is possessed by a thirsty virgin ghost.
This is horror (very light), comedy, romance. Park Bo Young is just so cute. The entire plot is ridiculous but highly entertaining. Itâs a kitchen romance so keep food ready before hitting the play button.
𸠠Suspicious Partner: A trainee prosecutor becomes a murder suspect.
This is a crime, law, romance drama. My love Ji Chang Wook is in it. His character is a strict guy who doesnât want to fall in love and the female lead (Nam Ji Hyun) understandably falls for himâŚall this but with murder and other crimes.

Alright. Thatâs it, folks! I can probably add so much more here but thatâs it for now. See you again next time. Hit me up if you need recommendations or talk about dramas in general.Â
P.S. Check my blog for more kdrama recs, this hell-site wonât let me link them here.Â
