it was impossible for josie to not find out, that hope was back in the city. the two ended on not so great terms a few months ago, causing their european adventure to be cut short. both of them held too much grief and shared the inability to cope, a recipe for disaster when it came to any relationship. once finding out about the murders, she realized that delaying their meeting was not going to work out. knowing that if anyone was going to join the crusade to figure out who was behind this, it would be the trusy tribrid, someone josie loved dearly.
taking a deep breath as if to gather courage, the siphoner knocked on the door of hope's old room. a place that would never change thanks to caroline. after a rthymic few knocks, josie placed her hands behind her back, gripping her wrists tightly as some way to hold back all her feelings. if hope does open the door, what the hell was meant to be said? i love you? i'm sorry? can we just go back to before? the endless questions began to give josie a headache. regretting the idea of doing this in the first place.
"hope, please open the door. i just need to know you are okay."
"i'm sure someone had their parent tell them to stay inside and then it spiraled from there." social media got the news out quick, something that didn't work on the sides of the faction. "of course she does...." shaking her head, josie let out a soft sigh. her mother met well and she respected it, but something had broken in all of them after the merge and it was going to take a long time before it would feel even slightly easier. "i'm always going to be kind to mom, she is just worried and she isn't wrong, it's just hard because we need more time...i'm still figuring out how to be a person without my other half." it was still hard to talk about, knowing that she was now older than her twin sister, the whole ordeal was overwhelming, to say the least. "i'm actually on my way to be with all of you, but first i need to get these papers to the front desk."
Klaus nodded. "So it has spread to the general population," he noted to himself. That was not what they wanted. He nodded, looking around the place. After all art was still as peaceful to him today as it had been to him as a child. "Yes," Klaus said without missing a beat. "She wants to invite you over and then lock you all in the house for the rest of your human lives," he said honestly, though it was with a light tone. "So be a little kind on her." Klaus couldn't help but feel the same feeling given what was happening around them. "Though not to lure you back to the house, but we did pick you up something when we were traveling, when you are ready."
she nodded her head at his statement, it was hard to be okay when people were being murder because they were supernatural. "you're right..." hayley trailed off, trying to think of any good news to tell andrew, but nothing came to mind. she was in the dark as everyone else. "no, honestly i don't have much information right now, but i'm trying to find out more." she knew the risks of having kids, but she also wanted to be a mother.. wanted to change the story, making sure the ending wasn't grim and violent like her past. "have you heard anything? i'll take anything even if it seems small."
" i guess that would depend on your definition of okay . " he sighed . andrew knew that he had the choice of becoming human again , by taking the cure but after the life he lived while he was human he was happy to leave that part of his life behind . yet , the thought of someone hurting his family and him being powerless to do anything about it didn't sit well for the redhead . " any news on what's going on with the killings ? "
eleanor wasn't sure how she ended up here, someone at the local bookshop said that the mikaelson's were big on art. even though she should've been taking time to being used to living once more, instead she threw herself into work. with a manuscript in hand, elle made her way into the kitchen, the aroma of a large meal filled her senses, causing her to realize that she hadn't eaten much today. with wide eyes, she met charlie's gaze and shook her head softly. "no really, i'm the one intruding...umm i was told that this family is into helping the arts...and i have this book that i wanted one of you to take a look at." her tone was awkward and stiff, no matter how many times she cursed herself in her mind, the weirdness stayed.
As the first rays of morning light filtered through the windows, Charlie found himself free from the confines of the garden lockup. Filled with a newfound sense of purpose, he headed straight to the kitchen, ready to take on the day.
With a burst of energy, Charlie began to transform the space, pots and pans clanging as he dug into his culinary creations. Lost in a whirlwind of spices and flavors, he didn't notice the soft footsteps approaching him until a gentle cough broke through his concentration.
Startled, Charlie turned around, a look of surprise on his face as he met the gaze of the person behind him. "Oh, hi there," he said, a sheepish smile spreading across his face. "I didn't realize you were here."

josie wiped the tears falling onto hope's cheek with her finger, doing her very best to be gentle and caring. the two of them didn't even really need to say anything, all of it had been said once they looked in each others eyes, but it still felt good to say it. for the siphoner, it felt as if the apology was long required, she'd write hope notes all the time only to burn them with the flick of her wrist. shaking her head slowly, she rested her palm on her sisters cheek and smiled. "me neither....what's worse is she isn't here in my head anymore and i can't seem to figure out why. she used to be there in the back of mind, but for the past few weeks, i can't feel her anymore."
taking a deep breath, she placed both hands on her lap. wanting to mention that even though lizzie wasn't in her mind, she was still felt. yet, there was a fear that mentioning it would send them on some mission only for the same outcome. so instead, she kept it to herself, waiting until she had proof. "did your mom come visit you in europe after i left? i'd hate to hear that you were alone..."
she'd toss and turn about it for months, unable to pick up the phone and call in fear of hearing the sorrow in the others voice. josie felt like a coward as she sat next to hope, it made her skin burn.
THE TRIBID HELD ON to her sister for dear life, pressing the siphoner to her as she felt her self exhale. being without josie for all of this time had proven to be ONE of the most heartbreaking things that had happened in her life time, the distance between them had been like losing a part of her soul and with such a large part of it gone already ( it had been buried with lizzie ) she hadn't been sure that she could make it through. the phrase ' there is always light at the end of a tunnel ' had begun to sound so incredibly cliche to her, that any mention of ' hope ' outside of her name felt like a SICK joke. and maybe she was too young to be so pessimistic but what else could she be? she had failed at keeping her PROMISE. and not just to josie, but lizzie too. failure did not settle well ⸺ call it a fallacy of being young, but maybe she'd bought into her own hype if only for a moment that staggeringly annoying confidence that ran in her family, had taken the limelight only to become extinguished just as fast as it was lit. she was EMBARRASED, and ashamed all reasons that stopped her from seeking josie out sooner. " there's nothing to forgive. " she assured the other, as she pulled back, hands placed on both of her arms, as she feared that the brunette would disappear as soon as she let go. " i shouldn't have... " a pause, tears formed in ocean colored eyes, and for once hope allowed them to fall. " i shouldn't have PROMISED what i couldn't keep. " she shook her head. " i'm so, sorry jo... " the disappointment in her tone was more than present, in fact it could be seen reflected in her the way she held herself. " i just can't... get used to a WORLD where she isn't here. "

"no, i had no idea so your father couldn't have known. if he did he would've come home with that crease in his brow and his eyes darting every time you make eye contact." gabriela snorted, a smirk on her lips as she thought of tylers face when he found out bad news. it didn't happen as often anymore and even when it was bad news, she'd still relish in the way he acted. honestly, they adored everything about their husband. shaking her head, she replied. "you know babygirl, i would love that but it isn't wise not right now. let me talk to your father..." trailing off, she realized that she had already given him some bad news earlier, about joining the faction. with that realization her shoulders slouch.
she was able to laugh for a moment, until screams began to fill the room. quickly, the demon placed an arm over their daughter, making sure to keep her out of the way of harm. waiters who were giving out drinks, ripped off their masks and took out their weapons. "i knew it." they muttered with gritted teeth. "alright okay give me like a few more seconds." she had a weapon, tucked in her holster near her upper thigh was a knife, the other leg had a tiny pistol. giving the firearm to kaya, she turned and gave her a stern look. "you need to cover me, i will get anyone who gets close to us. we need to just find an exit, i know your dad will find us, we just need to get out."
The demon smiled at her mom, wishing that they were back at home, relaxing on the couch without having to worry about all these people and potential threats. She longed to drop her head on her mom's shoulder and eat ice cream out of the tub with a spoon. She didn't want to have to think about her present half-demon abilities or her future werewolf potential. Unfortunately, the fear of killing someone haunted pretty much her every moment. "Does Dad know he's here? We should just rally the whole family and kick his ass." Strength in numbers, right?
Kaya turned on her bar stool to look out over at those enjoying the party. "Oh, trust me. I've tried a little bit of everything. The deviled eggs are lowkey the best thing here. Though, I'd choose your cooking over this fancy stuff anytime."
eleanor was still getting used to being alive, so even though she felt beautiful in the dress, she was also filled with nervousness. the only people she'd been around were her family and fiancee. people who looked at her like a fragile doll. so maybe this party was a good thing, she could wear a mask and pretend to not be some dead girl. yet when walking into the room, she felt instantly embarrassed, a feeling that hasn't left since crawling out of her grave. even when nikolas would shower her with kind words, it felt as if they just passed through her body. lost in worrying thoughts, she didn't even notice that someone stepped on her toe. "oh gosh! no don't worry! i wasn't even aware i was standing near someone, this place is beautiful but terrifying."
open to all.
she felt awkward, social interaction was something she didn’t like, but forced social interaction in a dress, that was making blossom feel more uncomfortable than anything. the voices in her head telling her that something was going to happen and maybe that made the unknown banshee even more uncomfortable. she stepped back from where she was standing, instantly regretting it as she could feel herself tread on the other persons toe. “oh..shit..”she murmured, more to herself. turning she look at the other, stupid masks, made it impossible to know fully who the other person was. “really sorry for treading on your toes..really need to think where I step.”
josie was working, picking an art piece from the cathedral that was being transferred to the museum for a new exhibit. she has walked these steps for as long as she can remember, but it wasn't like they weren't special, the siphoner just had much more on her mind. his touch sent her out of her daze, meeting his gaze with a raised eyebrow, because honestly she was going to tell him off for touching her, but then he spoke and she understood. nodding her head, she took a step back to the others side and looked up at the building. taking in the way it looked as the sun hit it at just the right angle.
allowing her shoulders to relax, a smile formed on josie's lips as she looked to the other. "have you been inside?" if he was this enamored by the outside, she couldn't imagine what he would think of the rest.
open starter: @inaducursehqstarters location: outside the st. louis cathedral "Oh wow, this is just ... wow," Isaac isn't usually one for so many words, but his excitement is getting the best of him. He's been standing at the foot of the Cathedral for twenty minutes, gawking up in awe. Nothing sings to him like a pretty building, and this one in particular is an opera. Isaac has reread the plaque at least four times, soaking in every detail. The architect was French (he loves the French!) and died before seeing the completed structure. Isaac will enjoy it enough for the both of them, he decides, because what better way to honor the memory. A person steps into his view, then, appearing to head for the door. Isaac reaches out instinctively to stop them, lest they disrupt his view (which in fairness, hasn't changed in the last twenty minutes, but still). "Not yet," he tells them gently, but his grip is strong, "You're already missing the best part."
gabriela was used to tyler leaving during the full moon, knowing that when he got back, the two would spend hours talking and holding each other close. not every trip caused him to come home with old emotions stirred up, but it appeared this one had. she could hear it in his voice on their first call, but waited to question him until they were able to speak face to face. the bayou had become their safe place, free from all the pain and judgement the world had brought them years before. seeing him there against the countertop, it caused her whole body to instantly soften. gliding over towards him gabi placed a hand on his face, taking in the way he felt against her palm. a smile growing on her lips once he spoke. "i don't mind being so co-dependent when it comes to you." she smirked before placing a soft kiss on his forehead.
standing in front of him, gabriela's arms snaked around his waist before tilting her head. eyes tracing his features, as if he had been gone for years. "i missed you too. how about i make us a drink and we debrief?"

tyler was happy to be back home . he had gone out of town for three days to help his friend's son learn how to transform into a werewolf safely , for the first time . this had brought back memories of the first time tyler had turned . he remembered having to remove all his clothes until he was completely naked before folding his clothes neatly to the side . he recalled putting the cold metal shackles on his wrists and ankles , which followed the endless waiting before every bone in his body broke over and over again , and last he remembered the fear of what would happened if the chain broke . however in the bayou where they lived things were different . there was no chains need amongst werewolf . tyler leaned on the kitchen countertop as he saw gabriela walk in . they had of course talked over the phone in his absence but to feel her hand move slowly over his face felt so needed . eyes closed as he felt a wave of peace and comfort rush through him . " god i missed this . . i missed you . " he confessed .
josie watched the flames as they danced in the wind, she'd always loved the solstice bonfire. the snacks and traditions of burning wishes or just things you needed to let go of, all of it felt like home. to have lizzie back made it that much better. klaus's voice took her out of her thoughts, ones of all the women in her life both past and present. rolling her eyes, the siphoner gave him a smirk before shrugging. "tonight, i'll just be observing..." ever since the masquerade, josie couldn't help but be on edge. knowing that if anything there wouldn't be just one event ruined by hunters. "i don't trust anything about this event. normally i love it but...something just doesn't feel right."

klaus mikaelson stood near the bonfire, drink in hand, the flames casting a menacing glow on his face. the air crackled with tension as much as it did with magic. his gaze was sharp, piercing through the merriment around him. a newcomer approached, and klaus's lips twisted into a sardonic smile. "ah, fresh meat," he drawled, his tone dripping with annoyance.
"greeting and salutations" he continued, voice edged with sarcasm. "do try not to get in anyone's way." he took a slow sip of his drink, eyes never leaving the intruder. "it would be such a shame to spoil the evening."
