I was in line at Aldi and this girl with two toddlers in front of me had her card declined and she looked so fucking sad and said “let me call my husband real quick” and it was only 18 dollars, so I just paid for it, and she was very sweet and then as she walked off, the lady behind me said `”You know that was probably a scam, right?” and like, even if it was, like what a sad fucking scam, right? 18 dollars at the Aldi. If you’re “scamming” me for some Tyson chicken and apple juice and cauliflower, then just take my fucking money. 

“A scam” people are fucking wild.  

Dehumanizing bigots is bad, not because I want to be nice to them, but because they are human beings and they serve as a reminder that anyone is capable of evil ideation and action. Violent bigots are not fundamentally different beings from you. They are human beings, who have developed a reactionary and destructive belief system due to their circumstances combined with their biases. In a different timeline, that could've been you. Anyone can be radicalized. Nobody is immune to propaganda, not even the person reading this.

My mom got phished in an EXTREMELY refined scam that pretty much anyone could fall for-- basically her account was already pre-hacked and they spoofed the bank's number exactly, called her pretending there was fraud, and read back legitimate and fake transactions and personal info so she wouldn't suspect they weren't the bank. Then discouraged her from logging in claiming the account was locked so they could investigate the fraud-- all so she wouldnt catch them making massive purchases using her stolen info.

We have the same boss and when she told him what happened he recommended she call the bank directly, so she did and they managed to catch it in time before $20k of transactions went through. Very scary

I guess the lesson here is never ever answer your phone, I love that fraud is so rampant an entire form of mass communication is now useless

ANYONE can fall for phishing scams- my mom is extremely smart and we discuss common scams that target her age demographic and she still fell for this. If it happened to me I may have fallen for it too. Always be careful!

Found this important just in general. When precedent cases go through, many tend to sweep the country after that. People really need to unite, before everyone’s gone and there’s no one left to fight for freedom.

First people they considered illegal.

Then people outside of what they consider the correct gender.

Now people who read, write, and have romance. (This includes stuff targeted to men too; ie. your dating sims. Hentai. Porn. AI chat bots. etc.. These laws will be for everyone.)

And tariffs, that have been put in motion to happen this year, and will impact everyone but the rich.

But the more they try to do, the more people realize what’s been done. Now is the time to slowly get rid of your fear and anxiety. Walk around your room, read a book about your favorite character being awesome. Call your parent(s) for a chat. You only need to do just enough, just enough, to start helping out, even if that helping is spreading one word of correct information. You did that. You helped.

We can do this, just listen to me. You can do this.

But I need you to help me too.
