Peter B Parker: “That’s it! You’re all grounded! Miles, no art supplies for you. Gwen, no band practice for you. Peni, no tech for you. Ham, no cartoon gimmicks for you.”
Peter B Parker: “And Noir... oh my god. Is there anything that you love?”
Noir: “Revenge”
Peter B Parker: “No vengeance for you.”
Noir: “I was going to say ‘I’ll get you for this,’ but I guess that’s off the table.”
some depression tips:
Get several water bottles, fill them all up together, that way you’ll only have to get up once to have plenty of water for the day. Hydration is super important.
Get a Depression Bag prepped on your clear days. Put food in it. No perishables/cold stuff obviously, but things like crackers, canned food, chips, a loaf of bread + spreads, cookies, even some fruits + vegetables (just make sure you eat them either way before they go bad.) If needed, you can hide this bag in your room.
Bring a bowl, a toothbrush and some toothpaste into your room. Use a little bit of water over the bowl to wet the brush so you can clean your teeth. Other hygiene doesn’t matter, but you only get one chance with your teeth. Just clean your teeth and you’ve succeeded, well done, very proud of you!!
Try go outside or do something stimulating. I know, I know, some days you can’t and it is absolutely okay to just exist, but a lot of the time I find I get stuck in a cycle of misery and I actually feel better if I get out and do something different, even just going for a short walk can clear my head a bit. If you live close to a town, watch a movie, go and look at flowers in a florist’s, go to a bookstore and browse. If you can’t leave the house, download a new app that can work your brain a little bit (Duolingo worked best for me.) There’s also plenty of mental health apps out there that may help!!
Open your window (if it’s not too cold), fresh air will help, even just a little bit.
Remember that it’s okay, you are okay. All you have to do is stay alive. That’s it. Nothing else matters. Just stay alive. You are so much stronger than you know, I believe in you, I love you so much and I am so, so proud of you. 💕💕💕
